Yes, you are correct about that, however BSD itself is inspired by the series of books from an author, and the main inspiration behind Dazai's character was IRL Tsushima's No Longer Human novel, which has the genre of I-Novel (or a confessional book, towards certain aspects of one's life) therefore it would reason to why Dazai is one of, if not the only character that is most accurate to the real life. Due to this fact alone, I find it disrespectful to associate Tsushima directly with a work of him, just because a character based on his books had his name on it. I think it is much more respectful to associate BSD Dazai with the name of the protagonist of No Longer Human itself, (Youzo) Oba.
