Dude defines what James Bond is at his core. Don’t hate me, just my opinion. Goldeneye is and will always be the greatest bond film, period.
Pierce was great! My personal favorite performance, he just gets shafted because he’s in some of the worst movies to no fault of his own. If all of his movies were consistent with goldeneye I think people would give him more credit. Connery and Craig are both great, I just prefer Pierce.
Those are the 2 that first come to mind for me. Pierce being close by. They starred in the most classics, not just entries period. Goldfinger, live and let die, from russia with love, the spy who loved me, etc. All fun

Pierce Brosnan IS Bond to me, even when he's not playing him per se! Whether he's playing a meteorologist (that's Bond as a meteorologist), the love interest to a recent divorcee (that's Bond as a love interest), or not-the-best singing in a musical (that's Bond not hitting those notes) it's still Bond to me! None of the others I can say that about! When I see any of them as Bond I can accept it, once they step out of it though they are who they are. The only one that sort of rivals Brosnan is Connery himself - only when I see him as Bond I see him as Bond...& Connery at the same time...if it's Connery in another role that's Connery AS that role. What can I say, Connery is his own brand no matter what! But Brosnan (at least, to me) is Bond no matter what he's doing!

It was deliberate because of the recent realism of the action spy genre, with spies/agents like Jason Bourne, Bond needed to be gritty too and not a prima donna ballerina. Lol.

I grew up watching Connery and Moore as Bond, never accepted Dalton or Brosnan. Just yesterday I watched Lazenby as Bond for the first time and... HE WAS AWESOME!! He's the most underrated Bond ever.
Here is my Rankings and W - L 1 Sean Connery ( Best ) 6 - 1 2 Roger Moore ( Favorite ) 7 - 0 3 Pierce Brosnan 3 - 1 4 Daniel Craig 2 - 2 5 Timothy Dalton 2 - 0 6 George Lazenby 1 - 0 7 David Niven 0 - 1
Sean Connery is the GOAT of James Bond because nobody does it better. No comparison ever made for years to come . He will always be the one , the only Bond, James Bond. RIP
I have watched all of the James Bond films. And my personal opinion is that we shouldn't be ranking them. Each of the actors have some unique traits of their own. It wouldn't be fair to just compare them because of this or that. All of the actors couldn't just ace it with the same personality like Sean Connery. They each execute on their own special traits. That's what makes James Bond films so good, is that you don't feel bored because each actor brings a fresh start to the character itself.
Connery was my favorite for a long time. I got the collection of books, read them, and then bought the remastered four box DVD collections and re-watched them all in order. When I watched Dalton's films, I'd always enjoyed them in the past, but seeing them again after having read the novels, I realized Dalton brought Bond from the page to the screen. Licence to Kill became my favorite Bond film, and Dalton usurped Connery as my favorite Bond. Connery is still up there, though, and Roger Moore and Daniel Craig are in a bit of a tie, followed by Brosnan and Lazenby. Moore's outings are silly, but still extremely enjoyable.
Timothy Dalton being below Brosnan and Moore = ridiculous. Brosnan got let down by bad scripts after GoldenEye and Moore turned the character into a camp self parody after the 70’s ended. Dalton took the series back to basics and was a breath of fresh air after Moore’s camp excesses that were becoming played out. The fact that he read the Fleming novels to really understand the psyche of 007 and turned down the role twice (he was too young when OHMSS was being produced and wanted to wait till he was old enough to play the role) shows the level of respect he had for the role. How he only did two movies while Moore did 7 was completely criminal. He’s the most underrated Bond ever. Sean Connery Timothy Dalton Daniel Craig Pierce Brosnan Roger Moore George Lazenby That’s how I would rank the Bond’s.
I agree with your opinion on Dalton. I don’t know if you read any other f Fleming’s Bond novels but Dalton was the closest we’ll see to being an accurate portrayal of Fleming’s original Bond. I do agree with your opinion on Moore. This might be a dumb thing to say and you might think I’m an idiot for saying this, but Moore was only in two bad Bond films: The Man with the Golden Gun and Octopussy. I know several people don’t like Moonraker or A View to a Kill, but they are guilty pleasures for me.
My two favorite Bond Actors Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery both elegant, sophisticated, Charming and great sense of humor and pretty good with action scenes. Ohh I forgot both incredibly sexy definitely believable in the man women want and men want to be. If an American actor could portray bond after Craig I’d choose Robert Downey Jr his take on Tony Stark for me was a nice combination of my two favorite portrayals of Bond . ( Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery)
I remember being a kid and I dot know who the bond was at that time but is was after roger but his movies were on at night all the time so I first saw him in the role even rhyme was done me and my dad stayed up late watching moon racker
You need to start a furious social media campaign! A Puerto Rican James Bond? I would like to see that. What would you replace the "shaken, not stirred martini with?
Absolutely no doubt. Sir Sean Connery. His fight scene with Red Grant in From Russia With love is still one of the most realistic and brutal fights in cinematic history. He was suave and sophisticated and yet you could sense the violence lurking just beneath the surface.
I don’t know if you would really count him as a Bond actor, but you forgot Bob Simmons who played as Bond in the opening Gunbarrel sequence at the beggining of the first three films, Dr. No(1962), From Russia with love(1963), and Goldfinger(1964)
As i was born in the noughties (2000s) Bond will and always will be craig and i will never see it other way. Imo he is the best bond judt cos he brought the modern aspect and mixed it with old school
So true, now is it me or RDJ’s Tony Stark is a lot like Pierce Brosnan take on bond.? I think one of the reasons I completely loved The MCU is because how much I loved RDJ’s portrayal of Tony Stark reminding me one of my favorite movie characters and crazy ended up loving Iron Man more than James Bond. Bond was for a long time my favorite movie character but then I watched the first Iron Man and Tony Stark/ Iron Man took his place. I
My three favorite James Bond actors are 1. Sean Connery, 2. Pierce Brosnan, and 3. Roger Moore in that particular order however i will admit that i like only two of the five Daniel Craig Bond films mainly Casino Royale and Skyfall.
1. Roger Moore 2. Timothy Dalton & Pierce Brosnan 3. Sean Connery 4. Daniel Craig 5. Lazenby Not counting David Niven as his film was more like a spoof
My ranking of James Bond actors 7. David Niven - This man is obviously a parody version of James Bond, so we can all agree that he should be 7 6 and 5. Roger Moore and George Lazenby - Not that i hate the 2 of them, but if i had to rank them, they would be a tie in my list. Roger Moore is much like a goofy Bond, but still a nice Bond, giving us a lot of charm and laughs, while George Lazenby was inexperienced actor, and i don't blame him, Lazenby wanted to be Bond, he decided to be himself without looking at any embarrasments. 4. Daniel Craig - Before he started Bond, he was critized a lot for being the first James Bond actor to be blonde, but after Casino Royale, he was more recognized. Now this is my ranking, so he is #4 3. Sean Connery- The Original Bond, the first actor to bring Bond on the big screen, he's cool, charming, and, well, he's the original Bond, so why is he #3? Well, just because most people rank him #1, that doesn't mean he's my #1. Everyone has their opinions, and this is mine 2. Pierce Brosnan- Anybody who was born in the 90s and watched Goldeneye thought HE was James Bond, he brought back the franchise from falling to it's doom and made James Bond more watchable than ever! And he was even in videogames! Goldeneye 007, Nightfire, Agent Under Fire, and Everything or Nothing! I watched him on Netflix first with Goldeneye, and he was just amazing. But you might be surprised with my #1 1. Timothy Dalton- Dalton was Ian Fleming's Bond, he had read all the James Bond novels and acted how Ian Fleming intended, his darkness is what made him James Bond, however audiences weren't prepared for his darkness, which made him underrated. None the less, he is #1 in my list The explanations are a bit dull, but yeah, this is my ranking
Connery set such a high bar as Bond making it hard for all others to follow. It’s like replacing Lennon in the Beatles after he died …. It would never be better or even equal as the original Fab Four!
Sean connory is the best bond..not bcz he passed away..may he rest in peace but the charisma he brought playing the character..Goldfinger my favourite movie
another generic top of the heap what has been 1-Connery 2-Craig 3-Moore 4-Brosnan 5-Dalton 6-Lazenby 7-Niven You can find this same ranking in all the other videos ranking of the actors and all the pages that the actors rank
Let us know in the comment section below who you think played Bond the best!

Grew up with Pierce, and he's a natural for the role...but it's Connery overall for me.
My ranking:
1. Pierce Brosnan
2. Sean Connery
3. Roger Moore
4. Daniel Craig
5. Timothy Dalton
6. George Lazenby
Daniel Craig
Connery, Bronson, and Dalton are my favorites
1:00 I didn't know old servant carrying and shaking a large tray inspired the servant from Tomb Raider games.
I grew up watching Connery and Moore as Bond, never accepted Dalton or Brosnan. Just yesterday I watched Lazenby as Bond for the first time and... HE WAS AWESOME!! He's the most underrated Bond ever.
RIP Sean Connery and RIP Roger Moore, top 2 James Bond actor
Sean connery, Timothy Dalton,Daniel Craig,Pierce Bronsonan, Roger Moore and George lazenby
Here is my Rankings and W - L
1 Sean Connery ( Best ) 6 - 1
2 Roger Moore ( Favorite ) 7 - 0
3 Pierce Brosnan 3 - 1
4 Daniel Craig 2 - 2
5 Timothy Dalton 2 - 0
6 George Lazenby 1 - 0
7 David Niven 0 - 1
Definitely what could have been had Timothy Dalton taken the role earlier on in his illustrious career or had he carried on after Licence to Kill.
Sean Connery is the GOAT of James Bond because nobody does it better. No comparison ever made for years to come . He will always be the one , the only Bond, James Bond. RIP
Pretty much agree. From worst to best for me are Lazenby, Dalton, and Brosnan. Top three are Moore, Craig, and #1 Connery. Just personal opinion.
Pierce Brosnan was my favourite followed by Roger Moore. Both suave, sophisticated and handsome plus they didn't take themselves too seriously.
Pierce Brosnan brought a lotta style to the table.
when i heard the name james bond whats on my mind is pierce brosnan, when i see daniel craig whats on my mind is dr. watson. idk
Totally agree with your list of the best Bond. It's my personally favourite Bond list too.
1. Sean Connery
2. Daniel Craig
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. Timothy Dalton
5. Roger Moore
So James Bond is some kind of Time Lord...Ah, classic Brits...
What a stupid comment
The late Sean Connery will be the king of Bond forever. Goodbye Mr. Bond.
Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton
Daniel Craig
Pierce Brosnan
Roger Moore
George Lazenby
That’s how I would rank the Bond’s.
The irony is that out of all the actors only Timothy Dalton & Daniel Craig have played the character as he is portrayed in the books.
Exactly
“Never say never again” released in 1983, not 1962.
I'm 23 and My favorite is Sean Connery.
Daniel Craig definitely was in the best Bond movies. Skyfall and Casino Royale were just amazing.
This is not about the best bond movies.
Sean Connery and Roger moore are the best bonds
The fact that Bond was #1 on the Connery and Craig performances lists shows just how good the two of them played him
My personal list
1-Daniel Craig
2-Sean Connery
3-Timothy Dalton
4-Pierce Brosnan
5-Roger Moore
6-George Lazenbry
7-David Niven
2:38 dalton is more serious than other actors
I remember being a kid and I dot know who the bond was at that time but is was after roger but his movies were on at night all the time so I first saw him in the role even rhyme was done me and my dad stayed up late watching moon racker
I'm the next James Bond the first Puerto rican James Bond 😁😁😂😂😁😂😆😆😆
You need to start a furious social media campaign! A Puerto Rican James Bond? I would like to see that. What would you replace the "shaken, not stirred martini with?
Sean Connery and Roger Moore defined JB like no one.
Absolutely no doubt. Sir Sean Connery. His fight scene with Red Grant in From Russia With love is still one of the most realistic and brutal fights in cinematic history. He was suave and sophisticated and yet you could sense the violence lurking just beneath the surface.
Sean Connery was the best Bond ever.
Daniel Craig is by far and away #1. And he supports the greatest football team in the world
It’s Sean... he started the phenomenon. If he had got it wrong bond would not be with us today. Sean was and is the man
Brosnan perfected the character, full of wit and charming
So true, now is it me or RDJ’s Tony Stark is a lot like Pierce Brosnan take on bond.?
I think one of the reasons I completely loved The MCU is because how much I loved RDJ’s portrayal of Tony Stark reminding me one of my favorite movie characters and crazy ended up loving Iron Man more than James Bond.
Bond was for a long time my favorite movie character but then I watched the first Iron Man and Tony Stark/ Iron Man took his place.
I
RIP Sean Connery & Roger Moore
Daniel Craig's Bond are some of my favorite movies of all time. Best Bond for me.
Daniel Craig is the worst of all Bonds
His movies are good but just dont fit in the role
Agreed. Same rationale. The best is certainly behind us. The 21st century culture does not sanction 007
My three favorite James Bond actors are 1. Sean Connery, 2. Pierce Brosnan, and 3. Roger Moore in that particular order however i will admit that i like only two of the five Daniel Craig Bond films mainly Casino Royale and Skyfall.
1. Sean Connery
2. Timothy Dalton
3. George Lazenby
4. Roger Moore
5. Daniel Craig
6. Pierce Brosnan
Top 3 for me:
1. Daniel Craig
2. Sean Connery ( RIP a legend)😢🙏
3. Timothy Dalton
1. Roger Moore
2. Timothy Dalton & Pierce Brosnan
3. Sean Connery
4. Daniel Craig
5. Lazenby
Not counting David Niven as his film was more like a spoof
Sean Connery or Roger Moore ..which is best only one way to find out ...Fight..
My ranking of James Bond actors
7. David Niven - This man is obviously a parody version of James Bond, so we can all agree that he should be 7
6 and 5.
Now this is my ranking, so he is #4
3. Sean Connery- The Original Bond, the first actor to bring Bond on the big screen, he's cool, charming, and, well, he's the original Bond, so why is he #3? Well, just because most people rank him #1, that doesn't mean he's my #1. Everyone has their opinions, and this is mine
2. But you might be surprised with my #1
1. Timothy Dalton- Dalton was Ian Fleming's Bond, he had read all the James Bond novels and acted how Ian Fleming intended, his darkness is what made him James Bond, however audiences weren't prepared for his darkness, which made him underrated. None the less, he is #1 in my list
The explanations are a bit dull, but yeah, this is my ranking
Connery set such a high bar as Bond making it hard for all others to follow. It’s like replacing Lennon in the Beatles after he died …. It would never be better or even equal as the original Fab Four!
My picks #1 Sean Connery #2 Roger Moore #3 Pierce Brosnan #4 Timothy Dalton #5 Daniel Craig #6 George Lazenby #7 David Niven
sean conory has day a week ago...
rest in peace sean, rest in peace
Sean connory is the best bond..not bcz he passed away..may he rest in peace but the charisma he brought playing the character..Goldfinger my favourite movie
In Brosnan's era as James Bond it involves with massive explosions
Sean Connery is forever THE James Bond
Honestly I feel like WatchMojo just put Sean Connery at #1 because he recently passed away. If anything he is a number 2 or 3.
6. Daniel Craig
5. George Lazenby
4. Pierce Brosnan
3. Roger Moore
2. Timothy Dalton
1. Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton is my favorite 007. He was dark, brooding and intense. George Lazenby was just awful.
another generic top of the heap what has been
1-Connery
2-Craig
3-Moore
4-Brosnan
5-Dalton
6-Lazenby
