- We took our ten year old to his first concert and just like me, his first was a Shakin Stevens show (albeit supporting one of the greatest classic rock bands of the 20th and 21st century, Status Quo.
He thoroughly enjoyed the Shaky part, occasionally screaming “We love you Shaky!” through the crooner’s part. In particular Merry Christmas Everyone which I think he would have been upset about if he didn’t do.
After the interval you could be forgiven if you needed ear defenders for this part because things got very loud but very awesome at the same time. Francis Rossi and friends playing under Status Quo since losing the dear departed Rick Parfitt.
My boy wasn’t too keen as it was too loud for him but honestly it was brilliant. Francis was hilarious with his banter and the songs sounded as great as always!
Full disclosure, my phone battery died about half way through Rocking All Over The World, which was to be the last song. They then came back on with an encore of Burning Bridges. So it’s the full concert minus one and a bit songs…sorry! - Розваги
No matter how old he is…. He still knows and can entertain us. He has it in his blood. What a great artist.
For a man in his 70s Shaky sounds great. Well done him for having the stamina to keep going. Love the songs Shaky. You still have it. God bless you. Much love always Susan xxx❤❤❤❤🥰🙏🙏🙏👍👏👏👏👏👏
My two favourite performers Shaky and Quo how did I miss this 🤔😪
We are all getting older and so is Shaky. All respect to him if he still wants to perform. Everyone can ponder before criticizing how much Shaky has offered all of us good music lovers over the decades. Let him be as he is.
Very well spoken thank you
As an art student…I remember Shaking Stevens and the Sunsets were hired to perform by the far-sighted Students Union encouraged by our particular coterie of art/design students. And perform they did brilliantly at the top floor of the Art and Design School, Brighton Polytechnic (now University of Brighton) in 1971…There was stirring of a rock ‘n roll revival at that time…The Wild Angels were also hired to similar acclaim at the time and served as release from mainstream fading and sold out ‘popular’ culture stemming from hippie-side folk music performing at the Pavilion e.g. ‘The Incredible String Band’…additionally BBC Radio 4 ran an intense, long running series reviving historic ‘straight’ rock ‘n roll…American and British…mainly…our own art/design band…‘The Fabulous Shitts’…a proto-punk band conscious of the terminal shift into the thatcher era that the movie ‘Withnail and I’ describes epically…searching for a meaningful music/performance relevant to the times we were living…fuck getting older…I stayed twenty-five years old until I turned seventy four and a bit recently…I live in Sydney Oz now…whatever the flame still burns bright between the covers in dear old Brighton…check out The Big Push…
Good for you, @pendemusic, for explaining that age does NOT change the soul. It's very much alive and vibrant as ever. It's just a bit more mellow. The quality is still very much present. You can tell, if you REALLY listen.
Love him as always ❤ so I'm gonna see him on Kenton Theatre at September 7th ❤❤❤❤❤ 2024
Shaky, love you out loud ❤️ You'll be the KING of Rock n Roll forever and ever ❤🎉 ❤️ 🤟 💋

Shakin niech żyje 100lat🍀🌸🍀🌿🍀🫶
Brilliant stuff thanks a lot
I'm actually impressed by his vocal range, I mean he's in his 70s...
Have you heard his latest, but not his last, album: Re-Set? The video of each song on the album is posted on UA-cam. Take time to listen, really listen, and watch each video. It's an amazing album, may even be his best so far.
@@LouiseTurmenne only a few tracks, and it seems really intriguing. I should and will take the extra time to listen in is entirety
Thanks for sharing this. It was a very good concert.
I don't understand how folks can devalue the current performance of a past artist.
Would you believe, I wasn't even aware of his talent from the 70's and 80's. True, his past hits are what drew my attention, at first. But I've begun listening to his latest album, Re-Set, and I think he's far better a performer now than he has been in the past.
His age has NOTHING to do with the quality of his performance. Expectation is often a harsh and unfair judge of quality. We'd do better if we listened with our hearts first.
Very good you dun a great job filming it
Thank you!
Was at Wembley, brilliant nite, great to relive it with this 👌🏻
… was my first time (yeh yeh I know 🤦♂️)… wish I’d done it sooner when RP was still alive. Tried to get the Frantic Four tix both tours but couldn’t.
They can sure still rock ! 🤘🏻
Shaky's the KING of Rock n Roll forever and ever. Just love him out loud ❤🎉 ❤️ 🤟 💋
Come to Rome,please.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was there. Loved the extended version of Down Down. The QUO STILL ROCK.
Pity it's not a better, upload 😭
I’m sorry but it was the best I could do from the back of the auditorium on a phone💔
First song?
Status quo
Think he’s I’ll I’ve been told
Rubbish
1:09:00 😂😂😂😂
Shaking Stevens ffs what did rossi do to the once great quo
It's panto Quo
In what way?
turn brightness down on phone screen and turn on low power mode, turn off bluetooth/wifi and even full airplane mode will get your phone last long, is that an iphone ?
Yes, and thank you for the advice I will bear that in mind for the next time. Best wishes to you, sir.
My best compliments to You,could We take the coffe togher somewhere?
The new song is terrible... Sorry.. Even on the cd single I got it sounds bad.. But have you ever seen the rain is brilliant
Keep the camera still would help
Yes it's a bit shaky 😂
Well I’m sorry. I won’t upload another one. I can’t help having arthritis.
I was a huge fan of both acts but they are both past their sell by date
Not so. The artistic abilities change, yes, but if you take the time to really listen to the nuances of both vocals and music, you can appreciate those changes and even feel their subtle impact as being even more powerful a delivery.
Why can’t he sing it like the original?
Because he's getting older. He's not 30 years old anymore. The voice changes. His style of singing has changed as well, but that doesn't detract from his performance. You can't expect him to jump around on stage and scream into the mic like he used to. That is not a realistic expectation. I for one, think his voice is far better than it used to be.
Shaky looks really bad. Struggling alot
I was there and shaky come across very badly. Certainly no shaking( bit of trembling) , unrecognisable voice, zero audience banter/connection. He forgot his words, cut across the musicians solos and generally looked like a bad old karaoke singer. Band were actually decent. Quo thankfully did a great job. Missed Rick of course but new guy was great. Francis didn’t give the band a name check which I thought was poor.
Shaky sounds bad,give up lad.
Do you think he sounded better in the early 80s?
I enjoyed it myself.
@@walkingtheboogie He was good in 90's,2000 upto 2014 as I saw him live lots of times, now he's not great.
So should the main act, that ain't Quo
@@ivanpedley8256 Quo ain't the same without Rick.
@@ivanpedley8256 I disagree as Quo sounded great.
I liked Shakey but it was the first time is seen him live.
Without Rick quo are dead and that new guy just give up trying to be like Rick you will never be like the great Rick parfitt you couldn’t lace ricks shoes
Totally agree mate, Rick was a God, these guys are imposters and as for Rhino, he turned up to Rick's funeral looking like fucking Worzel Gummidge, no respect for a legend 🎸
I missed Rick so much but you know he claimed before his death that he would never play with Quo again as stuff between him and Francis got so bad. So be grateful the songs are still out there. I was at this gig and the guy replacing Rick did a fine job. It’s not his fault he’s not Rick.
Quo without alan lancaster and john coghlan is not Quo
Don’t you know Rick was very good friends with Richie and personally chose him as his replacement?
Glad I don't follow rosies quo ,shadow of the old band
Horrendous
It didn’t sound good
Oh hell, give it up Rossi, ruined and tainted quo, hard enough back in the day to avoid criticism about being a quo fan, they were awesome then too, but now even die hard quo fans are embarrassed..
Well that was awful.
Trembling quivering creaking stevens.
