I have owned 4 kias since 2015.. and I love it.. now I have kia stinger 3.3, and still have my sorrento 2016. I think kia hyndai may catch up toyota soon. If they can catch up Asian market. And now they rank #3 in the world.

I like the Telluride but it doesnt come with a diesel. I drive a lot on steeps roads so I like the torq of my current Sorento. I want a 2.2 CRDI again for this model.
It feels so premium. 2 days ago, I had a chance to take the 1st drive on it. Materials are great, sound isolation is super sweet... Driving is easy, u don't feel any cheapness in this car. So premium.

I love the current Sorento, i have the platinum version and as far as im concerned there is nothing better even at double the price. Even then it gives ever more expensive cars with a badge food for thought that reliant on said badge no longer guarantees sales. Buy one of these, pocket the change instead. This latest version looks like its changed the game again and shows what can be done by the Koreans in building a car we all are gonna love (take note sister car Hynundai Sante Fe)

I wouldn't compare the Sorento to the Telluride (inside luxury feel quality yes!), but the Sorento is a nice consolation if you don't get one. I was sad I couldn't get my hands on a 2020 Telluride, but I traded my Toyota Minivan for the 2021 Telluride Nightfall edition and I love it. I love everything about my car, so I'm a big Kia fan now, but I also do wish they would change to the new Kia logo. The new Sorento looks great, great job Kia. I guess I'll be waiting for the Hybrids on my next vehicle upgrade. I love the Car Reviews too, keep up the great work!

Great review AP! Unfortunately, I don't think this will hit the states until 2021. I may end up with the Toyota Highlander (hybrid) by year end 2020. I've also been very disappointed with Kia and the availability of the Telluride SXP here. I get they are popular, but they're not meeting demand and they're priced over MSRP. I fear the same result with the new Sorento. A good problem to have for Kia, but bad for consumers. Stay safe and thanks again for your reviews!
3:36 😮 Is that the ONE white hair on Charlie's head? 😝 I love the interior colour, especially that steering wheel! 😍 I sure hope we don't get the boring black for Australian spec. The interior design feels a bit messy, maybe it'll grow on me. The facia vents reminds me of an older model Porsche Cayenne. For a completely new 2021 model, why no USB-C ports? I'm still not sure about the nose, and the design front and rear is rather fussy. I do prefer it it over the outgoing model however, but a little disappointed it's bigger, not smaller than the older one. I think all Australian models will be 7-seater only, and I'd be interested in a PHEV petrol hybrid. And it would be good when you mention specs even if it's just on screen and not verbal, to include metric system like Litres/100km (mpg), kW (horse power) etc. Thanks!

Yes, I am very interested in how this new SmartStream diesel compares to previous generation engine. With about the same kw and torque does the new dct make for a better drive or is the old 8sp auto more refined in stop, start traffic. Looking forward to this car coming to Australia. Can you tell me what the road noise is like. Is the levels lower than current generation sorrento? You mentioned the front windows are laminated. Does it help keep the interior quiet? Here in Australia we have harsh course chip country roads and in my 2017 Optima GT, the road noise is an issue at times.

When are you likely to get a proper press car? Can you review the KRELL audio system with reference to sound quality over Harmon Kardon stereo. Can you check noise levels with a decibel meter. 0 to 100klm times. Can you also add metric calculations rather than old US imperial system.

Looks like the 8spd DCT is smooth. No jerking just by looking at the video. Has it been smooth from a stop? That’s my biggest issue with my Optima with the 7spd. The 7spd dry clutch DCT was too jerky from a stop

The hybrid version should compete quite favourably with the 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, similar size outlay but this surely looks more premium. In Canada, the top trim for the Highlander hybrid is around $56K, the Kia Sorento hybrid is expected to undercut this by several thousand dollars plus it's more premium features, would make for a higher value proposition. Bravo Kia, I am looking forward to checking it out when it arrives later this year!

Hey Charlie I heard all time during your test drive an annoying continuous whistle . What is the cause of that , your camera or , worst , the car ? Regarding the new Sorento I think is outstanding , it represend a huge step forward for some major improvements like dual clutch , 8 speed automatic transmission , awesome infotainment system and so on . I definetely wait for this car in Europe . Also I must give you a small tip if you don't mind - don't bend your body to direction of the corner street . Always in cornering drive you bend your body . It's childish .
not much for Kia until the Telluride arrived. Kia has really come a long way and is impressive. The styling of this Sorrento is fantastic. Now does the US version still carry the V6 and if so, has the V6 been improved? I read that the V6 in the Telluride is the major short fall of that vehicle. That it is an older engine design and the power band is poor at the higher range.

I wouldn't compare the Sorento to the Telluride (inside luxury feel quality yes!), but the Sorento is a nice consolation if you don't get one. I was sad I couldn't get my hands on a 2020 Telluride, but I traded my Toyota Minivan for the 2021 Telluride Nightfall edition and I love it. I love everything about my car, so I'm a big Kia fan now, but I also do wish they would change to the new Kia logo. The new Sorento looks great, great job Kia. I guess I'll be waiting for the Hybrids on my next vehicle upgrade. I love the Car Reviews too, keep up the great work!

Great review AP! Unfortunately, I don't think this will hit the states until 2021. I may end up with the Toyota Highlander (hybrid) by year end 2020. I've also been very disappointed with Kia and the availability of the Telluride SXP here. I get they are popular, but they're not meeting demand and they're priced over MSRP. I fear the same result with the new Sorento. A good problem to have for Kia, but bad for consumers. Stay safe and thanks again for your reviews!

I love the interior colour, especially that steering wheel! 😍 I sure hope we don't get the boring black for Australian spec. The interior design feels a bit messy, maybe it'll grow on me. The facia vents reminds me of an older model Porsche Cayenne. For a completely new 2021 model, why no USB-C ports?
I'm still not sure about the nose, and the design front and rear is rather fussy. I do prefer it it over the outgoing model however, but a little disappointed it's bigger, not smaller than the older one. I think all Australian models will be 7-seater only, and I'd be interested in a PHEV petrol hybrid.
And it would be good when you mention specs even if it's just on screen and not verbal, to include metric system like Litres/100km (mpg), kW (horse power) etc.

Yes, I am very interested in how this new SmartStream diesel compares to previous generation engine. With about the same kw and torque does the new dct make for a better drive or is the old 8sp auto more refined in stop, start traffic.

Looking forward to this car coming to Australia. Can you tell me what the road noise is like. Is the levels lower than current generation sorrento? You mentioned the front windows are laminated. Does it help keep the interior quiet? Here in Australia we have harsh course chip country roads and in my 2017 Optima GT, the road noise is an issue at times.

When are you likely to get a proper press car? Can you review the KRELL audio system with reference to sound quality over Harmon Kardon stereo. Can you check noise levels with a decibel meter. 0 to 100klm times. Can you also add metric calculations rather than old US imperial system.

Looks like the 8spd DCT is smooth. No jerking just by looking at the video. Has it been smooth from a stop? That’s my biggest issue with my Optima with the 7spd. The 7spd dry clutch DCT was too jerky from a stop

The hybrid version should compete quite favourably with the 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, similar size outlay but this surely looks more premium. In Canada, the top trim for the Highlander hybrid is around $56K, the Kia Sorento hybrid is expected to undercut this by several thousand dollars plus it's more premium features, would make for a higher value proposition. Bravo Kia, I am looking forward to checking it out when it arrives later this year!

Regarding the new Sorento I think is outstanding , it represend a huge step forward for some major improvements like dual clutch , 8 speed automatic transmission , awesome infotainment system and so on . I definetely wait for this car in Europe .
Also I must give you a small tip if you don't mind - don't bend your body to direction of the corner street . Always in cornering drive you bend your body . It's childish .

not much for Kia until the Telluride arrived. Kia has really come a long way and is impressive. The styling of this Sorrento is fantastic. Now does the US version still carry the V6 and if so, has the V6 been improved? I read that the V6 in the Telluride is the major short fall of that vehicle. That it is an older engine design and the power band is poor at the higher range.
