  • Hi all! ProFilo is Back on UA-cam!
This wideo shows today's chipping session. As you will see branches and twigs are not so easy to be chipped. They are small and flexilble, so knives cannot cut them correctly. The cannot be smashed corectly inside the machine, so they remain inside, blocking the whole system and obstructing the discharge pipe. Manual intervention is required.

I like how the videos on your channel portray a realistic picture of the work that is being done. If I may, I would wish for some more videos about how your wood chip boiler works. :)

Thank you really much for the comment! I really appreciate that. Yeah, for sure! In our schedule, in the next weeks, we are going to post a video about all the hydraulics/pumps of our heating plant, stay tuned!

Hi. If you have the correct clearance between the knives and counterknive you will not have that blocking problem. That kind of material is difficult to chip anyway. Stay strong. Good video.

Hi! You totally get the point! The knife / counter knife cleareance, in this case, was set for big trunks and other kind of material, for sure not very small branches such as those in the video. But, as you said, the material is difficult to chip anyway...so... bye!

    Lieto di conoscerti.
    Aspetto sempre i tuoi video.
Il motivo è perché utilizza lo stesso cippatore del video.
    Ho una domanda.
Se lavori principalmente sulle foglie, si intaserà sempre.
    Ci sono soluzioni migliori? ?
    Puoi darmi qualche consiglio?

Hi! Thank you for the comment. Well the only advice I can give you is trying to avoid that kind of material. A good solution may be to use a mix of branches/tree tops and material with leaves. This is because the wood will move out of the wood chipper the lighter materal (leaves). I don't have any other idea on how to extract only leaves from the wood chipper: they are too light and soft, they can't pass through the smashing grid at the beginning of the extraction channel.
Another solution, if you have this kind of material, is to remove the smashing grid at the bottom of the extraction channel, so that leaves would come out easily. But remember that in this way you won't chip anymore longer pieces of wood. And if you have leaves, I assume you do have tree tops, that are those producing long pieces of wood chip: you for sure need that grid in the extraction channel. But if you have only leaves, you can try that. Let me know!

@@kabuto-qm4vg hi! Yoeah, you are right, I won't dismount the grid, otherwise, as you said, even if you chip a small piece of wood, you'll end up having long pieces...and for sure you don't want these.
If it is only leaves, then I'll think about it. Or maybe (thinking about it now) you can design by yourself a new one, with s bit larger holes. But unfirtunately, I think that leaves are not the best material to be chipped with this machine. About the nails...they are not so easy. My dad removes them manually, because we don't want to ruin the shredder's tooths. But we od this just to recover a bit of good material from wood pallets. That's not really sustainable from and industrial point of view. Let's say that also this material is not the best one to be treated. Or you can bus specific machinery able to eat also iron nails: they are smached into small chip, then a magnet takes them away from the final product. But they cost much more and they require more maintenance. What kind of material do you have to treat?

@@kabuto-qm4vg I'm glad to hear that in Japan you have industrial plants like these! Reusing wood wastes to produce wood chip, then thermical and electrical energy is a very good thing.
Absolutely fantastic. Here in Italy, especially in my region, we do not have that much culture. But I hope something will change, considering the current energetical situation.
What dimension is your plant? How much material cna you handle?
Also glad to hear that you have the same machinery FARMI PROFI CH27 to transform your material How does it work wit the material you have?
I know that iron and nails are not the best thing to be handled, but I imagine that big plants such as yours may have the possibility to find a solution. Let me know how you'll handle the problem, I'm curios about it!
