Wow! Thank you. I will be trying this soon. Was always wondering if water therapy might work for lithops.

It works but don't soak too long, they might over water if we leave it in the water for a long period. Remove it when you see root growth.

Do you think we can successfully grow them in water? As long as the body does not touch the water? I recieved my lithops, but my pots have not arrived. I was thinking of doing this and air drying the roots after.

Hi MQ, there is no rush to plant your Lithops unless it is very wrinkly and needs water. Generally if you don't plant for 1 month they will still stay strong for you, maybe the body a bit soft because they are dehydrated. overall they will be ok until you get your pots if it is not a long wait. No harm trying the method you just mentioned while waiting for your pot. Ensure you trim the fine roots away, let the root callus 2-3 days, after you plant into dry and not damp soil mix. No watering until after 1 week letting Lithops roots get aquatinted to the soil and Lithops to your environment.

I have already potted them, it's been two weeks. While some have plumped up after watering, some still remain very wrinkled. I'm watering it once a week, should I water more frequently or stick to once a week but more water? I'm watering like 10ml each time, is that sufficient?

@@mq3018 since it is already 2 weeks and I assumed you have watered twice based on weekly watering, those that plump up shows that roots have grown, you did a good job. Those that are wrinkle remove them, and repot in another pot. This is to avoid overwatering those that are growing well. I realised many sellers teach to water 10ml watering technique. This would not work for me, because for me roots grow better when soil is completely watered. Do not forget to use rooting powder or HB101 Vitaliser. Our RSLL SHOP in shopee have good respond for the HB101, and I only use this for all my plants watering. They grow healthy, better colour and encourage root growth fast.

@@justkeepitsimple3096 ah cool, noted on the HB101. I already have them all potted in individual pots. As for now, I'll just give the ones that are wrinkled a good soak and those that are no longer wrinkled I don't water? Or still water? I'll check out your shopee account.

@@mq3018 those that are not wrinkle don't need watering. They are happy. Until you see wrinkles then give them good watering. Also ensure the spot you put is not humid and hot with minimal wind ventilation. This are some of the reason suddenly they jelly due to heat.

May I ask how this lithop is currently doing now? I have two super dehydrated lithops here, one with trimmed roots, one only have a tiny root in soil (Been watering so much to help but it isnt helping), I would like to try water therapy on them so may I ask for how many days I should let the cut calluses over before trying this for the trimmed one? Should l trim the only root of the second one and let it grow water roots? Thanks...

Lithops is doing ok. Remove the Lithops from the soil and trim away the dry fine roots which no longer active. Let it callus 2-3 days depending on the thickness of the roots. You then try the water therapy method. 2nd option is add rooting powder into your soil and water after 1 week, see if the roots grow. Do not repeatedly take out the Lithops to check root growth, gently touch the Lithops, if it is firmly sitting on soil and not shaky then the roots have develop.
