Looking through the comments it's truly Amazing to see how many people have no idea what real coffee tastes like. Foldgers is one of the worst coffee brands in the market, wake up people. Try something that actually tastes good before you talk shit.
I gotta pin your comment to the top! It shocks me too honestly. Too many people thinking bottom shelf coffee is top shelf. Thanks brother.
Ohh u mean bitter coffee that seems thick. Gross.
Shhh. Let people enjoy things.
I mean what’s it to the next asshole what coffee someone else drinks ? The way I see it, if I’m paying for it and the next person isn’t contributing a penny , I’ll buy what I buy regardless. The problem with this world , everyone thinks their opinions matter to what the next man does with his money.. it’s unreal.
Y'all are the same people who don't wash your meats or season your food, but you're so hyped up about coffee 😒
The Folgers aroma died when they quit vacuum packing metal cans... cheap plastic is no substitute!
Honestly, you should try the folgers black silk.. It has much more flavor
Call me a Hater, Unbeliever, or Folgers Elitist or What Have you but I Really Don’t Understand the Issue with Folgers it Honestly Tastes Good to Me
Also The No Smell Makes no Sense to me
If a person’s baseline taste is Folgers, of course it might taste good. My baseline taste is nothing bougie or overpriced, but it is whole bean coffee roasted within the week. That is significantly more aromatic and fresh compared to ground Folgers that has been sitting for months on end on a shelf at Target and probably from beans that are of substandard quality. That is where my comparison comes from. Not trolling or acting like a coffee snob, but when you’ve tried genuinely amazing fresh coffee, Folgers will taste like dirty water. That’s all.
I've been drinkin whole bean coffee for several years, made my own coffee, drank Nespresso. Recently I got Folgers Gourmet Supreme (never had it before), it was the most delicious smelling coffee I've had, and it tastes great, so honestly have no clue what this dude's on. If he just doesn't like it that's one thing, but I wouldn't call it bad by any stretch of the imagination
How do you drink your coffee? Sugar, creamer?
@@xhynetuseinovski milk and sugar
folgers brings me back to the 90s when my dad uses to make it everymorning
I see to many comments about only true coffee lovers do this or that. If ou're a TRUE coffee lover you'll just let everyone enjoy what they like and be fine with it.
eh
Folgers was my dad’s go to as a kid, but he would get the whole bean ones. The can still gives me flashbacks to his loud ass electric coffee grinder haha, I HATED the sound as a kid lmao
Try dollar store coffee sometime. You'll have to call 911. 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I was (and still am?) a coffee geek too but after having yerba-mate for the first time (Guyaki mint flavor) I have become a big fan of the clean caffeine high I get from that instead. If you haven't tried it yet I recommend you give it a shot! You might find yourself becoming a fan of Yerba like yourself and buying loose tea leaves of it and making that instead sometimes or most times!
If I don’t drink coffee I’ll drink black turkish tea with mint and some sugar. Really tasty. But thanks for the recommendation on the yerba. any particular brand and where do you buy it?
First - really enjoyed some of the "comedic" elements in the video. Nice Job!
Second - it is my firm belief that something changed with Folgers around two years ago (late Covid era). After years of waiting in line at Starbucks (us old folks do not like to wait in line) I started buying Folgers Classic that you used - and also the decaf version. Using a Moccamaster at home (no waiting in line and a nice coffee maker) it was actually not too bad - not gourmet - but - not bad and was drinkable (black - no adders for me). Then, around late 2021 - I had a container that had a chamical smell. Oh well - just a bad batch...so - I went to different grocery stores (in different towns no less) over the course of about 6 months and every one was the same! Had a major chaemical smell and tasted absolutely horrible.
So - went to SB and had them ground Veranda beans and make at home. That was going well - and now in early 2023 - cant seem to find Veranda whole beans in the SB locations...
Oh well - now thinking I will just drink water! (I will check out your links in the description though - that may be a good start - thanks for the suggestions!)
I can drink mine straight out of the pot, or with a spoon of honey, I also like to add creamer every now and then. Just really depends on how I feel like having my coffee that day. Foldgers is amazing to me. You want to judge some bad coffee, get some maxwell house or some nasty ass great value brand coffee.
Try freshly roasted coffee, you’ll understand. Thanks for watching though.
@@xhynetuseinovski re reading that comment I made, I didn’t mean for it to sound rude. Really. Lol I would love to try fresh ground but time wise, it’s just not an option for me. Lol foldgers is probably the best ground coffee there is… unless you count community coffee. Lol but I can’t even afford that all the time. Really I hope you didn’t get offended. But I was just wanting to give you more options of very bad coffee… and those were prime examples of the worst coffee ever, including 7-11 coffee. 🤢
Folgers is or used to be unique. You could get it in a massive tin can that many people thought added to the flavor; Many truckers and farmers would prefer this for thier recipe of "mud" coffee. Extremely strong coffee that tasted horrible but always kept you awake. I still stand by folgers from my farmer upbringing. East bound and down boys and girls.
Maxwell House is amazing Folgers taste like shit .
I've been a long-time drinker of standard American store coffee in a drip coffee maker, but I've always been heavy on the cream and sugar, so that helps. I was raised on a farm in the 60s and early 70s. Also, a long time in the Army as an NCO, so a lot of things pass for coffee. Quantity and caffeine meant a lot. I've enjoyed good coffee now and then over the years, but ran the usual stuff as just another part of the day. But yeah, at this point I'm going to go more whole bean, grind my own, and enjoy using different brewing methods. I'm the only person who drinks coffee here and I'm retired. Time to enjoy tinkering with coffee and tea. On a budget, of course. I ain't rich retired.
Side note: If you use Cowboy Kent Rollins' (here on UA-cam) way of making Cowboy Coffee it really does make a big difference with Folgers or other standard grocery store coffee. It's simple, but takes the bitterness out and actually makes it palatable black. I'm sure it would be even better with fresh beans, freshly ground, but it does make pre-ground, common coffees better than from drip.
i am using folgers colombian medium roast, tbh it taste really nice and smell strong. they have now seal bottle. i drink it neat without anything adding. if someone know better than this please let me know
I feel the same way you do. The only difference is mine has an odd smell! Whole bean's is the way to go if you are a true coffee lover.
Finally there’s one person who understands coffee lol. It’s crazy how brand loyalty can blind you to what’s actually better in quality.
In 2015 they changed from 60/40 arabica/robusta to 40/60 LOL
Really is this legal?! Thanks for the feedback but i will make and drink what I was already paid for.
So true I work as emergency registered nurse for very busy hospital and all over the hospital they have Folgers coffee I never drink
I personally like it. 🤷🏻♀️
I was looking for video on what to do with Expired Coffee (not sure if it was expired. Cause the smell and the taste 🤢). Then came accross to your video. What did you do with the rest... I can't drink it... and finding ways to use it another way instead of drinking it.
Anything but drink lol. you’ll have to google that one
lol I bought this once to try it but didn't really like it, so I followed your video to make cold brew, I didn't really like the taste, so I added a creamer to it and it was drinkable.
Creamer is the only way with folgers…lots of it lol.
@@xhynetuseinovski I actually double filter my coffee. It’s the true Italian method.
Really well-made video. Also, you have such a nice calming disposition + good humor.
Thank you 🙏🏻
To me, Folgers always has notes of used motor oil
Ok I’ll try it imma get a coffee bean grinder nothing to expensive just to try it
I bet you didnt regret that buy did u?
Big Box coffees like Fogers Dark isn't really very dark. (probably thankfully).
Folgers is to coffee what Taco Bell’s beef is to beef. Do I need to explain any further? 😂
Folgers, pretty good. College dining hall coffee, can't finish a cup. Wonder what that says.
Folgers is actually the most expensive coffee where I live. I only have access to a super walmart and some grocery stores though. The stuff is horrible. I got 2 free cans of it so am finishing them off. I usually order mine off amazon and get what ever brand I want. One thing I will say though as that I consider coffee makers to be unusable. I boil my coffee grounds. Gets rid of the bitterness and releases a lot more flavor. Also stretches the coffee. You don't need as much coffee boiling it. Just boil in a pot and strain it into a thermos. Most call it cowboy coffee because thats how they did it traditionaly but I just keep it real and call it boiled coffee :P lol.
Don't drink Maxwell House then
It's not What it used to be. They changed it. 1850 is alot better, if you can find it.
I agree I have bought Folgers for years and I don't have been in search of good coffee I gave away three 12oz cans, bucket, containers.
I use to love Folgers Columbian coffee, however, something has happened to the taste. I first thought that maybe it was a bad batch, so I went and bought another can of Folgers. Still tasted the same.... weak, no taste, just terrible. It actually made my stomach hurt. Not sure what Folgers has done, but the coffee is terrible now!! I don't like Starbucks, because it smells weird. Can anyone recommend a good ground coffee, besides Maxwell house??? I might have to start grinding my own coffee.
Dunkin Donuts ground coffee is pretty good, comes in a few different varieties, and most grocery stores carry it ( at least around here in the midwest).
I emailed folgers. They told me they found a different way to roast ie cheaper way to roast resulting in poor flavor. Also notice their canister size has decreased but still claims it makes the same amount of 6 oz cups. They are lying right to your face. Someone should sue this company. . Owned by smuckers jelly I think.
I had that happen with Folgers Dark Roast a couple times... maybe a newbie on the production line?
Peet's Major Dickason's dark roast blend.
I was just doing a little research earlier. Apparently, a few years ago Folgers switched from a 60% Arabica/40% Robusto to a 40/60 ratio with the cheaper Robusto beans being the predominant bean. For a fast and basic start, I usually use a cheap drip coffee maker and Folgers classic (It's what I have) and a heavy dose of coconut sugar, a splash of Torani sugar-free French Vanilla syrup, and Half & Half. In other words, the Folgers is just a carrier for the other stuff. LOL. But yes, they did change things up in a bad way.
I've bought Folgers Colombian coffee for years and have recently noticed the very obvious weakness in the brew. I'd probably get better taste and wake-up from bilge water (wood boat), but since most boats are fiberglass now, that's not going to work either. I'm going to try the whole bean & grinder suggestion.
I tried Folgers. It's not bad. Now, Maxwell House, that's what you've gotta watch out for.
I tried Maxwell and had to throw it out. Rather have folgers
you are absolutely spot on. We stopped drinking Folgers Black Silk as of last week. This is our 3rd container and it smells coffeewise odorless, smells like the dirt in my plants and absolutely tasteless. I dont know what has happened to it. We’ve taken 3 containers back thinking we just got a bad batch. It has become a total ripoff of your money.. Last one I took back I got a refund. As soon as that seal was cracked, I thought to my self "No way is someone gonna convince me this is still Folgers coffee". The container still "looks" like coffee but that's where the similarity ends. This is an up date. Bought Dunkin Donuts coffee brand and the same results. After throughly examining the package, I discovered the problem - they are both a Smuckers brand. So disappointed and close to giving up coffee altogether. It's become an expensive ripoff.
I wish others could have the same realization like us 🤯
Folgers is disgusting.
I can't handle much caffeine, I have neurological issues.
Cafe Bustelo decaf is really decent. It does come ground. I drink my coffee with a little heavy cream, sometimes a little dark chocolate as well. I don't ever add sugar. I don't consume sugar with regularity.
I'm going to try getting my own coffee grinder and buying high-quality decaf coffee beans...
Can you do a review on Maxwell house? See what you think 🤔 JM
Maybe it’s like how some people think cilantro tastes like soap. I’ve never had a good cup of Folgers no matter how I made it. It has this gross after taste that just coats your tongue.
I don't have that issue. I have had two different brands from Folgers the french blend and coffee house blend. It's the kind that can be made in a french press or into cold brew
No folders smells amazing man 😂😂 if someone gave me maxwell house, for free it would just sit there lmao 🤢
Yes I do agree the Folgers is Tasteless no aroma when brewed. JM
🤷♂️ better than Maxwell House?
I Always grind fresh beans for my Bambino ........but I still need a spot 10% cream and honey ......you drank Folgers with nothing in it ! scary ......
yeah… brutal.
Can you at least recommend your favorite brand?
Lol i swear no one watches videos these days. I mention it in the video and it’s the first thing in the description line bro.
Try Folgers Black Silk. It is NOT the same as the other Folgers varieties.
The french and coffee house blends are pretty good. The ones that can be used in a french press or into cold brew
I just recently found wood chips in my Folgers ground coffee… I’m done
Shouts out to the Copley Crew.
7:23 squad
Great video
one happy customer. thank you :)
The best part of waking up is not Folgers in my cup.
I'm not sure why people are so quick to defend Folgers. It must be some sentimental attachment to the past. Maybe the commercial around Christmas of Jimmy coming home for the holidays and mom greeting him with a cup of acidic brown water. The greatest affront to humanity is the fact you can get that same coffee in K cup form. Can you imagine single use plastic being used to make a cup of what's the equivalent of Wonder Bread to real bread? People....if that's all you can afford o.k. If you drink it because that's all you know then you need to get out more. I inherited a giant tub of that same coffee over the holidays that I'm still trying to suffer through until it's used up (I can't stand food waste). Even with a ton of cream and sugar, you can still taste bad coffee. Great video!
You look like a young Robert England. Nice video.
Dude, Trader Joe’s whole bean organic Sumatra in a French press. 👌🏻
freeze dried coffee is fine to drink, since you add milk and sugar to mask the taste of the bitter coffee. Nothing surpasses a fresh cup of double espresso in the morning, and the American style drip coffee is far too weak for my Australian palette.
Folgers is good till you try the good kind smells good tho
Also yes ik it’s weird but when I was 3 my mom would let us eat coffee grounds and we ate it like it was nothing everyone else that did it says it’s mega bitter young kids are weird
Folgers is indeed terrible, Maxwell House Original Roast is better by some degree. Honestly, the best bargain coffee that I've found is Krogers 100% Columbian or Kroger French Roast. Basically I agree there are better options at a reasonable price far less than what you'd pay at a coffee shop. .
Literally spot on
I have no problem with folgers .. I ,like the 100% Colombian. Been drinking it 10 plus yrs but it’s not my fav. I switched to community coffee. Local brand and its 100x better but Folgers did the trick for over 10 yrs
I'm partial to Caribou Coffee, but that's just me.
You have to try bustelo coffe it’s ground but vacuum packed it’s the best coffee above all
I have tried it. NASTY
@@Smitty0907 what i think about Folgers exactly 😂 Folgers tasted like a nasty beans adulterer coffee meanwhile Bustelo is pure ground cold pressed coffee won’t go for anything other than when k Merced s shot of expreso
I prefer the hazelnut variety. Usually original blends usually taste awful. I'd rather buy freeze-dried instant coffee over that red folgers.
Try the Columbian coffee by folgers. It's actually really good. The Classic Roast by Folgers sucks
Yeah I agree w ya. There are def. better options out there. Was a very humorous video. *Mt. Hagen is actually pretty good.
haha thanks bro.
Very educational! 😂
You’ve been warned lol
blast off you say when you turn it on😅.
to the moon!
Well... there's a reason why Sam's Club used to sell 51oz of Folgers ground coffee in a container for $10.
It's budget acid dirt water.
I miss Folger’s spokeswoman, Mrs Olson. Back in the 70s it was my dad’s favorite coffee but Folger’s back then was mountain grown and I noticed the package no longer has that notation so maybe they changed the types of beans.
Maxwell House for life!
Revolution ban on Folgers
I can't stand Folgers either. To me it tastes like burnt coffee that's been sitting there for a day. The bitterness is too much for me. I know it's not because it is "strong" because I've had dark roasts that are delicious and do not make my stomach go acid for the rest of the day.
Agreed!
Heck if you don't have a coffee grinder then most grocery stores have one in the coffee isle so just buy a bag of whole bean and then stand there and grind it yourself so that you will end up with fresher coffee grinds and get the full affect of whole bean coffee for free!
bro, agreed!
The only reason to buy this coffee is because it is cheap. People will always defend the products they buy , but the truth is if Folgers cost the same as good bean coffee they would not buy it.
3:33...might wanna go get C-19 tested if you smell nothing. Not sayin' it's great, or even good, but it definitely has a smell.
every nose is different my friend thanks for watching!
@@xhynetuseinovski dude. You included zero factual information in this video to argue (for or against frankly) the coffee you tasted. And as the person above said, you can smell the shit across the room when you open the can, even if you have had it for 2 weeks. This was a very biased and unprofessional review. You should be ashamed.
Bruh! I was drinking Folgers while watching this. I agree it’s the worst coffee I’ve ever had.
I cant drink black coffee, its harsh and bitter and tastes like cigarette ash. I remember back when I worked at the starbucks roasting plant and they would have mandatory fucking coffee taste testing every time they have a new blend of coffee. Creamer is what makes coffee complete.
hey creamer isnt a bad idea sometimes. i look the hazenut coffeemate!
It tastes like canned green beans to me
You should start buying a better brand of green beans. Just a thought.
Completely unrelated to the video but as an iPhone 12 mini user, I was absolutely thrilled to finally see someone else using one. Quite the rarity it seems.
You too?!? Thank god lol. It’s really true though people just want the biggest fastest phone even if it looks like an iPad lol. I think it’s the perfect size.
Do you clean your Vans? That’s the ultimate question.
I agree. Folgers really is bad. Maxwell House (Columbian) is the far superior coffee.
The part when you said about people can drink it cause they put creamer made me laugh cause it's so true
Folgers use to be good. Now you find wood stems and wood chippings in it.
wood chips? what the heck.
No they said its roach pieces ☕️
Did you Just Say Wood Chips?
What the Fuck!?!? 😂
The fact you say it has no smell made me stop watching this because a fresh opened container of folders is very fragrant...it... smells.. like.. FOLDERS!
Crack open a can of Illy. Brew it. Come back when you’ve done so. We can talk then.
It use to be good in the 80s now it's the sh$ts
For anyone who’s feelings were hurt, take a deep breath, it’s just a video, you can still go to the store and buy your Folgers. Watch the whole video and you’ll see it’s not a personal attack but an honest review on very cheap, budget coffee. Thanks!
You sir are a coffee snob. Folgers rules.
MJB Columbian is the best
what is MJB stand for?
Max J. Brandenstein
It taste really good huh the original really sucks though
AS GOD AS MY WITNESS!!!
it is total trash it don't even smell or taste like coffee I purchase a large and trash it
This is the stuff you drink if you want intant bowel monements
only weird people drink coffee straight LMAO i only drink it with creamer so ground coffee doesn't taste bad for me!!
MCDOALDS AND DUNKIN ARE THE BEST
. FOLGERS IS HONABLE MENTION AT BEST..
It is awful coffee . A few years ago it was fine but now it is gross . I don't know what happened to it. It is the same with Nabob coffee. It tastes awful. After watching this video I went to the kitchen and opened the can of Nabob coffee and smelled it. It smelled stale . Disgusting ! I only drink one cup of coffee each morning and it would be nice to have a good cup of coffee . Even McDonald's coffee tastes shitty and it's not my taste buds. Even pork tastes like cardboard and beef is so tough . WTF is going on. I bought a ham last month and we couldn't eat it. There was more fat on it than meat and I had to throw it out.
THE FOLGERS EXPERIENCE
Classic. Medium roast. $5.30 at Target the other day.
Aroma: Something burning, sweaty onions, vaguely reminiscent of bad coffee.
Flavor: Outside of being immensely bitter and sharp, its void of any life or cup notes. It is truly disgusting and I’m not sure how people drink this “coffee.”
With cream: Tried it with some Hazelnut cream I had on hand to see how it might hold. Goes totally flat outside of an unpleasant, smokey aftertatse. Does not have any coffee flavor at all. Tastes like nuclear cream water.
Worst coffee I’ve ever had. Half a cup too many left me feeling sick to my stomach.
If you drink Folgers, why (and how)?
😳
Big cans bad
folgers coffee is a very crapy coffee. Tim Hortons is better. if your coffee grouds dont have a good smell to it it means its shity.
spoiler alert!!! he doesnt do anything until 7 minutes
creamer want help
Never in my life will I put folgers in my body again. By far best decision watching this video and worst decision ever trying folgers.
amen lol
Bad coffee
Coffee is coffee lol
FOLGER'S taste horrible it taste like ground up Aspirin and burnt Hazelnut CHESTNUT HILL .
Folgers taste like paper
agreed!
The Truth: 8:51 lol
This guy knows nothing!! 10$ large can of Folgers at Costco is where it’s at !!! Folgers is the best period
👍🏻
