I don’t think any parent would ever want to give up their child for any reason. Unfortunately, families in China are unable to afford the medical care the child needs. Heart Breaking that it comes to this.

I had a neighbor who was a refugee from the former Soviet Union and she was taking care of her severely mentally handicapped daughter even though she was in her 70s and the daughter was in her 40s. She even slept in the same bedroom as her daughter. And my grandparents took care of my disabled aunt until they died even though they didn't always have enough to eat before the existence of food stamps and food banks as they are today.
I agree, there is a lot of kids wanting a home but for some people they can't afford it. I have heard it is pretty hard to adopt. I really want to adopt when I get older if I can
Sgmd when the parents adopt kids from here, they need to make donations, and the institution will use the money to pay for other kids’ medical care. I volunteered in institutions like this, it’s how it works

It broke my heart. How parent can give up a life...a life that they bring on this earth! When I finally get pregnant , after 6 long years, with IVF. I was afraid...can we really cheat on nature ? what if he is not normal? My husband look at me and said: if that's the case we will love him even more ...we are his parents if we don't love him who will? That was one of the sweetest thing my husband said...and he is a wonderful dad today! So really, it's broke my heart. Those kids deserve another chance and have love from adapted parents.

There was a one child policy back then so you could not have more than one child. If you got a girl the first time, you were allowed to try again for a boy. If you got a boy, you kept both children. If you got another girl, you had to abandon the youngest one if you hadn't enough money to pay for the fee. It was very hard on the families. And it wasn't just in the one place. It was in multiple places in China, if not China entirely. Also, if you did not pay the fee, yes you would be punished. You might lose your job, home and probably more. It was a risk but it was worth it back then. People wanted sons because they worked in proper jobs and earned actually money. They were the "useful" ones. The girls had to work at home, mind future kids, care for the their parents and we're sent off for marriage and then had to mind their spouse's parents. This was happening because China only had a limited amount of money at the time and so they invented the "one child policy" to help with the country's financial issues. But it was very unfair. And very hard. On everyone.
Usually those second child rules only applied to farming families though right? Not to all. And minorities were still allowed to have more kids. It's weird, when I was in China I met soooo many people who has siblings, it was weird. They relaxed the rules now, but a lot of the kids in the kindergarten I worked with were still older than those rules. Their parents all had decent amounts of money, so I guess they just paid the fees/ they were minorities/ other reasons
Keyuan is still in that same orphanage. When I saw him I was like awww. (He is the one who is born without any ears) all of the kids he grew up with left the orphanage so that means that same little girl Serena interviewed is gone. He is eight years old and China's adoption laws say that 14 is the maximum age limit. This is really sad. I pray that these kids get adopted.

China should help parents to look after their disabled children like offering them a disability allowance and educate ppl about physical and mental disability. Not just trow them into orphanages OK! It's a shame that they got money to built roads for other countries but can't deal with their social injustice
If baby crying check the diaper if there's a poop or full of pee or hungry.. why no bed they need pillow and bed . Why this is brutal... Dint hurt a baby if crying they are innocent baby angel 🙏 gift from god 🙏... Look if they hungry or sleepy .. or they have fever or there stomach hurts... Love the babies dont abuse them.. I wish all baby in orphanage finds a parents adopt them..love them and carrying them..like there mother watching from manila Phillipines 🌹🇵🇭

She didn't show the dying room. Every orphanage in china has a dying room for babies and kids. If you can find that video in UA-cam, I recommend you watch it.
