- This song stands alone as the first class ship so to speak of Paul banks obsession with the sea and Ambiguity. you can really taste the barrio of investigation in the riff that starts to play a few bars after the bass line engulfs the song. My favorite line of lyrics is at the end when Paul sort of begins to mumble the lyrics: ("Honey bee, you should be through with this,
your packaged eyes, your vicious lips,
You could be young, but you're out of touch
If this love's been done, then what's your rush?") it mirrors the same tone he uses in the hidden lyrics to Stella was a diver where he says: ("She lies in nowhere, She lies in no place, She lies")
I would have to say that out of all the songs where Paul refers to the sea: "Take you on a cruise" "Public Pervert" "A time to be small" "Stella was a diver" "Specialist" takes the cake for Ambiguity! Interpol Stands Alone as my all time favorite band!!
If listening for the first time, give it some time. This slowly grew on me and is now my favorite song ever. It is truly epic - it just takes your mind, body, and soul to a different place.
One of those songs that are so good that I only allow myself to listen rarely because they are sacred

The lyrics in Rest My Chemistry hit me so hard when I first heard it. I remember the time I first heard it when I downloaded it onto my mP3 without hearing first because I knew I would've loved it because of the fact that Interpol created it. I was riding in the back of the bus and it played and I was looking out the window pretending it was a music video (lol) and when the Chorus played it hit so hard I almost cried. Such powerful music!
Every time I listen to this song, I can't help but consider it one of the most beautiful and exciting things I have ever heard in my life!

@ PabloCorinthian Interpol is all about Seas, Boats, fucking women, and TIME! Count how many times he mentions the word time in Bright Lights and Antics put together. Myriad times. By the way, does anyone else notice the message in this song about necrophilia? Or am I just sick in the head to think that up? The line "you shouldnt be alone in there you should be above ground" is what hinted it for me.

This song reminds me of someone really close to me, but I fucked up and now I am paying the price of it. I feel as if i was listening to this back then i would have known how to be patient and how to be more understanding. But the regret will haunt me for a long time, but that's what life is, a series of regrets that will allow you to become a better person.
@Incande5cente well for me this song is about someone that loses someone they love, either in death or in they just part ways, but he still wants to be the best thing for her and or feels responsible for what happened but thats what i feel this song is about
