For example, in knockout a shield gear can help you tank an additional shot from other snipers, and I think the damage gear is always worth having in emergency scenarios. I think in most situations you are better off with 2 non gadget gears because they impact almost every interaction you have in the game, the gadget gear will only impact 1 interaction. Sometimes that wins you games, but I would argue that most of the time having 3 well used gadgets is enough to win a game.
Another possible nerf would to not nerf the gear itself but very slightly nerf the gadget itself when you have the gear equipped. Some brawlers would still really benefit from an extra charge of a slightly needed gear so I think that this would be a good rework of the gead

I think the rework could be getting a gadget use each 5 kills. High risk, high reward. Either that or shorten the cooldown by a lot between each use instead of 1 more use.
I guess to nerf it they’d have to pull from other in game mechanics, like +1 gadget, but each time you use a gadget you lose 25%-33% health, but that would affect healing gadgets, that’s just an idea, but probably a better idea would be your 4th gadget would be 25% less affective, or tweak the percentage to be balanced, a gadget that lasts 4 seconds would last, 3, a gadget that pulls enemies 8 tiles would pull 6, a gadget that heals 1000 health would heal 750 health, BUT ONLY ON THE 4TH GADGET.
I think one way to balance this gear could be to bring back the old gadget balancing they did by making certain gadgets have one less use, and for the gadget gear to simply return that lost use back up to 3. It wouldn’t feel very good because I always felt like this balancing was lazy, but it would be one way to at least put a bandaid on the issue.
There is definitely a way to nerf this gear. One that came to my mind is that during the 4th gadget usage, any type of ability of the gadget is reduced by 30-50% (Like speed, duration, damage, time limit, etc.) or they could also just increase the cooldown for the 4th gadget to be used. By that I mean how much time it will take to recharge the gadget for the 4th use.
This gear gives you a passive fourth gadget use. The nerf should be a drawback on the gear itself. For example "Gives +1 gadget per game, BUT, you take 3% more damage from all sources, or, you lose 5% reload speed while its equipped. Ofcourse im not a stats man, but there should be some way to add a drawback to really strong gadgets, without making the drawback too ridiculous I hope.
They could make the gear become: 'you can use both your brawler's starpowers' or 'you can use both your brawler's gadgets, but only two for each of them' but that would be even more broken 😂

I honestly don't think that this gear is as broken as people say it is. Reason being is that it's pretty brawler dependent (most gears are dependent on something to be good). Of course, people say it's broken because the brawlers it's good on are currently meta. Given some of them aren't "meta", but still.
Instead of needing gadget gear I think the scaling should be worked around gadget gear like possibly buffing other gears to make everything viable options
