The Hybrid Hunter has done me right this year. I live on Conroe and I know you mentioned throwing it when you were here, but for myself its caught some bigs this year👍
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 lake Conroe primarily but everyone on the TXKBL trails. I think part of it is knowing when to pick it up. I’m not a great fisherman to be clear 😂 and not saying the bait is bad or good. Just my personal experience
I don't know if I need the shallow or not. I've learned to fish the H2 with my rod tip high when fishing shallow and am very comfortable doing so. Hybrid Hunter is my favorite bait by far . I don't even use a square bill or chatter bait the last two seasons just the H2 . I've caught more fish by far on it. But I also believe it's not for everyone. It has to for your style of fishing
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 what power and action rod are you fishing this on in okeechobee and heavy hydrilla lakes? I’m using the 7’4H Diawa Rebellion Glass rod. Appreciate your advice
So you can throw the Hybrid Hunter on Braid. Looks like the rod you were throwing it on was not as powerful as what you normally throw it on. Love those new colors, caught a few nice smallmouth already on the Jr shallow in Gold craw in 1 to 3 feet in ice clear water.
Yea but we are talking red fish where once they bite it you just hold on, it's a totally different deal. They also don't jump or hit different. Everyone down there also throws little light rods because the way they fight and the drag system, its just different is all I can say.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 I would agree with that. And I would say you are not worried about making a big hole in there lips like you do with bass or smallmouth.
Todd I love your videos brother you're an awesome fisherman I'm an OG fisherman myself but I got to ask you something what about the Rapala shallow running Shad rap with the step down lip it's basically the same thing except a round fat body?? I've been catching speckled trout and redfish for years here in North Carolina just wondering if you could answer that for. Buddy I hope you have a great tournament season.
@@toddcastledinefishing5924 I caught a bonefish and those little buggers fight for their size. Fastest swimming fish I’ve ever caught. I’ve caught a lot of big flatheads on Ray Roberts on jigging spoons. They’ll pull the nose of my 20’ Champion around. I’ve had some I never turned and they would eventually run under a submerged tree.
You know after a front moves thru and the bite changes, there’s only a few baits that u can still reach for. Adjust the retrieve and they still eat it when all the other moving baits stop producing. Leave it tied on.
It has been, but when you aren't sponsored by them and you know the power, you keep it hidden. Go look at some past years in Florida in the Elites they were using it on TV. Kinda like saying a spinnerbait or a vibrating jig is no good anymore cause there hasn't been a WIN on it lately. It's all livescope, dosent mean those baits don't work. Just asking a bait only works if it wins a classic or Redcrest?
Also, it caught the largest fish so far this year on the BPT. If you wondering who and when I'll give you a hint it was on Toledo. I know for a fact, one I got the phone call, 2 when he did his own video go take a close look you can see it. It wasnt aired cause it was on day 1, and he's not sponsored by SK. Lots of guys throw it just keep it under wraps, heck I did for 10 years. No upside for them on letting it out.
Man, that looked like a lot of fun for sho! Hybird Hunter strikes again!
I have slade the reds on the hybrid hunter in the Bayou here in Texas

Your hooks held up good to that pressure, also the sexy dawg is a killer on them reds!
Boy said it started out Crome end up bone but still hooken em in the dome !! 😂😂
I think we were in a conversation about people who want to return baits after they caught a 100 fish on it and the paint had worn off.
I have been using the HH for going on 3 years here in southeast Louisiana and it’s awesome and I have hammered the marsh bass and reds
i just made an order for a few of these. ill use them on my guntersville trip next month.
Awesome video
Best fishing in the world , crank bait is perfect for there
Bought em because of you and never had a bite to this day. Literally fish per your instructions and mimic your videos as much as possible.
What lakes
They eat it big and small in North East Texas

I fish a bunch of northeast rivers. Many of them don’t have a lot of grass or weeds. Been wondering whether I should try it?
I been on 5 trips since buying HH. Been bit at least once everytime I've thrown it
Greetings from the BIG SKY. I've heard of this bait before. Never held one.
I bought some because of you

I fish the Jr. Only because I'm in Kansas but when I get back home to Okeechobee I think I'll fish the regular size.
I fish the regular size 95% of the time, I would fish the regular at Okeechobee it's crazy down there

How rough is that road lol
Do you throw the HH shallow on the same rod setup
Same setup, I believe the links are in the description
Do you think they fight harder than a flathead cat of equal size?
Way harder

I know right🤦♂️
I went and bought a half a dozen of these. Caught some fish but the bills broke off already. One broke within a dozen casts.
Never had one do that in all my years unless I threw it up against a dock or it landed on rocks

Havn't really tried one yet, so I'm not the best to judge.
Get the Super Duty 300 for saltwater it’s phenomenal
