Hate all you want on Brock, but he made UFC a ton of money and he holds the record for the largest grossing UFC PPV event of all time. He is/was a huge draw and is a legitimate athlete. UFC has the right to keep promoting what he did in such a short time.
People on here can hate on Brock, for his easy road to the title, etc. Things like that happen in other sports where sometimes a team gets an easy road to the championship. Get over it. They still earned that championship. Just like Brock earned his. But I almost bet at least 90% of the haters in here would not want to step in the Octagon for five minutes with Brock Lesnar.
TheAlphaFury hahaha.. Are you kiddin me 5 minutes....you gave too much credit to the haters... shorten that a bit andmake it 1 minute.. that will be more realistic.. :)

Give brocklesner a shot who at that time had one win under his belt it was a risk it was risky i appreciate individuals who work hard to achieve something he worked his ass off i very proud of him when he became ufc champion what an incredible an incredible ascension i don't know if anybody will ever accomplish what he's accomplished in the heavyweight division in that short amount of time had it not been for the unfortunate issue that he had to deal with his stomach who knows what could have happened if he continued to train and continue to hone in on his skills
brock should be in the hall of fame, if it wasnt for him i would never heard of mma and become a die hard fan, id probably still be watchin cena get oiled up and win 15 wwe titles in a month and all that nonesense. (granted the atitude era was alright). brought a lot of us fans from the wwe to the ufc
More like he had too many holes in his game. It was a matter of time before they got exposed. Still I am impressed by what he did. Wonder if they are posting this because he might come back for another fight.
Sigma Spade Fedor was and still is afraid to fight in the UFC. He was not gonna have any part of Lesnar while he was champ. Sure he would probably beat him but that still doesn't mean he was avoiding him. As soon as Fedor started fighting real fighters he got his ass kicked. He fought a lot of tough fighters in Pride but a lot of his fights were against nobodies and just fake fights. You people that claim to be the authority of mma don't even know what you are talking about.
Frank is right, Fedor was scared of being F5'd by Lesnar cz Fedor watched WWE tapes of Lesnar to study his fight game. I've looked at all the factual evidence and seen fight simulations gentlemen.
He's not coming back. They're just promoting the fights of brock lesnar for fight pass. He was a big draw, and fight pass isn't doing well, so they're promoting brock lesnar with fight pass in order to draw more people in and get more buys.
Fight Pass should consider how the WWE Network works w/r/t PPV events. Then it becomes something interesting to pay for. I won't sub to Fight Pass unless I am able to get the major PPV events along with it. Not even Brock Lesnar can get me to buy Fight Pass.. well, maybe if he came to my home and forced me to do it.
Fight pass won't make any money until they add the PPV like wwe network I don't care about archive fights and little fight nights that not that appealing for me to spend the $10 a month I rather spend it on wwe network and i don't even watch wrestling
For me Brock Always was like a mascot , that UFC signed o get more PPVs and attention ... But turned out that he was dedicated and wanted to be a real fighter and worked out for him cujz him beeing Brock Lesna he got a better oportunity than other fighters and he took it and ran with it .... And when he started to be a legit fighter the "injury"fucked him ... but I still do believe he gave up to fast , he still couldve done great things , maybe not win the belt again but still some great fights...
No disrespect to Brock. I think he's a very powerful man but the title shot was given to him because of his celebrity status. Everyone knew who Brock was and that's what sold the fights. Nobody get the same chance as he did.
jasonjrf right but no two person have the exact same skill level even at professional level, unless you clone that person in which size doesnt even matter at that point because they are the same size (if they were clones)
From what I understand, Brock hated being hit (striking). His striking was bad, despite having power (which he had no idea how to utilize anyway). Plus his Wrestling style didn't adapt very well to MMA. He never really sparred and his training partners weren't allowed to hit him in or around the head/face. Also he stated many times that he does not watch MMA at all. He trained whenever HE wanted and in his own garage. In other words, he had potential and coasted through on that potential. He was just too arrogant! His diverticulitis indeed caused huge issues, but that alone can't be to blame. As a Brock fan ever since 2002, he just didn't take the sport too seriously and believed that he was above it. If only he crossed over into MMA instead of Pro-Wrestling back in the day and took the sport seriously, we perhaps would've been witness to another great world-class fighter, but hey who knows?!
A big guy like Brock with the wrestling background should have spent allot of time on the feet with a good Boxing coach because his stand up game was lacking BIG TIME and with big "caned hams" for fists if he could learn how to through a proper punch and get comfortable on his feet........he would have been very dangerous
r u chumps kidding me the guy came from wwe and came into the ufc and won their world championship in record time. nobody in history of man has not done that. imagine if he trained that much time as other guys
I hate how everyone makes excuses for Brock and say shit like, "Had he never gotten diverticulitis, he would have been great". Didn't he beat Shane Carwin after he had surgery? Everyone was saying how he was a new man and how he looked better than before, after having surgery. Then he starts losing and people wanna blame the diverticulitis all of a sudden. Brock sucked. Cain, JDS, Overeem, Daniel Cormier, Travis Browne, Fabrício Werdum, and even big country would have beaten Brock Lesnar any day.
I don't remember anyone saying he looked better than before when he fought Carwin. Hell. He almost lost that fight in the 1st. Brock was such an athletic freak that he was able to beat veterans of the sport although he had virtually no experience. Had he been healthy he could've trained and would've gotten better fast, as fighting being like anything else, what you learn at first makes you jump in skills quickly and then the more you know the more you work on the details and the harder it becomes to improve. Brock was at the very beginning of the learning curve and still was physically enough of a monster to beat veterans. You see the result of that in Jon Jones, who became a champ with rather low experience due to his freakish body, but the difference being that he's healthy and has the time to improve. Now diverticulitis lessened his athleticism while pulling him away from training and thus costing him precious time that could've made him a way better fighter. No1 is to know if that would've been enough to dominate for long. But to deny that it had an influence on his career as a fighter is just foolish.
you say that cause u hate him, but its not an excuse, but he was sick and he wasn't the same after the diverticulitis, he beat carwin just cause the heart of champion
Bottom line is, Brock was OLD when he entered MMA. If MMA paid good and Brock entered MMA fresh out of college with all his wrestling skills, who knows what would have happened.
FightFan180 The difference is he had minimal training before he entered Pro MMA compared to Bas Rutten, who I assume would have been skilled in many aspects of MMA before he entered. Being a wrestler in college and then joining the WWE for years doesn't exactly train you to become a top level MMA fighter.
He makes more off one movie then the highest paid mma star makes in a career......so, prob wont see the ppls champ coming to an octagon near you anytime soon
I think Brock was good but even if he wouldn't have had all his health issues I think he still would have been destroyed by Cain, JDS, Travis Bowne or Josh Barnett.
He only got those shots because at the time the UFC wasnt as popular and their heavyweight division was slacking as far as superstars goes. I dont agree with his shot at the title. Just goes to show that its not what you know, but who you know in this world. Not taking anything away from Brock, just stating that: 1. He was never a true mixed martial artist 2. There were plenty of good heavyweight fighters that deserved the title fight over Brock. 3. Because of Brock cutting in line for the belt, the UFC benefited in more than one way, which is most likely 90% the reason why Brock got the shot at the belt, not because he deserved it(WHICH HE DIDNT) but because the UFC would benefit more from the fight than him. 4. In the gaming world, Lesnar would be a GLASS CANNON. Capable of delivering an overwhelming amount of damage, but breaks down after a few good placed shots. I got respect for what he accomplished, but I have no respect for a man getting a shot at something they never deserved in the first place. But in the end, Cain proved to the world what a true mixed martial artist looks like, and shut Lesnar down quick. So I guess you can partly attribute Cain's success to Lesnar. Due to the simple fact that once you beat a man like Brock in the cage, who doesnt think your a bad ass? lol Food for thought. And to Ian Gaffney who said JDS has "Incredibly overrated boxing", your an IDIOT. Period. Obviously you havent watched all his fights since hes been in the UFC. He has the most devastating right hand in the UFC, PERIOD. Ask anyone. And hes got a black belt in bjj, he doesnt need to display it for you when guys cant even handle his stand up(cough except cain....lol). Velasquez is the ONLY dude I have seen JDS fight that has given him trouble standing up and on the ground. Dont talk about things you really know nothing about. Just stick to the fake WWE.
TheeDevilWearsPrada lol yes he does bro he started to look like a freak in his movie roles, theres no question about it. I mean the guy gained atleast 40lbs of muscle in a relatively short amount of time.
