His plan could have worked if they had gotten rid of Eberflus and hired an offensive minded head coach to align with Caleb's timeline. Then it could have been a development year where Caleb plays with a bad Oline and it's like ankle weights that are then taken off once the Oline is rebuilt. Instead they keep Flus and essentially created arbitrary pressure where it's a playoff or bust year.

    • @MarkMay-cr6bv

@@paige916 Justin Fields will never be the long-term starter for any NFL team. He's a great athlete who made his bones at Ohio State, where 80 percent of the competition is vastly inferior on a week-to-week basis. In the NFL, Fields is just another guy who's athletic and has an OK arm, but can't go through his progressions or often go beyond his first read, who waits to long to throw the ball, and who forces it into coverage when he finally does. In Pittsburgh, Fields won a couple of early-season, low-scoring, defensive-dominated games against inferior competition, where everybody was playing at a preseason level (because they all skip the real preseason). It was game-managing at its best. I don't think Caleb Williams should have been the guy, but Fields was and is never going to be that guy either, regardless of what kind of coaching he gets or whome he "watches" from the bench.

The online players are always injured because they are being asked to block for 5-6 seconds a pass. I frankly wouldn’t be surprised if they occasionally faked the severity of an injury just to get out of the lineup for a week so they get a break from the world calling for their heads. It’s a compound problem. At least 5 of the 9 sacks yesterday were die to the qb holding the ball for too long, regardless of whether anyone was open or not. I agree with what your saying but Caleb doesn't have 5 seconds most of the time and they can't run either.
      The Oline execution is horrendous
and the play calling is the same.
I've never seen play calling this bad with such regularity.
This was against the worse defense in the league!
Caleb is to blame for some of this
but, Caleb was very good for 4 games and the playcalling is so predictable that teams rush the QB at will, without the fear of getting burned.
I believe, coaching is the biggest problem, especially Eberflus.
He knows nothing about offense and he is not a kick ass coach that will keep players in line.
      He has lost the team.!!
There's 1 simple way that your point could be proven.!
      Take out Caleb.
and put in Bagent and see what happens. 🐻

The Bears’ ownership suffers from a low football IQ. Once you realize that, every question is easily and correctly answered whether you are an analyst or fan.
The NFL should give the McCaskeys the opportunity to own the first European franchise. There they will be the big fish in a very small pond.😅

Whos fault will it be after Flus is Gone? Calebs? How come out of all the rebuilding organizations we can never get it right no matter who it is? From QB to Head coach. All i am going to say is that in Chicago there is one very loud voice that seems to dictate what this team is going to do even to the team’s own detriment. At this point idc if we fire the coach because the team is a dumpster fire. I wish we could fire the media at the same time.

Imagine you're watching the Washington game after the Bears take the lead with 27 seconds left and someone tells you the over under on Bears wins is 6.5 or even 5.5. You'd bet your house and think he's the biggest idiot ever. With 6 division games, Seattle and SF they may not win another game. I'm predicting 5-12. @Halfflip:
*Caleb Williams calling audibles helps him become a professional QB much faster, it's something he's learning at the Pro Level because no college QB gets to call audibles in college, they all look to the sideline for the OC to make the calls, he has to learn how to get the offense into the play, it doesn't happen overnight because he's matching wits with NFL defensive coordinators, trying to do that with a porous O-Line and reading the defense isn't as easy as people think it is.*

Calib Williams is the first player to go through rookie candidates. He asked for a piece of the team. You choose to move away from an athletic QB for a less athletic, athletic QB. You have a locker room that have had to work and prove themselves. Do you think they are not affected by someone who comes in and says pay me now, and I will prove to you later. We do t need a punter because I just score touchdowns. So far, Williams proved to be a great saleman to a desperate gullible organization.

*Repeat post before game 1, "For the 2024 season what I would like to see from the Chicago Bears is "Progress" not "Overachievement." Progress shows player development and ascendancy and coaching aptitude and prowess while Overachieving inevitably will create fan and management delusions that their team has arrived and is championship caliber and ready to WIN the ultimate prize when they're not. Nothing is worst thinking you're something you're not, and ready, when you're not. I want to see the Bears play to their talent level and coaching capabilities, this way we know know for sure what the team has in player talent and coaching acumen in comparison to other elite teams, then after the season, we know what positions and coaches are the weakness of the team, This Still Stands After Game 9.*

A glorified rookie Qb was never going to come in and solved that. The idiot GM tried to save his HC by stacking the offensive side of the roster outside of the OL, and you're seeing the results: THE SAME. His YES MAN tail can go also...He failed to even interview any other HC candidates which doesn't show any assertiveness or integrity on his part.
