It was written by Cirkut (produced for The weekend), Grammy nominated Andrew Watt (produced for Justin Bieber), American songwriter John Bellion and one other. It was produced by Cirkut and Andrew Watt. It was recorded in Watt's L.A. studio and filmed at Universal Studios in Hollywood. It was sang in all English. His mini album will be all English also. No Kpop involved here.

I love the MV so much, so cute and yes so unserious, lol! He really is trying to push boundaries for kpop. Cause you're right, the explicit version from a western artist would not have had the same impact. And really he seems like the most likely member to push the hell out of boundaries. The tattoos, the piercings, etc... Over the past several monthsn I've seen 2 reactions that break the internet- Felix's iconic line in the Stray Kids song God's Menu (he doesn't cuss, just- has a voice deeper than the ocean is), and JK saying "fuck", The reactions to both are roughly the same. I'm torn on 7. The "They had a fight and he is begging her for forgiveness" angle isn't too bad. But the "She said NO, stop STALKING the poor girl" just isn't as funny. Reminds me of too many cringe "romantic comedies" of the 80s and 90s (I'm GenX) where the girl said no and then the guy spent the whole movie stalking her and embarrassing her until she gave in and whohoo, "happy" ending.

I guess I’ll be the lone one here. I enjoy and respect JK and his talent; he’s really funny and that shows in the MV; and he’s an excellent performer - but where is the artistry? I had thought that was what Chapter 2 was about, But I guess not in JK’s case - so I’m disappointed. And it’s such an American song and I would rather listen to Giveon singing those lyrics. Aah
I don’t know anything more (I hope there’s more) about JK from this song other than he wants to be a pop singer. As he said “the one and only singer who can bridge the divide between the US and Korea”, which I admit rubs me the wrong way given that he supposedly loves and supports the other members. Congrats but ultimately forgettable for me.

There’s some great comments about what is happening in the MV and I’m fully in the camp that it is showing that while the world might feel like it is falling down or trying to drown her, he is there ready to support her even when she lashes out at him. He will wait until she is ready, hence the ending of it is her that reaches out her hand and only then does he touch her. Consent baby! He said that the MV is about what people go through in a relationship and, yeah, so much of it can be angry words caused by outside pressures in life, but the real ones in your life are the ones there to support and wait for you. Oh, and another thing- props to JK for performing this live. I know we all expect him to sing live, but the construction of this makes this a reeeeeally hard as a song to sing live, even if we were just standing still. There is no space within the phrasing to catch your breath and gather yourself to keep going -a bit similar to that Kid Laroi/Bieber number. They’ve deliberately layered and run the phrasing together, which world great for the pace and excitement on a studio recording, but is a nightmare to try to navigate in a live performance!
