I tried this board and I thought it was as fast as a bath tub

A board is only ever as fast as the skills of the paddler paddling it allow.
There have been no race boards from brand manufacturers on the market for a long time that don't work at all and resemble a bathtub!

@@SUP-TRIP-Potsdam I disagree. I've paddled a lot of boards and some do not respond as well as others. All boards are not the same. That's why there are so many companies with different designs. The Sprint and the Gen R required a ton of effort and they were not fast for me, at all. They exhausted me. My Riviera 14x 24.5 required far less effort and I was faster on it than the Starboards. I bought a Flying Fish and it is way more stable and fast for me. The Starboards, for me, just didn't want to move. It was like trying to get your girlfriend on a roller coaster she was afraid of. They are very durable. I'll will praise that, but my lesson was learned: Try before you buy or at least, buy used if you're not going to try it.

@@gregoryaugust4543 In any case, the boards work differently for everyone, which is why we do the tests, judge as objectively as possible and always recommend the self-test. That's why I run a test station with many different brands.
Perhaps I have expressed myself in a misleading way. In contrast to the early days of SUP racing, there are no completely faulty designs; every board has its users and fans. That's why comparing a Starboard Sprint to a bathtub is not justified. There are many paddlers who get on very well with this board. I don't deny that it's not your personal preference.

@@SUP-TRIP-Potsdam Yes, that's my point. My description was accurate because it was not a board for me and it was very frustrating to spend over 3500 for a board which was measurably, much slower than my Riveria, actually, two boards. I've never heard anyone critique a board like I have and my feelings were justified. I'm not calling you a jerk or anything, but I maintain my position: the Sprint in 20.5 wide is almost pointless in every way. The Gen R requires a lot more effort for little payout and some people who try it, might find it to be the same. Case and point: Rarely do you see any big race with a Gen R and never for super thin Sprint. I went through a long time training on my Riviera, a great starter board, in 24.5 but ultimately it held me back because I didn't search out for a board which responded better for a person my size. People should try before you buy. That's all. Some boards don't respond well. I didn't like some SIC boards but the new ones are great...and so on
