  • This tutorial shows how to make a pair of Art Deco Amethyst Earrings. This is an intermediate level with some delicate soldering. For materials, I used 18 and 20 gauge sterling round wire, 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) fine silver bezel in 28 gauge. The stones are 7 mm Trillion cut Amethysts. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and a liquid flux. If you see me make a piece of Jewelry you'd like to purchase, contact me through my website.

These are beautifull ❤ From the drawing I thought they were going to be massif silver but you made it from wire. Wow wow!!
If this is not your solder day (like you mentioned) I wonder what is you solderday. Because the solderingskills you show are great! I would have melted that bezel 10 times 😢
May I ask you a (2) question. I haven't seen you using any flux ??
I thought it's nécessairy for solder to flow better. Apparently you don't need it. And do you use the same solder all the way ? Is it soft, medium or hard solder?
Thank you for showing this vidéo and for your answer. 🍀

Hello Miekemanders! I use flux each time I solder. I sometimes skip showing that step when I have a lot of little repeat soldering operations to keep the video a little shorter. Lately I've been using the little dropper bottle to apply flux. I you watch carefully you'll see me do that before a lot of the times I solder here. I used just hard solder on these earrings. Thanks for the nice comment!
