As child my mother and I watched Bishop Fulton Sheen. We were not Catholics. I am now a convert . In retirement, I have a Ministry -Grief Support Group. The mustard seed was planted in me from Bishop Sheen.
I'm thankful to remember this Saint. My grandparents came to Rochester NY,from Ireland. Brought up strictly Irish Catholic. My uncle was a priest, along with many other things. Our family loved this man of cloth. I still look to him for guidance 🙏☘️🇮🇪
I'm here in Ireland.. Hope you are well...I found Bishop Sheen a couple of years ago and I love this man... hopefully he will be made a saint soon . Thank God for all of his videos.
Kevo A It's amazing you can reference Bible quotes and then go on to judge all priests by the sins of some men. We must pray for those who are victims, and the abusers must be held accountable for their actions but the majority of priests are good, holy men! This is not just a problem with the Catholic Church! Jesus died for all sinners, not just the little sins but the murders, the rapists, the paedophiles, the abortionists, etc. Should we be outraged at the sins, yes, absolutely...but in the end like it or not, if they are repentant they are just as entitled to the mercy of God as any one of us. If we want mercy shown to us, we must extend mercy to others.
When I was small, my mother and I used watch Bishop Sheen on tv. He always had a chalkboard to write on. Then he would walk away while talking. When he came back to the chalkboard, it had been erased. I was mystified as a child. Who erased the board? “His guardian angel” my mother would say! I loved the thought. 💕
While I'm not a Roman Catholic- I, as a Born Again Christian, think Fr. Sheen was one of the truly great 20th century Christians. A real, genuine , holy, Christian man. I'd rank him along with some of the other greats- C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, A.W. Tozer, Martyn Lloyd Jones, and a few others. I think I was first made aware of Bishop Sheen around 2002 when I was homeless and living in a motel room. Flipping through the channels on TV I came across the local Christian channel and an episode from Bishop Sheen's TV show was on. I was absolutely captivated. He was so full of joy and conviction and brimming with the Holy Spirit. I have since downloaded hundreds of hours of his sermons and speeches and listen to them routinely on my iPhone. I even downloaded his Catholic catechism series. What amazes me about him is the sharpness of his mind. Even late into his life. He could speak at length about our Blessed Lord without much reliance on notes. Really quite stunning. There's not a doubt in my mind Bishop Sheen is in heaven. As our Lord has said to him- 'Well done thou good and faithful servant'.
acrovader I know the Catholic Church isn’t looking it’s best right now, but I highly recommend that you look into visiting a Catholic Church to deepen your relationship with Christ. When you understand the Eucharist and Holy Communion as Catholics do, and come to speak with Him and be in His presence, you too will experience the relationship Bishop Sheen felt with Christ. Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is what made Bishop Sheen the man he was. It was His Presence in the Eucharist that can make a man that Holy, and nothing else. At the least, look for a Catholic Church with Adoration and spend a Holy Hour in Jesus’s Presence as Bishop Sheen did. You will not regret it.

I fell asleep during adoration this past Sunday and I couldn't stop thinking "couldst thou not watch one hour" all the way home. It's nice to know the great Fulton Sheen had the same experience. I don't intend to do it again, though.
Saint Therese (little flower), was said to say that if she fell asleep during adoration and felt bad about it, she knew that parents love their children just as much when they are sleeping as when they are awake - I also think that this is a good thing to remember, although we would rather stay awake. The words that I have said about Therese are just by my memory and I am sure that she said it differently than what I have said. .
I have fallen asleep at Adoration not because it was boring...but because it was so nice, and cozy and comfy with our Lord. I felt like I was being cared for.

The Church needs to declare Fulton Sheen a saint. Hes a Holy man…. It is past time.
SO if all My past is front all as Will be on the final judge i'm happy fine cause My first looking at all My life ever was do the Will from Jesús Christ and I learnt to LOVE in My family little i learnt more with Daddy Shah Rukh Khan who's show me the expressions that i never Guess and the sing and dance for our Souls in Freedom and Hard work. Obviously i ever was with much singers and actress and actors cause i really LOVE them and was Godself who's get us united i never Guess before
Fulton Sheen true man of GOD who teach us how to be faithful Catholics, unlike Robert "woke culturist" Barron.
It is interesting that we need to be reminded about prayer…shouldn’t one hour a day dedicated only to God be a standard? It is just so not easy, there are always million responsibilities and things to do. So, I guess, yes, we need to be reminded, as this is a real effort on a daily basis….
One hour in Adoration of Our Lord in the presence of the Holy Eucharist
I'm not being trying to be awkward here but Bishop Barron should refer to Bishop Sheen as Bishop Sheen and not Sheen and one day soon hopefully it will be Saint Bishop Sheen.
Prayer: just do it

Your excellency, why don't you speak up against the wicked bishops that are trying stop the canonisation of Fulton Sheen?
haha priests you'll become a social worker :))))))))
Not one priest, bishop, cardinal or pope will go to bed hungry or without shelter this night.
Sheen, a SAINT & he’s what a Prince of the Church should be. Trust me, Sheen in heaven, is ASHAMED of Barron & his kind!
So kind of you, friend.
Yes he is
I knew nothing of Fr Sheen until recently, but initial impressions are he was a right-wing nut job. May have this totally wrong of course, so opinions are invited.
I'd encourage you to listen to some of his talks about Jesus Christ and the Gospels. There are a lot of talks of his from the 50s that had a lot of political implications with the time period, but I tell you his captivating words and wit God used in a profound way in my life to bring me to a greater love of God and neighbor.
He was a man of intellect and prayer. He was a holy man.
