Thanks so much for this video! I just won a Vitamix, my very first, from Ted Carr's first Vitamix giveaway! How lucky am I, right? So grateful to Ted!! Eager to try this, thank you.
Jon came to my house last year he was telling me about this! He said they're was some tek to create your own out of a vitamix and wine pump. Thanks for making the video!!!!
So cool, Jon is awesome! I’ve meant to make this for a while but wanted to come up with a even better solution but this is the best I could do so far. Thanks for the invite, would be awesome I love Hawaii! If you ever see me posting from there and I haven’t contacted you please do reach out too, not sure how long it will be till I head there n could forget 🙏🏼🙏🏼
The biochef carafe and vacuum fits, and it makes the OJ way more sweet. I add water to make it nice liquid. I'm a bit miffed that vitamix hasn't come out with a vacuum carafe of their own.
Such a pleasure! Indeed I have out of necessity, I got the new Acent series with the clear plastic lid and found a vacuum pump that works super good, as well as a extra seal…. but, the company that makes the pump went out of business and thus I’m waiting to find another I can share people can actually buy before making a new video 🤗 It’s called “biochef” you may still find one around 🤗🤗
@chevelleflorida I wanted to get the void lid but it stopped being made before I could get it for the Vitamix. I have a friend with the dynapro and they like it🙌🏼
Great idea and video. Thanks. I will give it a try with my Vitamix 5000 that has a mixing jar like yours. I think if the original cap does not create a good seal, you can probably wrap some teflon tape (the plumbing white tape) around it and it should prevent vacuum leakage. But I'll have to try it first. Thanks.
Brilliant! I'm def gonna try this! I've been ogling vacuum blenders, but love having the tamper on the Vitamix, and don't want TWO blenders. Thanks Commander!
Beautiful demo on this cost effective life saving hack! Just one question that has been puzzling me for a long time. The rubber stopper has an intentional hole to facilitate the suction, after which the blender is operated. Is this to say that the tiny hole in the rubber stopper still persists during the blending process? If yes, does it impact the overall results? I just couldn’t figure out the math in my head.
Pleasure for sure! I will be filming a update soon for the meeeee vitamixes but also works for these as well! I’m not entirely sure I understand but the valve is one way so once it’s reached the max vacuum suction it just sits there, or if there is a small leak in the seal then slowly becomes less vacuumed. Hope that helps
@@TheRawAdvantage Thanks for your response. I actually misunderstood the mechanics earlier and hence asked a ludicrous question! I don’t have a vitamix blender; I use a good old traditional Preeti Mixer which does a great job at blending all sorts of things. After obsessing over the concept of vacuum blending, I was infuriated with not having prepared my food this way all these years. It’s never too late to optimise the food processing game, in terms of upgrading nutritional quality and creating a better experience. I have ordered the wine sealer with stopper attachments. My lid has a pin sized hole, so we may have to drill a bigger hole through the lid to fit the stopper. The vacuum blenders suggested by John are unfortunately not available in India. Kuvings does sell their juicers here (which is what I own) but not their vacuum blenders. From visual inspection of my Preeti lid, I don’t expect a perfect vacuum, since the gasket is the only locking interface. Either way, I am happy to find an innovative method for the time being.

Unfortunately my second flexzion broke down so I can’t really compare, also, I now use a vacuum pump rather than this hack, which I can confirm is better. I can however say, this hack works decently but isn’t as good as using a vacuum instead of the hand pump and neither is quite as good as a dedicated vacuum blender.

I just recently checked with Vitamix to see if they had any plans in the works for a vacuum blender or vacuum carafe that would fit their blenders. The answer was no. I was pretty disappointed. They’ve come out with so many different models and accessories but aren’t keeping up-to-date with vacuum blending. I don’t understand why. That is a bummer to hear, I had contacted them too a bit over a year ago and they didn’t give a definitive no. It’s interesting on the comparison review with John too as I talked with him before purchasing and he had recommended the biochef as a good product, just not quite as good as buying a entire other blender thet was much more expensive. I for sure wouldn’t say it’s a waste of money, I’ve had two other basic vacuum blenders and the biochef is much better imho, the hack is ok but truthfully I haven’t gotten the same results as with the biochef. I feel like there’s gotta be a way to adapt that tamper to work like that wind vacuum so you are tamping and removing air at the same time if that’s how it works?
Ahhh perhaps but that would require some real ingenuity ahah. Easier to simply put the most watery ingredients at the bottom, mash with the tamper before blending, then if needed shake the blender or add a bit of water🤗
Nope, the purpose is to vacuum before blending so there is less oxygen blended into the food itself. The only thing vacuuming after could help with is if you want to seal store it, but even then it’s best to vacuum first too.

It definitely does not come with two.
Ohh apologies for the wrong info, I just checked in with him and he said he called vitamix and purchased a second top then glued it on. Hope that helps!
@@TheRawAdvantage thank you for clarifying. I also tried using tape to stick the plug to the lid to seal any gaps (as a test) to see if that would work better. Still no bueno. So I'm reluctant to try super glue and buying a second lid. I'm glad your mate got it to work, but I think I will look for a different solution since the hack isn't working for me.

Wow I’m so doing this!! Tysm 🌱💚🙏🏼
Let me know when you do and what you think!
@@TheRawAdvantage so i got the plug and the vaccume wine thing but it's so hard to drill a hole in the plug!! how did you do it ahh!!!
@@juicingjustina so fun! I used a regular drill bit and drill, making sure the drill bit is a bit smaller than the circumference of the wine kit vacuum plug to make sure it’s air tight. I wouldn’t use a knife or anything like that.
@@TheRawAdvantage i actually got it now!! it is super air tight i made sure to make it small and will start experimenting with a smoothie soon!! thank you so so much!!!
So awesome! Really excited to hear how big of a difference you notice too! You really have to push down on the lid and then pump it up! I really notice on all recipes but especially smoothies
Awesome hack
You should patent and make a gadget
I hope you've lost your affiliation because, such a good hack is definitely a treason. Anyway thanks a lot
I didn't ahhaha I really hope they develop a vacuum container as its a real game changer!
My gay brother is in love with u.
Flattered by the love shared, for clarity straight as a arrow, but flattered none the less 🙏🏼
Are you married?
I’m not but I am in a serious committed relationship with my pumpiumpiumkin :)
