I feel like general friendlyness of furry community has decreased alot in past few years there starting to be alot of in fighting and general people spreading hate of late and it makes me kinda sad and it's changed alot from where I first started I first started because everyone was accepted regardless of race gender sexuality but now people are starting to judge each other based on that in the furry community just my observation of late why I've kinda distanced my self from the community lately and there's alot of artest or big named furs becoming toxic and ego centric because of how much attention they get and it's going to there heads and therefore effecting there fans to act the same way

Antifurries don't go to hell unless they're a full-on furry hater. One of my friends is an antifurry, but he knows if he doesn't bother the furries, the furries won't bother him. I'm a furry myself, but he doesn't hate me for it because I don't bother him about it. There's a difference between a furry hater and an antifurry.

As a Christian furry, I love all the SFW art and seeing all the awesome OCS and suits I came into the fandom because everyone was so welcoming Furries are generally awesome people with amazing creativity and skills I also have a few friends who are LGBT members and they are amazing people who I love to spend time with I even found out there are Christian Furry panels at different cons and I wish I was able to go to cons more than ever before I love you guys so much 😸

I mean, it's not just about the fursuit itself or their fursona, it's also about the fun and the smiles from other people they get. It's also a way to convey their feelings and thoughts, thoughts and feelings that are just too hard to get out with just their real faces. It's also a way to make cool hybrids. I found out about furries like this: I got grounded from my iPhone 4 a few years ago, and so I snuck onto my dad’s iPad. I found the (2014?) dance competition, and saw Monsteroo’s dance. I was like “Whoa, that’s cool!!”
Seeing as everyone's sharing their thoughts on the matter of furries, I'll give mine. I am not a furry, and that will be apparent when I state the following; I have a very embittered stance on the fandom, no doubt influenced by my own experiences. I have been groomed by someone I thought was a friend, who was a furry, and solicited me for their fetish work when I was very young and didnt understand their intent. And I've only continued to find the worst the fandom probably has to offer. But I will say this - i dont hate the fandom, nor do i hate the genuinely passionate. It's easy for the whole to be misrepresented by a few bizarre or terrible people. What does upset me, and what will be a bitter pill to swallow for certain, is the lack of awareness or real care made into rooting out/punishing bad people within the fandom. People have and continued to defend zoophiles, and conventions often solicit these individuals behind closed doors. And when this reaches the light, people will try and drown it out or say its false. I'm not saying this is the majority, nor even the minority. I'm just saying my experience is bitter, and I'm glad that I am the minority here. All I'm saying is that it would be wise to distance yourselves from these parts of the fandom, as that reflects bad on everyone, and is the reason for the fandoms bad image. Otherwise, I wish you all the best. If you feel I'm wrong, feel free to correct me or clarify. all I ask is you try to understand where I'm coming from. And no ridicule - it helps no one.
I unfortunately am aware that this is an issue within the fandom, but I do feel like it may be improving slowly but surely. Most furries I know (including myself) actively oust zoos and other perverse individuals. Many furries may try to hide it in order to keep the reputation of the fandom from falling further than it already is, but hiding a problem is not fixing it. Unfortunately, as the fandom is not an organization and as such has no concrete methods of rooting out these people, many of them get away with it behind closed doors. All I and other members of the fandom can do is try our best to bring attention to it when we see it and be a counterexample.
I became a furry through my digital art side. I had come up with a character to represent myself that I had initially not considered a furry at all, but then I began considering it more and I eventually just came to the conclusion of “hey, what’s wrong with being a furry at the end of the day?” “What was the reason I didn’t want to become one?” And now here I am, and honestly, it’s been *lovely.*
This thought is coming from me who's not a furry, but I think the notion that furries are rich comes from the fact that fur suits are extremely expensive and the most visible furries are those in fur suits, so people tend to think that all furries have that kind of money lying around. I think the reason “why are furries rich” is such a frequent search is because of how much fursuits cost in the first place. The misconception is that most of us can’t afford them.

one of the things i think we forget to talk about is the Donations to Charity. i think it was Midwest Furfest in 2019 that ended up donating over a million dollars to charities. and if you look at all the Donations the furry community is doing then i would bet my ass that the furry community is the biggest Doneters to Charity. most of my own Donations go mostly to Furry Games that i really like since I'm a gamer and I'm tired of shitty AAA games that are Shit and still get away with it.
I am still very new to the furry Fandom but the people I've met are all very kind and supportive. They helped me confirm that I did in fact wish to become a furry. I still am shy and don't say it to people in public due to a lot of people I know making fun of furries but at least I can start to become what I want and am even working on an oc. It is not a very good one seeing as I can't draw it but I have been working hard on it. My point is I found people who really care and have helped me see that what I was scared about was actually something that I enjoy and makes me happier.

I actually got into the fandom through that one protogen maker (you know the guy!) and decided then and there to try to make a living as a fursuit maker and artist! The craftsmanship in fursuits is something that truly amazes me
I also became a furry because of the Warriors series! It is my absolute favorite, and the main of many reasons i became a furry other than being bullied for being diffrent, so i joined the fandom, and a LOT more reasons!

The best representation of furries in media that I have seen is an episode of Lucifer. I'm not saying it was the best but I still think that it was fairly accurate. I think it would be cool to see you react to the episode.

In my opinion, It's really sad that furries get hate for their interests and doing what they love.
I mean, it's not just about the fursuit itself or their fursona, it's also about the fun and the smiles from other people they get. It's also a way to convey their feelings and thoughts, thoughts and feelings that are just too hard to get out with just their real faces. It's also a way to make cool hybrids. It's just those weird, dirtyminded bad people who make the furry fandom bad or even any fandom has that one bad side. I don't care if other's say that it's weird or obscure. It's cool!
The moral of the story is, the people on the best fur suits are usually great artists to commission because how else would they afford it

as a therian, most therians don't think they are actually a animal they just want to go back one of there lives where they were an animal or they believe a part to there animal soul is trapped in there human body so they do quads to help themselves feel more computable in there body.
The other one you couldn't remember is an otherkin, its very similar to being a therian but they believe they are an animal that doesn't exist on earth for example, elves, angles, unicorns, an unnatural coloured animal, gryphons and more.

Honestly, all fandoms have their ‘dark sides’, but it doesn’t mean their based off it. And it sucks that we’re one of the only fandoms that are singled out for something like that :/
The internet is weird, they hated weebs because they liked hentai in 2016-2017 and then in 2019 since then they liked hentai, someday everyone’s gonna be a furry and then another community with nice people will be singled out.

Seeing as everyone's sharing their thoughts on the matter of furries, I'll give mine.
I am not a furry, and that will be apparent when I state the following; I have a very embittered stance on the fandom, no doubt influenced by my own experiences. I have been groomed by someone I thought was a friend, who was a furry, and solicited me for their fetish work when I was very young and didnt understand their intent. And I've only continued to find the worst the fandom probably has to offer. But I will say this - i dont hate the fandom, nor do i hate the genuinely passionate. It's easy for the whole to be misrepresented by a few bizarre or terrible people.
What does upset me, and what will be a bitter pill to swallow for certain, is the lack of awareness or real care made into rooting out/punishing bad people within the fandom. People have and continued to defend zoophiles, and conventions often solicit these individuals behind closed doors. And when this reaches the light, people will try and drown it out or say its false.
I'm not saying this is the majority, nor even the minority. I'm just saying my experience is bitter, and I'm glad that I am the minority here. All I'm saying is that it would be wise to distance yourselves from these parts of the fandom, as that reflects bad on everyone, and is the reason for the fandoms bad image. Otherwise, I wish you all the best. If you feel I'm wrong, feel free to correct me or clarify. all I ask is you try to understand where I'm coming from. And no ridicule - it helps no one.
I unfortunately am aware that this is an issue within the fandom, but I do feel like it may be improving slowly but surely. Most furries I know (including myself) actively oust zoos and other perverse individuals. Many furries may try to hide it in order to keep the reputation of the fandom from falling further than it already is, but hiding a problem is not fixing it. Unfortunately, as the fandom is not an organization and as such has no concrete methods of rooting out these people, many of them get away with it behind closed doors. All I and other members of the fandom can do is try our best to bring attention to it when we see it and be a counterexample.
I respect you for not letting your trauma affect your image of a general community, although I am very sorry that happened to you

I became a furry through my digital art side. I had come up with a character to represent myself that I had initially not considered a furry at all, but then I began considering it more and I eventually just came to the conclusion of “hey, what’s wrong with being a furry at the end of the day?” “What was the reason I didn’t want to become one?”
And now here I am, and honestly, it’s been *lovely.*
This thought is coming from me who's not a furry, but I think the notion that furries are rich comes from the fact that fur suits are extremely expensive and the most visible furries are those in fur suits, so people tend to think that all furries have that kind of money lying around.
Anyway, thanks for the vid! It helped clear up some of my questions too 😊

Because therians don’t think that they’re animals, but they *act* like animals per say, it’s pretty fun.
Otherkin is an umbrella term that includes all kin, none of them think they're physically what they identify as.

one of the things i think we forget to talk about is the Donations to Charity. i think it was Midwest Furfest in 2019 that ended up donating over a million dollars to charities. and if you look at all the Donations the furry community is doing then i would bet my ass that the furry community is the biggest Doneters to Charity. most of my own Donations go mostly to Furry Games that i really like since I'm a gamer and I'm tired of shitty AAA games that are Shit and still get away with it.
I am still very new to the furry Fandom but the people I've met are all very kind and supportive. They helped me confirm that I did in fact wish to become a furry. I still am shy and don't say it to people in public due to a lot of people I know making fun of furries but at least I can start to become what I want and am even working on an oc. It is not a very good one seeing as I can't draw it but I have been working hard on it. My point is I found people who really care and have helped me see that what I was scared about was actually something that I enjoy and makes me happier.
