    This is the best Bitwarden tutorial I have seen. Thank you very much!

    I was using last pass before. But they started charging. So switched to bitwarden and glad I did. I like it way better.

    I've been using Bitwarden for a year and a half, and I still learned one or two things from your video. I'd long been puzzled about the browser add-on's "Tab" section for example; what did it mean? Eventually I stopped wondering and just ignored it. 😄 Now in retrospect it seems obvious -- it's about what's in the current _browser_ tab.
    The extension is available for the Brave browser as well. (Can't recall whether you mentioned that.) So I've now added it to Firefox, Brave, Chromium (for Linux), and my Android tablet. I appreciate that the extension looks the same in every browser, although the _app_ requires a different workflow. For me, the process of _copying_ username and password from the app into a website (which is also two steps) isn't as smooth/easy/intuitive as with the browser extension, where a single click auto-fills login data, as you demonstrated. It's probably also less secure with the app, since it involves copying --- although I have a habit of copying some other random bit of text after I've logged in. That way there's nothing useful hanging around in my clipboard (or whatever Android might call its memory cache) for a would-be hacker to steal.
    The browser extension had a learning curve too, I'll admit. It took a few weeks to get really comfortable with the interface, but maybe that's just me. I can't compare that to any other password manager because Bitwarden is my first. After many hours of studying articles and videos, it seemed the best for me, and I have no regrets.

    Probably best tutorial what I saw. Thank you. But seriously I don't understand lot of perks to use it. Ok. to generate passwords maybe. Other things, auto-fill your browser doing as well. Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Maybe to keep your passwords safe? But then what about mobile phones? On mobiles I don't understand how it works at all. But yes, this video very detailed. Thanks

    I'm confused. I created a new account and imported my vault from Lastpass. My vault in BW is now fully populated but my log-in/password information for my sites is not migrating into BW. No idea what I am doing wrong.

      @@CJTinCA bitwarden will not autopopulate the password without clicking on the item (as shown in the video). Make sure the URL of the site is added to the entry under the "URI" section

    No mention of using right-click to autofill a login? I find it much more convenient than moving my mouse to the upper corner of the screen.

    Can Bitwarden connect to various medical or bank accounts from inside Bitwarden, using password encryption for each different account?

    • @bluekeybo
      @bluekeybo  Рік тому

      Bitwarden is a password manager. It's up to the user to add login accounts into Bitwarden, which can be bank accounts or other. The user should also add the link to each site within each Bitwarden entry to make it easy to find each account or auto-fill them.

    Any suggestions for setting up Bitwarden for folks that use multiple email accounts?

    • @bluekeybo

      You can create another entry for the same site, just name it something different so it's easy to distinguish

    Can I remove my phone numbers and recovery email from my gmail accounts if I use Bitwarden with gmail? (I've learned having your 2 steps verification via SMS and recovery email is not 100% secure) Thanks!

    • @bluekeybo
      @bluekeybo  3 роки тому +1

      I think that having a recovery email and phone number is ok, as long as the recovery email also has a strong password. I wouldn't worry about the Google account though because if someone is trying to get in, Google does more than just send you a code to your phone or recovery email to reset the password. In fact having the recovery email and phone listed will make it so you will receive a notification if someone does try to log in.

    How can I completely turn off Chrome's password manager?

    • @bluekeybo
      @bluekeybo  3 роки тому

      Two steps: turn off "“Offer to save passwords” in settings, then delete all your saved passwords in Chrome after you've saved them in Bitwarden

    thank you for the tutorial. It's very clear and detailed. I tried it after watching your video. It's very great. One issue: I use MacOS and copyclip with bitwarden firefox extension, copyclip tend to remember the password i've just coppied to clipboard.

    • @bluekeybo
      @bluekeybo  3 роки тому +1

      Does it not clear when you set the setting shown in 18:26? If so, you can just try to click-and-fill the passwords instead of copy-pasting them.

    • @namkhanhdo8179
      @namkhanhdo8179 3 роки тому

      @@bluekeybo Thank you for your reply. I also set it up in the option, but copyclip still save the password in the drop down menu. So I think it's better to try click-and-fill instead. In general, it's a great password manager everyone should try it.

    • @bluekeybo
      @bluekeybo  3 роки тому +1

      @@namkhanhdo8179 i see. It has to do with how copyclip manages the clipboard, keeping a copy before Bitwarden is clearing it.
