I think mainly in story arcs, the extremes of both enneagrams, 7s will ignore those around them and their own image in the pursuit of their goal, while 3s will tend to burn those around them in the pursuit of their goal and try to preserve their own image.
Great video, people often forget that Sp 7 uses materialism as a form of escapism with monetary gain/material and/or mental hedonism. Where as So 3 , which you said, uses materialism as a tool to elevate their social standing. Despite both being (archetypically) 3V types, there is also a clear confidence difference in the 2 types as well , in terms of how each type carries themselves- Sp 7 being the more confident ones. Also there is a much more pronounced aggression/confrontational nature with Sp 7, could be mistaken for e8, which doesnt occur in So 3 (due to not wanting to break their image - could lead to passive aggressiveness).
Actually those differences are the reason why SP7 is archetypically 3F and not 3V. SP7 overconfidence it's what leads them to having the self entitled attitude and narcissism and trying to compensate their material lacks
Tbh i think the confusion between 2 and 3 is way more widespread than 3 vs 7. So many ppl think a 2 is like a doormat or your mommy instead of basically an inverse 8

Interesting video, I was learning towards sexual 3 for Puss but I’m now considering 7 core for him thanks to this video. (Also helped me realize that that Hamilton from the musical is a 7 core I was having a hard time typing him before) And yeah social 3 is strange for a character like him lol, social threes often described as cold characters that distance themselves from their emotions. 10/10 analysis btw as usual.

SP7s are vain too, they have a big ego, but that doesn't mean they are an image type because of that, everyone has an ego. In SP7, excess physical stimuli and material objects work like a drug for your brain to feel good and satisfied, it is a totally mental type.

It’s specifically self preservation 7 that gets mistyped as three. SP 7s often create an idealized version of themselves which they project on to other people which is similar to what 3s do. The difference is that a 3s self image is grounded and generally based on what society deems good, meanwhile a sp 7s image is often fantastical in nature and doesn’t care for what’s socially acceptable.
focus on triad, instinctual variants, and core first and foremost. see if you're heart triad or head triad (my fran bow type 4 vs type 7 video covers this). see if you're insecurity and prioritisation leans on SP or SX instinct too. I understand the confusion though, but I'd consider E2 as well if I were you. There is a big difference in E7 seduction and E3/E2 seduction.
