Everyone watching the Sidestep Adventures videos and enjoy and love them as much as I do; need to understand that the descendants did not abandon these Cemeteries willingly. Because of the harsh life; in the South after the Civil War families had to relocate to look for work. White and Black families alike had NO CHOICE if they economically wanted to survive but to leave their hometown. THANK GOD ALMIGHTY FOR ROBERT WRIGHT AND ALL THE SIDESTEP ADVENTURES FAMILY; FOR OBEYING THE HOLY SPIRIT AND CAPTURING THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF GEORGIA AND ALL THE SOUTH FOR ETERNITY. MAY GOD MIGHTILY BLESS YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY🙏❤❤❤👍
Amen! I couldn't agree more. This cemetery is revealing to us the faith in God and their love of His Word these folks had. God probably told them to go so they went. I wonder where this family relocated.🤔
No matter how many graves and cemeteries you have found, nor how many times I have watched, it never ceases to amaze me; the number of people who have lived their lives, died and seemed to have dissappeared into history. By that I mean, no obvious care of the cemetery and no modern burials. And as I repeat that, the plus, decendents may now know where their family lies. Your discoveries, always enjoyable, and always thought provoking. ❣️👍👍
Omagosh!!! What a tremendous find out in the middle of nowhere...too too cool!!! Love it!! Most all of us are lost to time...and Stinson was born the year our country was...wow...
I'm so enjoying these explorations. It's such a treat cause West Tennessee got snow last night and its too cold to go out and play right now. 😁 There's a short Garden Rake that would be perfect for your needs (about 2 1/2 feet) and they make brooms that size too. Its dangerous reaching in those leaves, particularly when it warms up. I got a bite pulling weeds one day and lucky, I didn't know it for another day when it started itching and I had a had spot there, behind my elbow, I had to use the mirror to see the area well. Those like guys must have some sharp gear. Gives me the willies every time I think about it. Get yourself on Amazon and see what ya can find. I'm thinking one of those fabric bags that they put those fold up chairs in, would be perfect to stick your tools in, and carry em like a Golf Bag. I know there's a Lady down there that can add a strap if needed. The Mother in me... Can't help it.
I agree. Wouldn't it be nice if descendants now, in 2022, were to know about their ancestors' graves being there. What would I do?? I'd at least want to visit it.☺️
That was amazing find. This grave yard goes way back to the 1700’s . What a great find. You’ll definitely have to come back to this one during the day with more lighting along with your brush n all. Love to see more of it. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🐶
There is one in Orange lake FL with trees growing up in the middle of the graves and the tombstones are made of phosphorus so they glow a bit in the moonlite
I hope you go back in the daylight and explore a bit more in this cemetery. Seeing this history is so interesting and where their communities were hundreds of years ago.
The graveyard isn't the final resting place of our dear departed but an ephemeral repository of their remains. The real graveyard, however, is somewhere deep in our heart, where we can always visit them at any time of the day, talk about some Unforgettable Summers, or cry in solitude as if they were always there for us to stay. THANKS for the awesome video. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍I do appreciate it.⚘😊
I’m so grateful that the Lord laid these words on your heart to share. They have comforted me & know they will continue to do so in days to come. God bless you.🌹
I love it when y'all are out in the middle of nowhere! I wished y'all would have found that cemetery much earlier in the day, just looked like another wonderful one to read as many stones as possible and those people are alive in our minds! That's a FANTASTIC thing all you guys do, plus cleaning stones now and cleaning overgrown cemeteries when you're equipped properly! Thanks a MILLION for all the lost cemeteries found, and the folks in them documented so they are NEVER forgotten!!!
I went on Ancestry and found what I think is the cemetery in this video. Is this the Stinson Cemetery? I also found a photo of an article in the Macon Weekly Telegraph of November 21, 1833, volume VIII, issue 8, page 3 about the Abner Woodall Estate. Mayber these are linked to the person whose gravestone you found. Take care all...
It helps people realize that these areas weren't always empty. Alii 3 of you do great work. Finding and the history of the residents in the cemeteries. Not forgotten reawokened
As a family historian I cannot express how much I appreciate what you guys do. Thank you for exploring these graves that have been hidden/lost to time and nature
This cemetery is slightly post Revolutionary War. Too bad the cemetery isn't taken care of. It is history. Same for the cemetery in Virginia, they were born in the 1600s. Used to be a beautiful cemetery but people have gone out and stole the antique wroght iron fence that went around it. Now it's filled with weeds.
Wow Stinson was born the year of the centennial!! Man that's an old cemetery there. What an awesome find. I was thinking that one marker on ur way out that had AW on it was prob a Woodall bc you did see a marker for an Abner Woodall. Very cool. Thnx Robbie & Dan. Yall b safe
@@cindys.9688 Thank you. It could've even been his marker too but was moved. Anything is possible from what I've learned "traveling" to all these cemeteries with Robbie. Not sure if he realizes all the things he brings to light. I'm honored he invites us all along. Have a great evening 😊
Is it just in Georgia or all over the U S. All of these forgotten graves. You guys definitely have a forgotten graves radar in your heads. Great job .God bless you.💓
Scientists say that mankind has been living in what we now call the USA for at least 2,400 years or so. Native Americans will tell you it's much longer than that. There has probably been a grave at sometime just about everywhere you step on soil in this country. Even more so if you live on a long populated island like the Brittish Isles or the Hawiian Islands. That said, in terms of the US, the Northern colonies were mostly well planned and laid out before the people even left Britain or Europe while the Southern ones were laid out coastally only. Those who ventured inland were pioneers who struck out on their own. So once you get out past the original layouts of between 1670s to 1800 or so, (I'm including Spanish and French holdings in that last date), you get more and more family plots that seem to spring up out of nowhere like this one. Georgia was originally a 'debtor's colony' so most who came here were poor. That's why there are so many old graves with no markings. Black cemeteries were like that too but the truth is that almost as many whites in the earlier days didn't know much about writing even if they could read some so many went unmarked in any way that we can now tell. That's why people like Robert and his friends are so important now. They are bringing the old families back, plot by plot in some cases. We are lucky here in Georgia to have such dedicated folks doing this work!
@@nancyholcombe8030 thank you for you wealth of knowledge on this matter. I would be so honored to find a forgotten graves. All of ours seems to be well protected here in Michigan. But I'm going to keep looking 💓

Loving the scriptures on the gravestones! The patriarchs trusted the Lord when He told them to 'go', so they went. I wonder where they ended up. Somewhere with a better economy - out of state? to the big city?🤔 This is a fascinating find! I would love to know their story.🤓📝📖

Sometime y’all should visit Washington Arkansas (Old Washington). A lot of history there. I grew up there. Pretty cool growing up in a state park. The Pioneer Cemetery is actually still growing because they’re still finding graves. You’ll see little flag markers through out the surrounding woods. The earliest graves date back in the 1700’s. I remember the grave of a 16 year old girl from the 1700’s. There’s a creek that runs behind it and some of the graves are being washed out. I call it “Bone creek” because there are literally bones in it sticking out of the embankment. Cannon balls have been found in that area as well. There was a Civi War battle fought up the road and the dead and wounded brought back to Washington. There’s a Confederate ‘pot grave’ or mass graves at the cemetery up the main highway in Washington. A lot of really cool stories developed from this area. War, murder, hangings, tornados, etc.
I have said it before God bless you guys but as you get older who will take on the mantel and do the work you guys do finding these cemeteries God bless you guys and old Robert too 🛐✝️♾️❤️ LOL

I don't know why everyone expects the government to do everything for them. I think it is in Switzerland you have a grave for only five years and then you are discarded and another person is buried in your place. I think relatives can keep paying to keep your grave intact but if noone pays the grave is reused. To me people are lucky to be forgotten in the woods as a lesser evil than being in the middle of a busy city or neglected, vandalized in town cemetery.
And if you return to them, PLEASE BRING A BRUSH and something to REMOVE THE OVERGROWN LEAVES (like the other Robert brought with him) Could you please carry a FLASH LIGHT in your vehicles when going on a road adventure and then finding graves? Am sure (like you said) there are more out there!
Hi! Yeah, Robert has a flashlight and a brush. Other Robert has brought clippers to cut vines. It'd be cool if Robert had an "emergency kit" in each of his vehicles. Maybe some friends could pitch in and gift him with some kits. That would be extraordinarily cool!☮️🤠
Hey Dan how do you go about finding the history on old cemeteries and home places, county records in Talbot county maybe? We have a 2500 acre lease near Carsonville east of Talbotton that has some old home places and cemeteries on it.
In Northern Kentucky two cemeteries in my family lines had been on the family’s farms. One has been surrounded by industry, now, but there is an iron fence around it. Don’t think it’s maintained. The other one was on a hill on a farm no longer in the family. The property was sold to a housing development within the last 10 years. The developers moved the graves to a nearby church graveyard. In that area there is a group of people interested in locating and recording gravesites in the countryside. I’m grateful to know of their interest as I don’t live in the area.
I find it kinda nice these cemeteries have over grown with trees all around them like it’s all gone back to the earth and the people buried there are settled
I’ve seen where you can carry a piece of tracing paper and charcoal in your vehicle and rub over the engraving to be able to read. Just something I thought about and I’m sure you already know.
