It is. Your just misshearing her bad singing lol. Where is my shot glass, there it is! I'm taking shots! Shot one shot two shot three shot four. Shots fired and I'm lit, etc
I watched the HBO trailer and it explained nothing being a whole minute longer than this. This is why studios need to be more proactive when sending out their shows to be cut up for trailers. The folks HBO hired clearly didn't even watch it.
Sometimes they prefer it that way because it drums up excitement. I personally prefer a good balance of both mystery and just a sliiiiight hint here and there.
@@josefv1154 yeah things like Parasite are best left mysterious but the HBO trailer made me think the main character was obnoxious, so on the selling it front it put me a bit off. Now that I've actually watched the series though I can totally see why after a few episodes they would edit her that way, it gets better but wow yeah HBO trailer wasn't wrong.
This is an interesting series. About a woman who didn't realise she was assaulted, because the way the man did it was from taking tips from internet forums where men discuss how to rape and abuse women. About time the media talked more about that going on online. Even youtube allow videos from groups in the USA who claim they don't want women, but instead of doing what they say by leaving women alone, they spend all day on the video comments trying to make women feel bad about themselves and promoting abuse towards women.
I agree with men who wants to go their own way and leave women alone, Our group is called (MGTOW) "Men going their own way" ... we have vowed never to get married cus we know what will end the marriage, I paid a woman to bore me a child, and i have custody of my child and allow the mother to visit whenever she wants... Its so simple, no complicity, no strings attached.. Western women have become a disaster
@@TsarOfRuss You must try harder to find a good woman, because when you do and have the joy of family and children, your life will be sweeter than wine. I understand your position but I do believe that there are many women out there who are less modern, insecure, overly-sexual and industrialised, especially in rural places.
Well, at first she didn’t remember she was raped because the guy who raped her spiked her drink at the bar. We see at the end of episode one that she has a flashback to the assault. This assault forms the foundational storyline of the series upon which everything else builds. She was assaulted a second time, too, because of the guy “stealthing” - secret condom removal. Michael Coel created an enthralling show about consent, trauma, friendship, healing, and “radical empathy” as she calls it. She squeezes nuance out of these stories, daring viewers to feel uncomfortable with her and untangle the events of Arabella’s life in real-time with Arabella as she discovers things, too. It was an honor to witness this journey, which was inspired by Michaela Coel’s own experience of sexual assault. It will make you cry, scream, happy, sad, angry, and everything in between. I can’t recommend this show enough!
@@kauterbaiz1361 I read somewhere that she was going to make another season. And I'd heard her talking about the rape once but I didn't know it was during Chewing gum. I thought it was before that show altogether. 😟
This series was truly eye-opening. Highlighting how messy modern dating can be. I had the pleasure of delving deep into the show as part of my series Lessons of Life & Love.
Looks like it's set in norf London. I miss norf London....the Mrs made us move to saaaaaf London years ago. This looks pretty good and ive never heard of these actresses.
You've probably already seen it now but (from the first 2 episodes) it's about a woman who is sexually assaulted on a night out where her drink is spiked, and her friendships/relationships and how it affects different parts of her own life and those around her.
I've watched two or three different trailers for this show, and I still have no clue what it's about!! I'd like a little bit more clarity on whatever the plot line is, cuz I am lost, and as a writer I normally very very good at picking up on plot lines... Anyone else confused by this trailer?
she wrote the character based off her pain. as the series goes on,its not like its a flattering character either. she can show her pain and emotions better than any other actor. its not weird for singers to sing songs they wrote so...
Yep. Its stereotypical agenda. From the loud pink weave to the sexual promiscuity of the lead and other blk female character. I sat and watched it with my netflix and chill girl but was cringing. BBC has sunk low, but then to see fellow blk British ppl bigging it up. Nah!
First six episodes are edgy, funny, beautifully acted and written, second six, same old pantomime of complaint, victimhood, racism and rank hypocrisy. Such a pity because Michaela Cole has real acting and writing chops.
Similar events happened to a couple of girls I knew at uni, and they were both white british. So this show is a realistic recounting of what it can be/feel like after a sexual assault, no matter what race you are. It's a good watch
Actually no. If you watch the programme it does not appear that way. But also, does it matter who is preparing someone to be raped? It's rape. Serious stuff.
the show is so complex and powerful and all you can take away is the amount of pigmentation in peoples skin? society has failed you. none of the characters in this show are "good" people btw.
"Where is my shot glass? Can't you see I'm drinking shots"
I really hoped this was a real song 😥
Bee N - I knoooow right!!😭

I had no idea what this was about until I read the description, and then I chuckled.
why the hell does she look like the girl version of Kedar Williams

The info box of the HBO trailer describes the plot well without spoiling anything :)
More mass programming for young adults. Cool.
