    I grew up as a kid proclaiming to be an atheist because of church hurt. Hearing 2pac rap about God in the mid 90’s was one of the first times I really considered theism and that God maybe personal. Later hearing dmx’s prayers to Jesus opened me back up to the idea of Christianity. God used very flawed people to plant seeds. Then when I was in high school a girl I was dating invited me to church. It was honestly because of being warmed up to the idea of Jesus from music I went. I kept going. A few years later I finally surrendered to Jesus and haven’t looked back ever since. I say that to say, God and hip hop don’t have to be incongruent.

    Avoid those that have the knowledge of God but lack the power of God. We are to be separate from the world not blending in, sugar coating the message of repentance.

    Not hating at all crae, I just don’t understand how we have rappers like the few you mentioned, Travis Scott, Dababy, etc. who will talk about God and say they have faith but then promote the sins Jesus died for. I cannot judge their relationship with God, I just don’t understand how so called Christians can glorify sin and God in the same songs.

      Cuz that’s what they have to do to keep the platform, not saying they’re in the right, but if u have investors(the label) u need to keep making money, and the mainstream appeal is in hyperagressive black men who flaunt money they don’t have. They lives are prob hell and need Jesus too tbh.

      God is not glorified where sin is glorified. God command us to Repent of sin and be you holy for I am Holy. That's when God is glorified! Satan is glorified in sin not God.🤦🏾‍♂️

    Just Because People Say God Doesn't mean It's The God...There's the World and There's the Faith, Can't Mix the 2

    I Feel You on the Authenticity Message Though...Truth

    • @Roze_Mari
      @Roze_Mari 2 роки тому +1

      And the point of the song Blasphemy was.. like when he says "we probly in hell already, our dumb asses not knowing, everybody kissin ass to go to heaven ain't goin".. the point was the exact bs that goes on today in the church that is NOT of God being endorsed and promoted BY MOST the people in the church IS not going to heaven at all because they think they're doing better than people in the world & we kind of are in a hell where THAT is present and has been for a long time.. the song blasphemy wasn't even how most Christians would think.. its basically saying the churches are committing the most blasphemy there is if you listen to it .. that's why he said, "the preacher want me buried, why? Cuz I know he a liar.. have you ever seen a crackhead? That's eternal fire.. why you got these kids minds thinking that they evil? While the preacher being freaky, you say honor God's people".. he's tryna get em to think.. What the CHURCHES will call blasphemy may not always be BLASPHEMY, MAYBE what most the churches promote & condone is blasphemy but they believe they worship God.. BUT ITS THE DEVIL THEY LOVE & don't even realize it..

      Nah man thosr were the first secular artists you heard say some stuff about God. Unless they denounce sin and the world and then announce the Lord, and stick to it, they not christian nothing. I understand it all don't go away immediately but if you want to disattach from the world and sinful ways you can immediately stop putting it in your music and glorifying it. You might not be able to fully stop at first in a personal sense, but you CAN control what you put out on a platform. These dudes continued to preach their own way and lile he said *sprinkled* God into it. Its all or nothing. So me personally i cant recognize them as real, same goes for the new artists in secular avenues who sprinkle God in. Hes my whole world not just a garnish. Imho

Da Truth touched on Biggie on his song Misconceptions….That was on his It’s Complicated album. Throughout time I’ve heard the religious undertones in hip hop songs. Glad you brought up that story. Nipsey Hussle lived out Genesis 1:28 - Be Fruitful and Multiply otherwise stated as Hussle and Motivate! On the title track of Victory he says, "I'm PROLIFIC!". And he was, FRUITFUL. #RightHandToGOD

    3:04 - “The streets are not anti-God or anti-church. I think they’re more anti-inauthenticity.”
    I agree that people in general frown upon inauthenticity, but I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with the first part of this quote because that’s not what the clear testimony of Scripture teaches about the fallen human nature and condition.
    Anecdotes and personal experiences must bow to what the Scriptures teach (as I’m sure you know and hold to, Lecrae).
