Gaemi Typhoon threat building in the Pacific

- Tropical Storm Gaemi was named early today in the Philippine Sea, and is heading northwestwards. Gaemi is expected to become a typhoon early next week and could impact Taiwan and the southern Ryukyu islands as a powerful storm. The storm's wide windfield will then swing towards the east coast of China, giving Shanghai strong tropical storm force winds. Rainfall expectations have decreased a little in Taiwan due to a forecast track shift, whilst in the Philippines and China rainfall totals could reach 500mm.
Tropical Storm 04W also formed earlier today and is still awaiting a name from the Japanese Meteorological Agency. The storm could strengthen quickly and be a borderline typhoon by the time it reaches Hainan on Monday or Tuesday.
Elsewhere, an area of interest in the Eastern Pacific may still have a chance of developing, with model support increasing slightly since yesterday for late next week.

why does Gaemei already sound like a historic C5 Typhoon 😭
I didn't expect a robloxian pianist to be here..
@@JohannesKalelPerezfr 💀
is no one gonna talk about how a VERIFIED dude commented here?
also fr it sounds a bit historic
The name means ant and it does not sound historic
@@beenitiger-siu This isn't the first time... he actually commented a couple times.
Im now excited for the names:
Natl - Debby and Ernesto
Epac - Bud and Carlotta
Wpac - Maria and Son-tinh
PAR - Dindo, Enteng and Ferdie
Ferdie wasn’t retired?
@@SethKenan yup cuz it's 2016 self did not even caused 1 billion pesos in damage
With Gaemi now being named, Eastern China might have to monitor the progress of this system. 04W is trying to get there, and might be named later tonight or tomorrow. After that, both the WPAC and EPAC seem to be trying to catch up to the ATL in terms of activity (while, the ATL, of course, is on its break of tropical systems, thanks to SAL).
Do you think any of these typhoons could match Beryl’s intensity?
Do you think said Typhoon(s) could compare to the intensity of Beryl?
@@crazymanyt5126 Right now, the closest storm to possibly reach or near Beryl's strength is Gaemi. But we'll see...
@@crazymanyt5126Beryl’s intensity is fairly typical in WPAC. Gaemi could surpass that intensity if conditions improve.
is that hone? southwest of hawaii at 9:48
Prob idk
Gaemi could be a Western Pacific Beryl
True
Although it won't be a long lived storm like Beryl
@@parvadhami980Yah.... and she won't be able to rack up that much ACE as well since Beryl's already racked up an ACE of 35 units....
The real story is that there is so little activity in the Western and Eastern Pacific usually there have been several typhoons and a super typhoon or two by now. I don't think I've ever seen the Pacific so quiet in late July. The Atlantic is not looking like the record season they were forecasting. In a normal season the Atlantic starts churning out alot of storms in August in past record seasons the Atlantic started churning out storms in July. Its not just that there are no storms currently in the Atlantic its that there is nothing that looks like it might develop even in normal seasons you usually have a area of interest or two by now. I wonder if the record heatwave over the Southwest US has anything to do with it could this massive high pressure be pumping dry air into both basins?
Looks like Prapiroon gets saved from getting erased from the lists again since 2000 lol
Prapiroon basically is a typhoon veteran now
Prapiroon is basically immortal
BOB 02 had a deep pressure. Puri recorded about 993 hPa.
Two weather systems in wpac
I think Tropical Depression Butchoy will turn into a Tropical Storm tomorrow and Tropical Storm Gaemi (Carina) will turn into a typhoon before exiting in the PAR
If 04W becomes Prapiroon, it would be the first time of it not being a typhoon but Gaemi could be Khanun 2.0
@@JarredProductions9228 Yeah and my opinion 04W I think will be named tomorrow
Storms in Wpac:
Ewiniar"Aghon"
Maliksi
03W
04W"Butchoy" will be named tomorrow
Gaemi"Carina"
13:21 "the next name are in the Australian region is Rob-

Robncha
oh wow twin storms again.
13:23 something got cut off here, when he said robyn it went like "rob-southwest indian ocean"
