I can't stand that term people are sleeping on an Artists like what does that even mean when there is no promotion behind the music that they drop? like there is literally no promotion behind his music He talks about dropping music for months then does a littler promo before it drops and then after it drops you barely hear or see any thing from him Hes independent he has to put in the work to help push his own music his fan pages are suppose to help promote it nobody is doing anything hes just gonna keep dropping good music but the general public will never hear it because of no promo like where are the videos videos to the song help promote it literally hes sleeping on his own music. back years ago artists would have some kind of connection with radio stations where they can just send their music directly to radio stations and the DJ would put your record in to rotation. In this day in age everything is by promotion By the Artist themselves the record company or Streams by the fanbase You gotta put in the work. especially if your independent and not well known outside of UA-cam nobody really Knows who are Armon and Trey are when they first started out singing they would do Concerts and this was just off youtube Now you barely see either of them doing anything not even UA-cam.
There are are pluses and minuses to being independent the plus is your the boss no one can tell you when to drop music how much to put out and what kind of music to put and you own the rights to all your music and all the money you make is yours you don't have to payback record companies the negative is if you don't promote your music you don't get the exposure your career is what you make it. and you have to pay everybody that does work for your obviously.
If your a signed artist you don't have that luxury and they pretty much own the rights to all your music they get a percentage of sales from your music and you have a certain amount of music to put out to satisfy the contract you sign and if your unhappy with how things are going you can't just say I wanna do something else you have to fulfill your contract and obligations before you can be released whether its a 2 or a 4 year deal The cards are in Armons hands
@@frommypointofvu U R correct re Independent artists & their challenges Ar’mon has experienced being signed to a label when he & Trey were younger & problems w/ that. Thus he started his own label now Motion Boys Music Grp so proud of him for that👏🏽👏🏽
As far as content Ar’mon has always stood on he’s an ARTIST who happened to do Vine YT IG Snap etc…
Most artists whether R&B Country they sing their pains joys & struggles in their music
I applaud him for sharing his gifts w/ us & it’s only gonna get better from here
Record labels intent is to make most profit as possible they basically use artists contracts are never fair it’s a shady business & has been for decades Ar’mon knows he was signed to Neyo’s label w/ his brother Trey when they were younger so kudos to all Independent Artists who want protect their music & creative control
So they DONT have the financial $ it takes to get radio airplay constant video productions ads etc…. Which the label provides but it makes the Artist a slave to the label ( like Prince had tattoo on his face)
So using the term sleeping on is a fact cause there are many talented artists like Ar’mon who don’t get the mass push it’s not that he’s not working it takes a team & serious finances
Artists like Usher Meagan the Stallion Coco Jones etc .. are Independent the 1st 2 are at status they have financial storehouses to promote their music
