With so many differing views about Rahu and Ketu, it is helpful to hear you speak about them. Looking forward to your videos on them moving signs. Thank you 🙏🏽
It's actually liberating to look at life & the universe that it is expanding & contracting expansion & reduction, it's pressuring to think of the NN as a goal, but the ancient way liberates us from being trapped by either. Thanks as always.
“I’m gonna take a 30 day break from Facebook. Gonna get my shit together...” lmao. Your videos are always a nice balance of humor and wisdom. Ty as always.
The modern take on the south/north nodes has been very troubling to me. The perspectives that you have shared here resonate much more. The Rahu/NN "hunger" is very real, but I have not felt certain that feeding it is necessarily the answer, perhaps rather to find a balance between the two and to understand the polarity and how the nodes each affect us. As always I very much enjoy your installments! Particularly when you incorporate the I Ching. Also I would love to hear about the pre natal moon. All the best and thank you!
Thank you, I loved these 2 videos! In vedic they say Rahu is like Saturn and Ketu is like Mars. As a video suggestion, I'd be interested in hearing you discuss different phases of the moon and examples in birth charts of how they manifested.
OMG I’m so grateful that a lot of the time when I watched you or read Liz Greene’s books, the authors gave examples of the exact placements in my birth chart 🥰🥰 Today you mentioned Saturn conjuncts the South Node 😁😁 Once Liz Greene mentioned the Sun in Cancer in the 12th house. I had goosebumps.
I find this topic on the nodes very fascinating and rather paradoxical. In my chart my SN is widely conjunct my Jupiter ruled by the Sun, and NN ruled by Saturn. So there seems to be maybe a tendency to escape through day dreaming/ dreams of grandeur and philosophical study yet I seem to crave stability and security or form... yet in the 12th house. It’s very bizarre and a lot to unpack. Not to mention Jupiter is also the ruler of my MC/ 10th. Thank you always for so much valuable information to chew on and process.
I also use mean nodes, however I discovered very early on with my own chart through different program defaults that the difference between true and mean node changes the sign (and with whole sign houses) of my nodes. I’ve always wondered if if I’ve stuck with mean because I like the signs/placements better
My south node is in the 6th house with Mars, moon, and saturn. I thought I would be successful through maintaining a healthy routine but sometimes I don't feel alive when I focus and keep on my routine even if my energy says no. How would you suggest I can handle this energy?
I also entertain the theory that if we consider the science, knowing that the moon helps the earth to maintain a steady, balanced course around the sun through its gravitational pull, and the moon's nodes being the pivotal points in the earth/moon relationship, then we could consider that the nodes in a natal chart may point to where the individual's emotional nature may be balanced, by reading and interpreting the archetypal motifs of the signs involved, the houses, and any planets, or points aspecting them... What do you think?
I get that in Indian astrology both of the Nodes represents our desires, hungers, North Node for our Earthly desires and the South Node for our spiritual hunger
Thank you! That was informative and timely. Perhaps you'd consider doing a video of nodes through houses and how that affects our life purpose. Many thanks!
Fantastic, so insightful. What I'm not sure about though is how Ketu is different from Neptune. They sound very similar to me. I'd be grateful for any insight on that. Also does having Ketu conjunct the Ascendant Ruler make Ketu a focal point in the chart? I've heard that if Jupiter trines Ketu it can help with the more negative parts of it.
I see the evolutionary take on the nodes in a different way than is mentioned here. I think the evolutionary astrology encouragement is not about ‘accomplishing’ your north node but to pay particular attention to navigating it wisely/compassionately. And I don’t see how that has to necessarily detract from spiritual practice. Perhaps good nodal navigation and spiritual can coexist quite nicely:)
That's not at all how modern evolutionary astrologers present the north node unfortunately...it is literally presented as your evolutionary homework whereas the south node is your hangup...as Steven Forrest says..south node bottle and north node the meeting...the point is that in ancient astrology, in the place where the science of karma originated, the nodes had entirely different meanings...and the north node pointed toward a certain kind of obsessive ambition and egotistical hunger...people need to sit with that.
I appreciate that response. I imagine Steven Forrest choose that metaphor (the bottle and the meeting) to illustrate something beyond mere nodal prescription. Applied to the nodes, it seems to suggest (to me who does addiction counseling as part of my counseling practice) that the north node as a ‘meeting’ is not about just ingesting something new(more functional) to deal with the pain...but coming to real responsibility/accountability and awareness of the excesses of the entire nodal axis. AA/NA/Alanon meetings are not just a new bandaid to redirect the person healing, they are a system of gaining full consciousness about the entire spectrum and appropriate navigation of that specific energy excess(mind/body/spirit). I’m not disagreeing with your take on the nodes (I think you’re a complete genius and so appreciate your work!), I am merely trying to flesh out the take on the evolutionary approach to the nodes (beyond black and white prescription to conscious navigation of the entire spectrum of that archetypal energy axis). I think the bottle/meeting metaphor is quite layered. To me it seems to suggest lots more nuance there than just ego aggrandizing north node embodiment. The bottle represents something being used for a deeper unhealed set of issues. The bottle is just symptomatic of the soul trying to understand itself in a variety of ways (dysfunctional & functional). The meeting is about coming to terms with oneself on a deep and conscious level in order to live in line with ones true integrity.
As I've known about Indian astrology both Rahu and Ketu are malefic. My friend has his Saturn conjunct Ketu in Scorpio and he got raped when he was a teenager by some random guy on the street. He also has his Venus in the same house of his Rahu (an orb of 12º). He does attract glamorous ladies & guys (he's bisexual) and sex.
Now I know why I’m a helpless empath, always hide in my daydreams hoping I don’t have to face reality, while keep looking for emotional fulfillment 🤣🤣 I have the North Node in the 3rd house conjuncts the Moon and Chiron 🤣🤣 and they all have to make a square with my Sun in Cancer in the 12th. The 3rd house and the 12th house tell the same story. That doesn’t sound like a funny one 🤣🤣 OMG I finally know what my Chiron’s wound is. I have extreme difficulties in accepting my emotions AND my fears AND the reality of Life. OMG the South Node is associated with things like neglecting your body or suicide.... and my South Node and Saturn has to square with the Sun in the in Cancer in the 12th house. Same story again. Self- undoing and don’t like this Earthly realm at all. I’m always very harsh on myself and choose to prioritize others. If I have to decide I will be the last person to be happy. It seems like my conscience can’t bare the fact that my happiness is an exchange of other happiness. Things have been a lot better since I discovered what I really want to do, kind of like I’ve found my life purpose and I have a reason to live now 🙂 I actually wanted to do it ever since I remembered but when the moment came 7 years ago I decided I didn’t like it 🤣🤣 What a Sun in the 12th house story it is 🤣🤣 You undo your life purpose, of course!!

Timestamp 25:50!!! That statement sent chills through my soul! Namaste!

Loved that you included, and use, Rahu and Ketu! 🐉
thank you so much!!!so interesting this one

How the south node conjunct the sun can affect people born under a full moon ?
My south node is in the 6th house with Mars, moon, and saturn. I thought I would be successful through maintaining a healthy routine but sometimes I don't feel alive when I focus and keep on my routine even if my energy says no. How would you suggest I can handle this energy?

Ketu and Saturn both carried many of Neptune's significations in traditional astrology! Neptune has some unique significations too!
Nice1
My south node is also in the 10th house in pisces.
