But the future no longer looks like the past, Graham says. “It’s interesting, you start looking at the data [and] 7 out of the last 10 Atlantic hurricane seasons were above normal,” says Graham, who previously ran the National Hurricane Center, which is one of multiple specialized forecast offices within the National Weather Service. I live in Oregon about 15 minute drive to 5 skiing parks. Last year we were so worried about the lack of snow but luckily late in the season La Niña was kind to everyone and brought us a good amount of much needed snow. I hope this repeats this year, we are ready for it ☃️
It was El Nino last winter. Hence the warmer, drier weather. Hopefully this year we get more La Nina patterns. But right now it's considered more neutral.
Yea it pays my bills,I've noticed in my that people project on others what they want to hide about themselves. That would be congruent here being as how empirical evidence is contrary to your opinion and your opinion has no empirical evidence. The only point you stand on requires the marginalizing of the character of the people with empirical evidence, kinda sophmoric really?😊
@@Ron-j3t do you even know is what empirical evidence is? My opinion is based almost entirely on empirical evidence. You shouldn’t use big words you don’t understand.
@kenmore01 then you had your head under a rock or aren't from here. the average high for the month of July was 81 degrees in SeaTac and 77 degrees in seattle, which in the last 80 years is the third warmest average temperature. August was similar, both months had many 90+ degrees days, June also had some. There's been a few years where it's gotten well over 100, over 110 even, but that's unnecessary. I heard Arizona gets hot if you're a fan of summer.
I normally only say this stuff, but if October's land mass cooling does produce a thermal mass mean of 42° F (or lower) at 6' below by the 12th; we're in for unprecedented snow. The cold, however, snowy chill until January (nils December), whereupon frigid is the most intensive arctic blast yet. If the nils all around, 47° F at 6' below by the very day is a nominal winter. For cold & snow event, martial is the degree of readiness. For the practical and common observer; excellent heat, bubble-wrap logic for the windows, stock up if it starts to snow beyond 4' high in 2 days. Up to or beyond eves (1st story, of course) is then certain.
Science says the Earth has been cooling for 345 million years. In time the Earth rotation changes so that we have ice ages for thousands of years. Im happy with anything we get right now.
Our best guess is that we really have no idea what winter will look like around the puget sound

Hopefully this means colder and wetter for the Pacific NW. Maybe some big snows!

There is no climate crisis. The climate grifters are getting quite annoying though.

I hate windstorms and snow.
Hot weather does not work for me. I was raised in the ice and snow.
So they are just guessing
Cooler? Really? Last January our low temps hit -25 in my valley (Central Washington).
Winter what to expect? It will be cold. Shalom
I don't think it will rain in Seattle.
Mild. The odds are tipped towards a weak la Nina which means snow and a little more of that typical NW weather.
I 🙏 its warm winter. Killing me
I don't know. I'm guessing they have warm winters in Mexico?
? Ok,, last winter we had record lows !? 14 degrees in Albany, OR
Hey, at least that knocked back nutria somewhat, hopefully. They really don't do well with cold temps.
