    Watching from replay
    I have realised that I have never considered a possibility that I could be a succesful person, even that succes could be something that I'd value because it sounds like something that I am worth it.
    It's not in my role to be succesful. That I am here to support others to be succesful but not me.
    That explain why I feel most of my life as such a failure because I cannot even succeed on supporting others if I hold such a belief. So maybe it is a time that I could allow myself to change this belief and I can do so by changing the perception on my life and look for the evidence of my success. And there are many. Thank you

    Takeaway: My self concept is the sum total of all of my beliefs about myself. If I don't believe myself to be in accordance with the values that I espouse, I will feel badly about who I perceive myself to be, resulting in negative confidence. This is my first time trying to learn NLP and I'm really enjoying how it's removing limitations that I could not previously articulate out of fear of rejection from, for instance, group belief systems that I had taken on for what I perceived I needed at that time.

    Replay. Take away - by reorganizing and highlighting my past experiences that align with my values, I can change my self/identity. If I want to be successful, let me itemize the instances where I had success and have them at the forefront, rather than any instances where I had failure. Don't let the past experiences of failure stick in the list/timeline of that value.

Extremely loving and generous yet disciplined and held us (kids) to some high standards, which is not a bad thing. However she did focus on the negative more then the positive. I attribute this to growing up during the depression, going through world war 2...moving from Europe to North America to make a better life....Life was a struggle was the recurring message...because at that time (50's) it was.

    Skip the jiu jitsu. A brush up on your sleight of mouth technique might help you usefully presuppose the nested frames of human experience… where identity is the sum of one’s beliefs structure. Beliefs are structured like a giant bowl of full big, red, juicy, delicious cherries. Dig in DEEP and grab one from the bottom to alter the structure and affect the slightest changes on all the rest. Let that integrate. Repeat. ID level reimprinting is possible however rarely integrates for lasting change.

      @@DamonCart Krav Maga is the juice. I used a simile, not a metaphor to effectively elicit response. Although I’m really curious what these ‘nested loops’ are that you mention, I was referring to the nested frames (I.e. Russian dolls) of human experience- from identity spanning outward through our beliefs, behavior, and external stimuli. There’s a quantum holographic level to it as well, however it may only be useful to one’s practice after integration of masters level work. Speaking of which, reimprinting, is an incredibly useful tool for changework; it’s important to remember that the tiniest shifts often elicited the most significant changes and that the inverse was probably true as well, especially as it refers to lasting change.

    what is the difference between an Evaluative Feeling vs. an Emotional feeling?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  28 днів тому

      Not much. You can have an evaluative feeling like when you're presented with a choice of what you want for dinner without getting emotional about it. You just know what you want. It's a feeling. That would be an evaluative feeling. Emotional feelings are when emotions are involved like joy, happiness, peace, passion, sadness, anger, etc. Both evaluative and emotional feelings are responses to information presented externally or they can be present as internal representations as well. We don't just randomly feel evaluative feelings or emotions. They are always responses to external or internal sensory based information.

      In all fairness, I see Damon doing what he can, realistically.
      Unfortunately, it really isn't something that I see most people doing without support from others who have experience and proper training in it.
      You can go a long way solo, for sure. There are, at the same time, bumps in the road that are navigated well with the help of others who have traveled and are traveling along the same path.
      I see that Damon is doing what he can.
      In the program there is a very clear structure, very cogent and clear video lectures, demonstrations, and an entire community supporting you in a variety of mediums including social media and zoom meetings... And there are a lot of people available to meet and support at many times and days during the week. And everyone is at different levels and we are all rooting for each other and sharing and helping. It's a beautiful thing, really.
      I had some of the best and most magical experiences of my life at NLP Comprehensive run by the Andreases.
      While this isn't a month of face to face in the beautiful Colorado mountain at Winter Park... It's pretty damned good.
      It's the kind of work that does take a long time with the support of a community.

    Do values fit into qualities?
    self-esteem (feeling)
    self-concept (identity)
    qualities (values?)
    experience (categorise)

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  Рік тому

      Yes. A value is a generalization about experiences that are important to you. A quality is a generalization you make about yourself based on your behavior, as in an aspect of who you are (identity). When you behave in alignment with a value, you experience self-esteem. In other words, you like yourself. When you possess the qualities you value, you sustain a stable and healthy self-esteem. For example, I can value happiness but if I value happiness and I don't believe I'm a happy person, there will be suffering. If I value happiness and I truly believe I'm a happy person, not only do I get to enjoy being a happy person, I also get to enjoy valuing myself for being a happy person.
      Values and qualities share the same names so it can be confusing for some people at first to understand this but once you get it, you'll understand the difference. You can value creativity and also be a creative person, as another example.

      @@DamonCart thank you! It seems like the levels are more flexible than the neurological levels framework. You compared them in another video which had the content embedded in the NL and seemed more forced. Although I liked that model, I can see the problems. This LL model tries to capture how an upper level is impacted in the way we categorize the level below. The levels are more flexible but you still make meaning of things based on more concrete ideas below. Have I got it? The feelings at the top I wasn't sure about, ie surely our identity is not influenced by how we feel? But maybe so? Is it more a confirmation if it sits well with us or not, and if not, it's a sign or flag, that we are not being congruent with our values so it needs to be addressed in a level below?

      @@grantsparkescarroll I'm not sure what you mean by flexible. NL is not a real NLP model and for me it created more problems than it solved. With the Self-Concept Model, it becomes obvious that how we feel about ourselves is not going to be determined necessarily by how we want to feel or saying affirmations. We need to go to the structure of our beliefs about ourselves to make changes that will result in feeling differently, in feeling the way we want to feel about ourselves. In order to know what that is, we turn to our values. Our identity is determined consciously by how we feel and more unconsciously based on what we believe about ourselves. I might want to be a happy and successful person, but if I feel like I am not, there's a good chance I never will be no matter how much success I have and no matter how many things I do that make most people happy because I don't feel that way.
      Yes, if something doesn't feel right, it probably means what you believe about yourself doesn't align with your values. Also it could mean that something needs to be integrated. All parts of you are trying to fulfill a positive intention (value), but sometimes our parts become disconnected. Even though they're serving the same master, you and your fulfillment, sometimes the parts aren't communicating so they're working against each other, which is what we call an internal conflict.

      @@DamonCart Great thanks! btw I did mean and agree that LL is more flexible than NL (not the other way round), sorry for the lack of clarity. I agree with you and that it has issues (NL). Ive been trying on the LL framework over the weekend and think it is great. Thanks for your replies

      All of my videos have Closed Captioning. It's the CC down at the bottom of the screen. The auto-generated subtitles are usually quite accurate.

    I have a little hiccup with my "known" trait. I only know I'm smart bc an IQ test got me in to Mensa. Hahah. Fact based. How do I map something when I only accept proof like this?
