I'm a big fan of guitar headphone plugs. In fact there is a very good chance I use them more than any other guitar products for my personal playing. And this one is no different, It has the features, sounds and ease of use that I look for in this class of product. And you cant complain about the price.

100% right on the physical volume.
Most "guitar gear" channels just contribute to the ocean of gear that exists in the universe. We all love gear, and chase it to some degree. Your channel is different, for me. You always have great gear to cover but you seem to genuinely enjoy playing it all. Your channel doesn't make me want more gear, no. Your channel, and your approach, just makes me want to play more guitar, and have more fun doing it. So, thanks for that! It's great.
You always make every product review sound great to me. What ever genre, you play, you just deliver it to my ears in the way I like to hear it, so I think that it the best product ever.. Doesn't happen with other UA-camrs, however good they are, I just love the way you play. Thanks for another great video, Ryan.
Just got mine, it took FOREVER to get here from China. But hot damn, this is a great piece of gear. It takes a minute to get a handle on the controls, but lots of variety in terms of amps and effects. The bluetooth hooks up easy, this thing is really great.
How does it sound in comparison to Katana go/mustang micro/mighty plug given that you’ve played them of course?
I used the VOXac30 for a long time till I recently bought a excellent condition Marshall amp off guitar center....my new love. But those headphone amps are a great alternative!
Your loop jams really bring out your playing. I was watching your friend Jake Leigh's video on the Philippines island adventure and he mentioned in there how surprised he was by your playing in person. I can't say I was surprised, because your loop jams are always really tasty. This thing sounds alarmingly sweet.
I agree 💯. Ryan's default licks are underwhelming, but he really can bring some great shit when necessary.
Very cool. Glad I saw this before I bought the Fender one. I like them all but price sold me.
I'm late to the party I know but maybe you haven't seen or done this so if you haven't let me know. Went to Flamma web page and saw this. FLAMMA Intelligent Guitar E1000.
Love all work. See you on the next one, or at least one I havn't seen. Which will be the next one.
I loved that Sonic setting. Then again, I love my Supersonic 22, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. And yes, you should try a Supersonic. They're such underrated amps. The clean channel can do the Deluxe Reverb thing, or the Bassman thing depending on how you have the "fat" switch set. The gain channel has 2 gain stages, so you can get all kinds of different gain flavors, from fuzzy Deluxe Reverb tones to more Marshally tones. Great full sized reverb tank too. I think it's Fender's best amplifier. Most of the time mine lives on the clean channel with a Klone or a Vox Silk Drive in front of it.
ah the old Vox chinesium nu-tube poop.
@@chickenlickin3820 you can call it whatever you want. It's a great sounding overdrive.
Man that Supersonic sounds like heaven. Sounds pretty good without the actual amp.
Nice and fun presentation, as always! But I wish you plug the device in different guitars and demonstrate the handling... That would be interesting. Just saying 😊
Thinking of getting one when they're available at thomann.
Love your channel and your relationship to surf music! Keep going!
That's the thing with camouflage jokes, you never see them coming
@@UncannyAdam I'm lookin' at cheap guitar gear, and get (yes) AMBUSHED by you, dude! 🤓
I enlisted in '85. You could see our O.D. pickled numb skulls a mile away.
...I did NOT see you comin'. 😎
This sounds a lot better and with more features than the Fender Mustang Micro. I bought and sold that pretty fast. And for less cash....interesting.
You had me sold on this even before the end of your review, which is rare for me. I've been considering getting a headphone amp. The Fender Micro was at the top of my shortlist, but with an approximate $40 price savings this is tough to beat. The settings and effects all sound pretty good with the added bonus of a drum machine, it's difficult to say no to. I still might get the Fender Micro, but I've already placed my order for the Flamma. Thanks.
I don’t love my Mustang Micro. Few dirty amps, and they’re way too woofy without much sustain. I can already tell these sound much more natural.
Is this as versatile as the mustang? I watched that vid earlier and bought it! Now this has me second guessing.
Will the bluetooth interfere with a wireless vibrator? That's either a question or a song name.
Do I need this? absolutely not... Do I want this.. Hell yes!
Nice lil piece of gear for the price seems like a nice little tool.
I wish this guy published a Canadian magazine. An actual physical paper book. Maybe even and e-zine (but I'd still print it out myself)
Best review, and I think I watched almost all of them, lol. Just purchased one. Might try it on a gig.
how did it work?
If you have anything with a mini output headphone jack, such as the demo Flamma and other 2 at the start, including tiny/desktop amps , you can use a male mini jack to guitar female jack converter, then go into a low impedance input preamp , then into a regular amplifier. You can use the devices for their amp tones and effects. I have used an ART tube MP w the Boss Pocket GT and the NUX micro table amp.
lol
Thats just dumb
@@Ottophil ? Why do you think so ? The equivalent effects as stomp boxes would be 4 times more $ for the NUX and you wouldn't have an amp. Over $ 100 more for the Boss. This is marketing horse shit. The effects could have had a headphone out, the headphone plug an effects level out guitar jack.
Not gonna lie the acoustic guitar with a wamy bar was a new one to me but I love it
cool, But can you use it while watching Star Trek with the captions on while jamming to New Wave songs on UA-cam?
agree, I Love physical buttons. next series I hope it has more features to beat NUX products
Man that supersonic sounds awesome!!!!
Great product 60 cycles, I’ll put it on my list
So, between the Flamma fx10 and the Boss Pocket GT...which do you think is the better of the two?
Thanks for the detailed review))
Imitation of amp sound is beyond competition for this price))
Therefore, can you do an experiment: use fx10 as "preamp pedal" (more precisely amp+cab simulator) with other pedals?
I have wanted to purchase the fx 10 and tried to purchase one as recently as two days before this broadcast and have not been able to find where I can purchase one. IE Amazon and Reverb were not able to sell one. Where did you get yours??
Link in the description
Hi, will this work on a TC Electronic G Major 2 guitar processor?
Thank you.
I like that this product takes the simplicity of Fender Mustang Micro and adds bit more features you find on Nux but without the annoying phone app.
If I didn't have the Fender I would have probably bought this.
Is this a new product? Can’t seem to find it at all in the UK
Now there is the version 2.0 is flamma x 20. Pls try it! I dont know if its really better, it has a app and a lot of thing but i like the simplicity of the first model... Anyway the tone is the only thing that matter. I want to know if you thing this thing is pair ti pair whith the fender micro. Ps: love ur channel!
I wonder how this compares the the Nux mighty plug, or if maybe its a rebranded model of one?
I use my Nux Mighty Plug 2 regularly. I like that it doesn't have physical buttons except for power on and the single button to toggle between programmed patches you create. For me, the Nux is better for fine tuning. I do not recommend updating the firmware. Did that last summer and it effed things up. Was able to reinstall the prior version.
@@joellebrodeur1015 yes! I thought i was the only one who liked the original tones of the mighty plug. I actually bought it fur the one sound, the hot rodded plexi. If you update it takes it away. I couldn't tell you how many arguments jve gotten into on Facebook mighty plug group. Happy to hear that im not crazy. Well if i am then now there are two of us🤣
Its nice. Harley Benton has one very similar but cheaper. But in my oppinion, the best headphone amp is by far the Boss Pocket Gt. Is so mutch better, imo.
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
the pocket gt is an awesome product. a little clunkier because its bigger and requires an extra cable. but you can do so much with it.
Is there anything that can work with wireless/Bluetooth headphones like the waza air but without all the bells and whistles and works with any headphones?
Didn't know you could play so pretty. You should be playing jazz even when there's no money in it.
Great video ! Wondering if I can replace all my metalhead gear for this thing
Inexpensive, does what it's supposed to...nice.
I thought the Fender Micro was king of the pack, looks like they just lost. That was my goto for a very long time. Have you played with splitting to to an aux in on an amp?, or even even just playing it through an aux in on an amp without headphones? I have the Amplitube 5 Max setup on my laptop with an MAudio 192/4 interface but methinks my laptop may have a few issues as I get pops sometimes when running higher levels while playing YT Music in a browser for jamming.Nothing beats the micros for ease and simplicity of hookup
How well do these play with bass?
What would be your absolute favorite headphone amp? I've only had and only tried a mustang micro and have honestly never really looked into other options.
Do you prefer the Boss Pocket GT over this, all things considered?
Engl, now we're getting there
Great review!
I see you still have the Harley Benton Mosrite … how has it been holding up since you reviewed it? Considering getting one in the near future
Nice Work. Sounds Great. Any Latency issues?
Can I use it with bass guitar?
hi everyone. I got me one of these and I noticed on the clean tones the volume is quite low. Difficult to practice with my children around or so. even worse with high impedance quality headphones. Do you also have the same issues or is it just my item that's wrong? Thanks for your comments...
I finally got the flamma fx 10 I like it but the only problem I have with it is the volume
A lot of people (myself included) have noticed that the Micro Mustang has a weird quirk where there is a small hiss of white noise you hear when letting notes ring out. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with that issue, but have you noticed anything similar with this one? It sounds amazing and if it’s free of that weird hiss I’m gonna pick one of these up ASAP! Thanks :)
Try updating the firmware. I had that same issue until I updated mine.
I have one of these and I've noticed a similar hiss on a few of the amp settings, like 2 or 3 of the 14. Most of them don't have that issue.
Thats the sound of 1’s and 0’s
Is there a lag between video and sound via bluetooth?
Yes. That tends to happen with Bluetooth
@@60CycleHumcast PS. you need to check out the LEKATO headphone amp. It’s 1/3 of the flamma price, it has bluetooth, presets and IR loader
Might be a dumb question, but can this run to a PA?
I don’t see why not.
I prefer the Nux Mighty Plug 2. I don't need to be in the app to balance sound. If it needs to be done, it's done via the phone itself and the guitar volume controls. I cannot stand toggling through a plethora of menus to get what I need and the Nux saves your presets to an assigned patch. You needn't have the app opened to use it once it's dialed in where you want anything. Only need the button on top to toggle between your programmed presets. If the Flamma is too close to the Mustang Micro, I'll pass. Hated the Mustang Micro.
Straight question, this or the mooer p1?
I prefer the flamma. The p1 is heavily app dependent.
@@60CycleHumcast being it Bluetooth enabled ,is there any chance to control it via a Bluetooth pedal ?
I got one after watching this review. The amps are just OK. With no gain adjustment, they're very limited for distortion.
The reverbs are simply terrible though. They sound like a digital shimmer inside your head rather than creating the sensation of in some space.
The NUX mp-3 is superior to this thing for only $30 more.
IMHO the Super Sonic is the 'best' but some of those others are reeealy good too.
The very last where you are holding it up looks like a cigarette ad...
Wish it haz tunerr
wait
all that and no tunar
that's kind of a weird design choice
only on their website? any chance of a more local retailer to me carrying them?
I don’t know where you live.
@@60CycleHumcast yeah it was more just a universal cry for help. I assume this is new that's why retailers/amazon/ebay don't have it yet?
Might replace my blackstar one.
Star Trek TNG ?
Usually. But I’m down for most trek. Never could get into ds9 tho
No Surf Beat? Bah.
Why can't they make these headphone type amps where you can connect Bluetooth ear buds to listen and practice like an in ear monitor?
They can.. you will get s huuuuge amount of delay from the bluetooth. Like noticable difference in time between playing a note and hearing it. Thats why they don’t have them. Its not that they can’t. They can’t digitize, wirelessly transmit, wirelessly receive, and convert back to analog instantly
@@Ottophil oh gotcha hope they can fix the latency problem in the future it would be a great tool.
Genre
Gainy stuff, that's what I'm talking about
These Units Never Have Rotary 🤔
Flamma's customer service is slow and it sucks. The post office lost my FX10, probably because it's camouflage grrrrr. They've been unable to find it. I'm waiting to hear back from flamma and see if they're even going to replace it. It's not like Donners's customer service unfortunately. Frustrating to say the least.
thats a bummer!
@@60CycleHumcast thanks Ryan, yeah man..I'm a little more than miffed at this point. The post office has been great, they even drafted a letter and delivered it to all of the boxes not only asking for the return of the package if someone has it but also the federeal statutes regarding removing and opening mail that doesn't belong to you. PO doesn't play. Anyway, what would make it right is for my FX10 to show up.
Sounds like a lot of cleans, not very good for a metal player
Far too complicated 👎
Oh yeah, there’s a whopping three buttons that determine your sound and another three that do god knows what.
