We have started getting pretty sanded in here as well. I went out today with Jim, Dave and Brad. As always, Jim did get a gold ring. Nothing huge well it’s huge as it fit on his thumb but not very thick. Still a nice 10 karat ring. At any rate, I’m hoping the south swells start peeling some sand off our beaches. Hoping that Spanish. 8 Reale coin is coming up soon. Totally jealous of the old stuff you find.❤️🏴☠️😊👍
That is so funny Gary. I literally just started keeping track of rings this year. Daniel kept talking about trying to hit 100 last year. I thought,“ I have no idea how many I have found.” Now I’m keeping track of I’m at 61 rings for 2024. 21 of them are gold. A few silver and a lot of junk. Now it’s another fun detecting game. Kids like the cycle. I really need to start a bucket list and post it. I think it would be fun to knock a couple things off in in the next few years. 👍😊🏴☠️❤️

Hi Patricia, we have rain starting again tonight. I am a bit over it as well. I am wearing boots. Unfortunately they got totally wet and got water inside of them. Made it really uncomfortable. They are great if you’re not gonna get in water, but the minute the water goes over it’s a bad day because it does hold the water inside. I have not ever sold anything to this point. I have given some of my rings and jewelry away to my friends and family. ❤️🏴☠️😊👍

Here it is. As always, I definitely recommend playing around with the settings if you get one. I also love the equinox 800. Many of the same properties but in certain instances I do believe the 800 is more stable with VDI’s, etc. here are my settings for the 900. Also, you’ll see attached a great video on UA-cam regarding the 900 All metal mode on the beach Sensitivity 21-23 unless a lot of iron sand. I drop as low as needed to detect. I run my volume at high. 25 Threshold from 0-1 5 tones No discrimination of tones. I like to hear it all. Hi Jim, yes I do have a coil cover. I don’t have a fancy one like I have had on other detectors. I just use the stock one that comes with the equinox coils. So far, I have not worn one of those out yet. In the past, I had worn out covers on Excalibur and PI machines. Mostly in Rocky areas. Thank you for all your support. Hey I am new to beach hunting. The big cut is from beach in HB ? it is a recent video? it says one day but that cut looks huge and wondering if this video is from January storms? I watch tides and wave reports but doesnt seem to be that we have had any huge waves since january ? I would love to go hunting with you guys someday. I am heading to Baja Mex leave May 1st for two months def going to detect all the way down especially those beaches near the busy tourist towns.... any suggestions would be greatly appriciated....You and Jim have taufght me alot just from watching your videos thanks to both of you guys for sharing your videos
That was actually early March. It’s north Bolsa Chicago by Warner st. We had some good wind and tides in Feb and early March. Most of my videos are about 3 weeks old. It takes me a long time to edit etc. We are supposed to have our first big south swell coming this week. Hopefully we get some sand movement. I used to have a surf shack in northern Baja near La Mission in a place called La Selena. I have Surf down there a ton, but I’ve never actually met detected in Baja. I did try a little Metal Detecting in Playa Del Carmen way down by Cancun. I really didn’t find much. A few Mexican coins and a few American coins. Hopefully you get lots of time on those beaches because there has to be some good stuff there. Hopefully you’ll get a big south swell that will cause some cuts on some of the beaches like Rosarito and La Mission. I sure hope you do. Please let me know if you find great stuff. ❤️🏴☠️👍😊

Sometimes I go without finding a single ring and I’m thrilled to find a junker or stainless steel one. I have a huge box of just junk jewelry.❤️🏴☠️😊👍
How much gold do we need to find to be lots. I believe it was a total of 6 gold rings plus a few random pieces between us all. There where actually quite a few gold pieces that where found not filmed. I need to know what channels are showing more gold finds in a 30 min video. I’m in. ❤️🏴☠️👍😊
I am very sorry to hear that. I can tell you from my experience. Since I’ve been hanging out with Jim, I have actually found more gold than I used to. That is not to say that I don’t have other friends that truthfully fine more than both Jim and I do. Truthfully it is all in the conditions and the area you’re hunting. If you’re not hunting super popular beaches like we do. It’s unlikely that you will find much gold unless you have some real strong erosion conditions. The reason we get as much gold as we do we tend to have relatively strong, erosion conditions relatively often. There have been almost no storms for almost a month. The gold has not been that productive. Most of us don’t really hunt in the dry that much but the guys who are hunting the dry seem to be doing relatively well. I did hunt with Jim this morning and watched him get a small gold ring. I got a junk brace at the rest of the guys also got some junk jewelry but no goal. It’s a little disheartening to have people claim that somebody’s gonna walk around with a bunch of gold rings in their pocket. Throw them in the wet sand. Let the waves cover them then dig them up and then act like they found them. Sounds like it’s a pretty risky thing to me. At any rate, I’m sorry that you are disillusioned by Jim or really any of the guys. I can promise you as I literally walk directly next to them no none of them plant their finds. 🏴☠️😊
Don't blame you lack skills, on someone who pays attention to ocean currents and so much more with 40 years of experience compared to your 3 of blindly swinging your coil in the wrong areas. You may not even have the correct machine or if you did have it setup right for the conditions! Things are not an on and off button like you think they are.
It has to do with knowing your detector. I found gold and silver on land and in water. Today on vacation in Florida on treasure coast, there was a big cut and I found a bucket list( a Spanish Cobb! Good luck in your detecting
