Snowbird Trip April 2024 Update - Desert Camping, California Birdwatching and Oregon Coast

In this video, I provide another trip update on what we have been up to in the last month. We have traveled from southeast Nevada to the Oregon Coast with nine stops. The highlights were visiting the Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area and the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge.

TNX for the update. I'll have to incorporate a few of these stops next year. "Poverty Fltas" is what I call our 'sticks & bricks'. The Overton Ridge really looks a lot better with a little wet to it than it did last year when we were there. Harris Ranch Resort is a stop for us on our way down.. The walk up BBQ (on West end) is pretty darn good. There is a nice bird refuse in Ridgefield Wa. (about 25 mi North of Portland, OR) . Good place for Anne to take photos.

I enjoyed my stay at Winchester Bay. That was in 2022. My wife and I love the Oregon Coast.
If you haven’t seen the king tides in winter, visit Shore Acres.

Great video, so many beautiful places you guys have been to. We go through Virgin River area every year on our way to Arizona, and never stopped at that campground, it looks pretty nice. At least you will be going home to beautiful weather, our friends live in Nanaimo, and left Apache Junction middle of March to go home and got lots of rain and wind. Will be nice to see your travels this summer on your boat. Have a safe trip home.

Traffic was crazy the day we went through, two semis crashed and shutdown a I5 bridge near Twin Cities backed everything up and we had to route around.

Will you ever take the boat up to Bella Coola? I hear the Bella Coola Valley is beautiful to see. It is connected to Hwy 97 I think at 150 mile house via Hwy 20 from the coast. It goes down an encarpment. It is the steepest road in North America they say at 18% grade for 8 miles of switchbacks. Thanks for the update! Great video!

Maybe not this season but plans are to take more northward in the coming years. Still getting used to the boat so will stick to more local waters. Lots to still see around down here first. Barely scratch the surface last summer :)
