  • Chronic Anxiety affected everything in Jana’s life driving her to solitude. Seeing her grandmother and mother suffer with the same disorder, she found courage to seek out a better way to live. Redemption began the first time she laced up her skate for Roller Derby and a new, strong, fearless personality began to develop.
A tangled interplay of genetic, biological, personality and environmental factors causes mental illnesses. This growing epidemic will directly or indirectly affect every Canadian at some point in their lives. MOVE brings us inside the life of Canadians across ages, genders, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds living with mental illnesses who have found ways to “self-medicate” and find some light through the discovery of exercise and human movement.
In MOVE, EPISODE 6, Jana learns to live with chronic anxiety by taking on a new, heroic persona in roller derby.
