    I think the problem with channels such as yours is that eventually, you fall into some of these same categories that speak on. There is no way God told you to make channel thats main focus is to critique others for the benefit of Gods will, which is that all men come to him. Only his word can change the hearts of men, and your so-called discernment is only an instrument of discord and not the uplifting God and his greatest. All men fall short, so to make a channel pointing out shortcomings when you are included in the "All MEN" is mind-boggling when the notion is you are being led by God to do this. People such as yourself have chosen content over conviction, and it shows. The passive-aggressive monotone reactions doesnt hide your true nature. You are no better the PAM who i also believe is disingenuous. Repent if you are a true believer because this isn't God's plan for those that are called by him to do his will and not your own.

      Can someone get saved from false doctrine? Yes then they move onto another church centered church.
      We hear of Mormons, Hindus, Muslims, etc having an interaction with Christ and becoming a Christian. Yes.
      Could he have kept this private and brought the need to the church months if not years before the need arose? Yes. He seems genuine but overwhelmed. Why doesn’t he have a group of elders to help carry the load? Why the music in the background?
      This just smells fishy.
      Lord be given all glory and honor in this situation. The judgement of God comes to the church first.

It implies that the organization or individual has a plan, a strategy, and the resources to achieve this ambitious goal. This statement is more focused on the potential and the possibility of raising the funds.
      On the other hand, "asking people for money to raise 15 million dollars" is a more direct and explicit request for financial support. This statement is clear about the intention to solicit donations or contributions from others to reach the desired goal.

    I’m not here to defend Pastor Philip or 2819 or any other church. But I am here to say that I have been in manipulative controlling and cult like churches where the pastor was the king (touch not my anointed) and threatened his enemies. I have also been to a church that had rapid and explosive growth that greatly inconvenienced the neighborhood. Yes the church took an “us against them “ stance because it identified any threat to the ministry as being against God. In reality the neighborhood only wanted to be able to get out of their driveway in the morning without being blocked in. It’s not so much the church causing the problems but the many visitors who park anywhere and everywhere to see the spectacle. It is a huge challenge for both sides and unfortunate.
    That said, I hate that so many internet podcasters who have a peanut gallery view of the church have so many opinions about what any church should do or how to raise money or effectively mobilize people in such situations. Internet and social media access to these leaders is giving outsiders a false sense of knowing more than they actually understand. If you have not been a pastor facing these multiple and conflicting concerns, it might be best to provide just a little grace when passionate leaders don’t do everything perfectly in the public eye. You don’t have the benefit of seeing behind the scenes into prayer closets, board rooms, members meetings, people leaving or seeking to leverage the church success for personal gain, or endless searches for space to house a growing diverse congregation. The implication that 2819 is potentially a cult is concerning because it doesn’t paint an accurate picture of the church. Yes in this social media world there is a new draw toward charismatic and passionate leaders more than before, but that can be both good and bad depending on the heart of the leader. You make it so this man can’t win regardless of his transparency or authenticity…

      This was said SO PERFECTLY!! I also stand in total agreement with this comment! Attaching a narrative that Pastor Mitchell and 2819 is a "Cult in the making" is disturbing when it does not accurately paint a correct picture of his ministry, nor him as a spiritual leader. He is passion-filled about saving souls, and on FIRE for God & that is not everybody's cup of tea! Especially when we live in a world where there are soothsayers, and false prophets EVERYWHERE that are deceiving souls and leading them AWAY from God. Many internet vloggers are doing the same things that they criticize other preachers doing---going after the money, fame and increased followership. On social media, the more controversial the content the more people tend to be drawn to the channel. Afterward, the channel becomes monetized and the money begins to grow and flow. Can you see why it's always negative content on most of these "decerning" videobloggers now? I am not necessarily saying this is true for this channel but most of them are in it for the money, and find their significance not in Jesus but in attracting others to their (biased) point of view. Content creators, like teachers, must also be very careful because they will be judged for what they feed the people just like the preachers they seek to expose.

  • @brian5238
    @brian5238 9 днів тому +14

    I have watched a couple of these videos and I'm sorry, the overall video content of this channel is far from being theologically sound. Real theology is not done by critiquing video clips of preachers--often taken out of context--but true theology happens in community, among well-trained and biblically sound scholars who are adept at presenting and defending their arguments concerning what is or is not truth as pertaining to Scripture. And this is always done within a particular context or framework. However, what this channel seems to be doing is "gossip," in the name of theology.
    The content does not edify the audience nor does it bring anyone closer to Jesus Christ. Instead content like this (and there is a lot of it today) creates suspicion, fear and pessimism. You probably mean well but again, this content is not theological, it is more like entertainment that appeals to typical cynical social media lurkers who are always looking out for failure in others--especially leaders--but miss their own blind spots. Others do it grow their channel viewer count which--means more money in their pockets from YT; which I associate with Scripture's condemnation of seeking "filthy lucre" (Titus 1:11).

      @@TytusJones That a fair point, but you are not a church father. In order to create meaningful dialogue that leads to truth, and promptly addresses potential heresies is not done on a social media platform--consisting mostly of a bunch of theologically uniformed entertainment seekers, but is best done among those who have been trained to do exegesis along with a lot of spiritual discernment and common sense. Again, the end goal is to find clarity that leads to edification and unity. Your
      "expose" fails to achieve any of this.

    Pastor Mitchel typically preaches for over an hour, and taking a few minutes to address the public doesn’t mean he is deviating from his message. No pastor is perfect in wisdom, so we shouldn’t be overly critical. Jesus called people vipers and dog and John the Baptist called people vipers (who where not even directly offending them), I appreciate what you do, Miss Tytus, but please be mindful not to become a stumbling block to the work God is doing through a faithful and bold minister like Pastor Mitchel. It’s important not to be swayed by the urge to critique, especially on trivial matters, whether the are viral or not. I’m not part of 2819, but I can see that Pastor Mitchel is doing a great job and making a real impact on people’s lives while also on his own perfection journey.

      2819 pastor is to emotional he needs to breathe. And certain words as not just a pastor or even a Christian and Disciple we should now use certain words especially those word that keep people visuals in people minds. • @vendradi
      @vendradi 9 днів тому +1

      I appreciate your heart for Pastor Mitchel. I don’t follow his ministry, but from the clips shared, his response came across as prideful. I want to approach this with humility, but we do need to be mindful of whether his behavior aligns with the biblical qualifications for an elder, as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
      And I do recognize that Scripture calls us to respond with humility and love, even when addressing criticism. Jesus and John the Baptist spoke strongly against those rejecting God’s truth, but our public responses should reflect grace and wisdom (James 1:19, Ephesians 4:29).
      Furthermore, Scripture calls pastors to be examples of humility, not arrogance or defensiveness (1 Peter 5:3). If a pastor is putting his ministry online for the world to see, it’s reasonable for others to critique-not to tear down, but to discern if the behavior and teaching are aligned with Scripture. The Bible encourages believers to hold each other accountable (Galatians 6:1), and in a public ministry context, accountability is especially important. Pastor Mitchel's leadership, like all elders, is subject to the same biblical standards (1 Timothy 3:2-7).
      I hope this comes across in a spirit of humility, as I know this is a conversation we all can learn from.

      @vendradi 9 днів тому +1

      I understand your concern and your passion for honoring God and supporting pastors. I agree that we need more Bible-teaching churches, especially in a world that is lost and in need of Christ. However, I think it’s important to remember that Jesus didn’t shy away from calling out the behavior of the Pharisees and religious leaders when they were not living according to God’s truth (Matthew 23:13-36). His critiques were always aimed at helping people turn back to God and follow His commands, not out of hostility, but out of love for them and the truth.
      If a pastor, or any leader, responds to criticism with hostility and pride, it can be concerning because it sets an example for the congregation. The Bible teaches that elders are to be humble, gentle, and examples to the flock (1 Peter 5:3, 1 Timothy 3:2). Our goal in critiquing behavior-whether from a pastor or anyone else-isn’t to disrespect, but to call attention to actions that might not align with Scripture, in order to encourage repentance and growth (Galatians 6:1).
      It’s also true that we should pray for leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-2) and support them, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t also hold them accountable to God’s Word. As believers, we are called to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to care for the body of Christ by addressing issues that may cause harm to others or lead people astray.
      I hope my words come across in the spirit of humility, and I truly appreciate your concern for the church and for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. Let’s continue to seek God’s guidance and use our platforms to glorify Him, with hearts that desire to grow in truth and love.

    Do you frequently pray about what you post? Even Paul addresses people who gave to his ministry and made it known that he was about the gospel and integrity in himself and the congregation. 2Corinthians 8:20-21. No dig against you, but it’s a lot of “nothing is good enough” type attitude as if you sit on a throne of what’s “real Christianity”. Yes I agree that we are to call out wolves. Yes I definitely agree that everything is up for criticism on YT. I agree that no church is perfect. They have flaws but like Paul says in 1Corinthians 1:11 “Follow me as a I follow Christ”, he’s definitely following Christ from what I can see. I’m sure there are people that are in your life that you follow as they sincerely follow Christ. If there is something needs to be addressed in his behavior or attitude then let’s pray for God to fix it. He is striving like the rest of us.
    And the fact that the opposite effect (idolatry) happens in the hearts of men when he says “don’t idolize me” that’s not his fault; that’s the fault of the person committing that sin which God will deal with.

    @WhoisGr8ful 9 днів тому +2

    First off, this is not an attack on you as a person-it’s a plea for your soul. We live in a society where clout and controversy bring attention, but we must be careful not to cross the line from defending the faith to tearing down the shepherds God has placed over His people. “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” (Psalm 105:15)
    Why are you attacking Black men of God and yes Ministers of God period
    ( i know race isn't the point but when i see a pattern I have to atleast point it out)
    as if they don’t already have enough coming against them? This is spiritual warfare, and whether you realize it or not, you are aiding the enemy. “Satan is the accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10), and right now, you're doing his job for him. I pray that when God moves on your heart, you will be more discerning about where you aim your criticism.
    It’s not cute. It’s not cool. And I don’t expect you to receive this rebuke, but I pray you will. Because right now, your teaching comes across as cultish. The way some content creators attack preachers who stand on the Word-though they are not perfect-is out of control. And to lump them together with false teachers like Mike Todd? That says a lot about your integrity. Even if you didn’t say it outright, you insinuated it-and deception is still deception. “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.” (Proverbs 11:1)
    God bless you, but maybe you should do a video on yourself-using the same tone: passive-aggressive, mixing truth with lies, sarcastic, facetious, spreading misinformation. You seem to have a PhD in propagating fallacies while masquerading as a fact-checker. But where is your accountability? Do you have a church? A pastor? Do you seek wise counsel, or are you your own authority? “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14)
    Let me be clear-I don’t go to 2819 and probably never will. My mission field is in the streets, in my community, in prisons, in crack houses. I focus on discipleship, training, and spreading the gospel. I live this faith daily, not just talk about it or make videos for clicks. So I ask you-how do you watch his sermons and come back with this rhetoric?
    If you want to find flaws, you will. If you want to highlight imperfections, you can. If you want to critique growing pains, that’s your choice. But before you pull back someone else’s curtain, be sure you're ready for us to pull back yours. “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:3)
    I say this in love, hoping you’ll hear it. But whether you do or not, the truth stands.
    And if you wondering why am I defending Him it is the same reason I would stand up for you if you were standing up for right. But imo you are missing the mark!

    Bruh man could have easily addressed his naysayers publicly on their platform though he clearly aimed to gain backing from his congregation and to dissuade people from coming to the RIGHT conclusion.
    So let's go through what PAM has done.
    1. Called property authoritarian Karens for upholding zoning laws.
    2. Most likely knew that his congregation has been affecting the neighborhood though has done nothing about it - no love for one's neighbor.
    3. Garnered sympathy of his congregation and those watching for to give money by stating a price.
    4. Praising himself like a Pharisee by saying that he did not ask for a collection in a large arena.
    5. Took money from a false prophets who fleece the flock.
    6. Continuously states how he prepares for his sermons, how long he prays - this is narcissistic behavior.
    7. Manipulates the congregation with music, lighting, and emotionality, AND theatrics.
    8. Eisegeting the text many times.
    9. Foul language from the pulpit as the following statements/phrases "pipe game", "digging out the box", "damn" "hell"-not as to reference the place but as an emphatic statement.
    All of which is wrong. To naysayers. Please show me in the Bible where Jesus/ Apostles have done the above.

While his theology may be correct, this kind of self promotion is highly concerning. Ask yourself, is it ok for a pastor to call people Karens because they complain about the traffic? Is 2819 or Pastor Mitchell the only place where someone can hear the gospel? Because it seems like ppl from that church really believe that. I think what he is saying is what I have seen traveling the country and all over the united states and that is in the mid western church we by majority are not very Discipleship ship focus Gospel focus or Bible focus.

    What church do you know that the congregation doesn’t defend their pastor and their church, good, bad, or indifferent- but especially when the church is welcoming, calls out “clicks and snubbing” to ensure that all feel welcomed… To call out the church as a cult is irresponsible behavior in my opinion, especially if you don’t watch complete sermons and can’t point to anything cultish in his preaching or teaching. What I’m hearing is you speak about the rapid growth, and those that appreciate his work responding in defense of their church and pastor . So many content creators, you included take the opportunity to give opinions for and based on clickbait clips. In the times we are living God’s truth is coming to pass…. I applaud calling out those who preach false doctrine, and bend to the culture that’s in my opinion again worth it to open the eyes of new followers and even those seeking to become a believer… Lord I pray that the hearts of believers would be softened and more open to loving our neighbors as we love ourselves and recognizing our neighbors are all. Let us all be convicted by the spirit to not bare false witness based on our limited knowledge, understanding or our feeling but find direction in scripture that would move us to grow in love, faith and fellowship.

    Why does he choose to focus on something so insignificant and meaningless ? There was such an outpouring of love and support for his church last week as people from across the globe donated money to 2819. A lot of that support was caused by these content creators playing his videos. I read comments from so many of their viewers saying they either didn’t know about 2819 or the situation with the church. As a result they planned to donate. There were content creators who literally dropped his church’s links in their content because they wanted people to support him. Why focus on the handful of individuals who may have said something negative? It makes him seem thin skinned and immature. I haven’t watched entire services or heard entire sermons. I can’t put my finger on it, but I must say that what teaching/preaching/videos I have seen, haven’t tugged at my heart. I honestly don’t see or hear the appeal that others do, who follow and admire this ministry.
      Not to point fingers or find fault. 6k people needing a building to congregate seems like overkill, especially when there’s so much Christian-discipleship needed outside of the building in these streets where the souls are. For me, it was that plea for ONE building to hold 6k, that was cult-ish. The other thing that was cult-ish to me was being so emotionally drained or damaged that “he couldn’t preach”, so there’s NO ONE ELSE who can feed the sheep???? Something is definitely off….

    Love you Ms. Tytus and I’m gone stand beside you lol. Like most people I was excited about Pastor Mitchell as well and still am but not as much. My first red flag was when he had to apologize for cussing, reporting that’s how they preach in New York. My concern was if no one said anything what other curse words would you use. I started backing up then.
    Then it was the testicle comment and for sure the threatening message recently. I’m older and not interested at all of falling in love, or being infatuated with a Preacher or anyone else for that matters. I’m only interested in Preacher that are pointing me to Jesus and those that teach sound doctrine and can help me learn more and grow deeper in Gods word. Another red flag is when you start acting like a thug because you’re being talked about. It’s ok to address concerns and misunderstandings sometimes but if you keep doing that, where is the word? I’ll be keeping him on pause for now and praying. As for you young lady, forge ahead and keep doing what you’re doing. I’d love to have a one on one with you. Much Love.

    I’ve been reading through these comments and it’s disheartening to see such negativity toward someone who clearly seeks to lead with grace and truth. It's important to remember that when we engage with one another, especially in the online world, we are representing Christ. His call for us to love one another and to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) should be our guiding principle in all our interactions.
    Critiquing, when done with humility and wisdom, is a healthy part of our growth as believers. However, attacking or tearing down another believer doesn’t align with the heart of the gospel. Let’s remember to approach one another with grace and understanding, and if there are areas where correction is needed, may we do so in a spirit of gentleness and kindness (Galatians 6:1).
    I really appreciate the heart of Miss Tytus and her commitment to sharing the truth with love. I pray we can all encourage one another to grow in grace rather than allowing bitterness or judgment to take root. Let’s strive to build each other up, as the Bible calls us to do (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
    Blessings

Or are they just learning how to be in a clique? That's the concern....

      I would also add that if ppl don't appreciate some of the critiques, perhaps churchs should stop airing their church "business," that's really a matter between them, the residents, and the community. Old school would call it a "business meeting!"

      Sad that someone got upset with you regarding your choice and style of spiritual leader.. that was wrong because you are free to choose the type of leader u want to follow, as long as they are preaching TRUE gospel.. However I would like to ask outside of the clips about the "announcement" have you ever watched him? Seen a full episode of a sermon? How have you come to the conclusion that he's not teaching the gospel and how to live for Christ? (serious question sis, not being funny at all)

      @@mistervalentine5420 fair point, but let's again be reminded that he said what he said on platform asking for PRAYER, not money, or to air out "church business". The numeric amounts he spoke on was to paint a picture that this is DETRIMENTAL and time was running out, it was not about "begging for funds" as it was painted in SO many videos, which in turn was why he responded about people twisting his words. It was him asking anybody that had been touched by his ministry whether a member or not, to PRAY with his church for favorable outcome regarding the building he said was dilapidated but their ONLY option due to not having funds for the other building. God bless u brother!

    You are quite right Miss Tytuss. There is no apology from the Pastor about calling others ‘Karen’s’, and that is wrong. Added to the fact that his approach to bring his church problems to the world by weeping shows weakness as a leader and that he does not trust God in this situation. Then he comes back being vindictive to persons that try to rebuke and correct him. Come on the signs are there. Too much arrogance.

    I'm starting to wonder if anyone in this chat has the heart of Christ, because what I can discern, this man of God is legit and all you want is views and comments.

      Your discernment, are you sure it's not just your own fleshly suspicion? It doesn't sound like it's from the Holy Spirit, and may God correct me if I'm wrong. I believe if Paul himself was here people like y'all would be having a ball coming for him. It's quite sad how the enemy makes it easy to cause discord among us. What exactly has he said or done wrong that's against God or the Bible?

    A cult no never. This pastor looks for God's answers and leads his sheep with passion and sound word. What he speaks in him is that spirit that giving to him by our Father. His sheep need to know Jesus and when a pastor is separated from his master then the sheep are left without a shepherd. Easily picked off by the enemy because they don't know the true shepherd.
    But when the sheep know the true shepherd, them the sheep are led by the true shepherd whether if the pastor is leading them or not. This how these sheep are recognized.
    Sheep will not follow a stranger.

    Sister Tytus these videos are a HUGE stumbling block please hear me out. for example....I recently introduced someone into new age, with little concept of Christianity to Philip/2819 sermons. This person was so moved by Philip's preaching it made them want to listen to more and now they are in the process of being drawn to Christ. It opened up a full conversation about Jesus, the Bible, and I can now be there to help them down this journey now too and answer questions they have.
    Now when they type in 2819 this video pops up at the top if they watch it it's going to cause nothing but confusion and push them away.
    Please put yourself in the shoes of someone who isn't a Christian or someone interested in learning about the Lord. After another Christian plants the seed, this type of "TMZ" content corrupts it. These videos look so baffling and ridiculous to them and I have heard many said it turns them away or turns them off from Christianity completely.
    I don't believe there is anyway in good faith you can honestly tell me this type of content is building the body of Christ, it's hurting it.

      @ C'mon sister that was an insane prideful response and you even tried to twist it like you're not the stumbling block when many have called you out about that. You are taking the 1% debateable negative and disregarding the 99% positive Philip's teaching and ministry is doing. No offense but from your channel all I've seen is toxicity and harm to the body of Christ. We have seen actual fruit of Philip winning souls to Christ. He's helped many including myself turn from a life of sin. All we're seeing from your channel is rotten fruit in the comments and division and you refuse to let your ego down and take the rebukes. Remember God opposes the proud. I will be praying for you tonight sister that God can work on your heart about this ❤️

    @7:43 I think the conversation of cults is important but a complex one right? Jonestown and Waco being more obvious examples. But ministries with charismatic leaders with somewhat big personalities who are a bit out there to me makes the conversation more difficult. I think what people don't like, they start to use the label of cult on. I think that anything that uses the Christianity label should re-examine itself and see it is really of Christ or not. It should all be leading back to Jesus. All of this extracurricular talk about anything else to me is not Christian or of Christ. People start making up their own philosophies within the faith and because there is no one spiritual authority over them correcting them, they just are all over the place.
