One of the Emperor's greatest failures was how he handled the Word Bearers. "We're in the middle of one of the greatest crusades humanity has ever known, HEY! And Lorgar ignoring the emperor warnings for decades, despite him pretty clear about the matter from the start. Like the message is everywhere and even when you have the opinion it taste bad, you are an idiot if you act against it and think there would be no repercussion. But Lorgar seemingly didn't expect an answer to him ignoring the foundation of the imperium and even after dangerous signs rose up everywhere he still keeps his worship up. Then the emperor handled his answer poorly, sure, but what does Lorgar do? Take the worst conclusions and making the worst of it in general. So much about his oh so divine god thingy huh. The emperor didn’t even really try a “hey, can you chill out a bit” approach and he went straight for “burn the fucking planet”
Even without chaos the ultramarines would be dealing with some severe amounts of revenge from the wordbearers
" I don't think the Emperor opposed people being moderately religious,"
aaaaaaand that's where you're wrong kiddo.
Look up & watch "The last Church" (you'll like it)
It explains Emps view on this topic far better than i could in a few short sentences.
@@barklordofthesith2997 Maybe he was a tinge bit more opposed than I gave him credit for, but he strikes me as having tolerated it on a minor scale. Given that he permitted Word Bearers to keep doing their thing for many years before saying enough was enough, I was always under the impression that while he hated organized religion, he permitted small, rather unorganized ones to exist. The secular kind.
@@Catonzo bringing Monarchia to rubble directly in front of the word Bearers as he (Emps) forced them to kneel before him speaks volumes. During the unification wars he razed Churches/Mosques/Synagogues/Temples to the ground. He actively by force of bolter stamped out the existence of religious activity everywhere he could with the exception of where the practitioners directly benefited his war efforts (Mars for example) Even post entombment on the Golden Throne, the Inquisition if i am not mistaken will possibly exterminatus a whole planet if they discover a large amount of Chaos worshippers on it.
I'd say that it's more than a "tinge bit"
This is great, goes to show how dumb Ultramarines are for trusting the False Emperor, and how the truth is just chaos itself.
Does Someones knows what software Mark Louis use to model and render this animation ?
human 1.0
Неси слово Императора, до края Вселенной! Но не забудь хорошенько зарядить болтер!
One of the Emperor's greatest failures was how he handled the Word Bearers. "We're in the middle of one of the greatest crusades humanity has ever known, HEY! I have an idea, let me drive a wedge in my fucking forces pitting my favorite pawns against my least favorite instead of beating their father to a pulp in front of them myself or turning his sons against him!" I'm no heretic, but I get the frustration, he may be the pinnacle of humanity, but the Emperor can still be a gigantic idiot as well. He's still got that human in him.
Yeah have to agree. For one who was all knowing and far seeing, his abasement of the word bearers was just not smart. The public humiliation was unnecessary. He could have achieved a better outcomes had he not sent the sigilite and just quietly pulled lorgar aside himself for a talk. And Argel Tal's subsequent corruption was so terrible and sad. He was not only staunch but had a compassion for people's lives not often seen.
Edit - grammar
Tell me father, was the prosecution of whole monarchia necessary just for u to tell them " I am not a God" - probably magnus

Sorry for the late replay. It's called "Cinematic Orchestral beat - 'Glory' " It's the first result on youtube if you type that in. I lowered the pitch on it for this video though. Thought it gave a darker theme.

Argel Tal, was that you? (Anime kissy faces and hearts)
Thats all emperors fault. He could have been a good dad and teach lorgar
nice video but i just have to ask who is the dude mounted up the wall ?
why they kneeling down in the beginning ? they also look try to resist it
The Emperor is forcing them to kneel by locking their muscles into place so some of them have spasms and others are trying to resist cause it causes them great shame, you indeed spotted that right.

Idc who you are, what you think, what faction you like, loyalist or traitor, you are simply lying to yourself if you don’t believe that Lorgar was right.
Well he wasn't right to worship his father even after emp told him not to.
And emperor wasn't right to do a fucking genocide to a city lorgar loved and cared and then tell them he's not God in the worst way possible.
The heresy would have been avoided he just fucking showed some love to his son and not as a tool.
Emperor was a massive dick and deserved all that came for him.
@@youdontknowme2913 Lorgar WAS right to worship the emperor. The dude is clearly a God. Imagine being told by a being to not worship them while they are also doing everything in their power to appear as and act as a god and who is in fact a god. It makes no sense. And now pretty much the entirety of the Imperium worships him as the God-Emperor. Not only was Lorgar right, Lorgar won.
@@TheSascatch true that
@@TheSascatch
"God" is matter of definition/perspective. It's just a word after all.
Neither the chaos gods nor the emperor were ever truly omnipotent or anything close to that.
Thinking something is a "god" only because it's greater than yourself shows some level of naivity.
One thing his god does what he doesn't like and he shits on him in worst possible way.
Makes you wonder if there was any loyality to his own words at all.
Truth is Lorgar is a great liar and contradicts himself in equal fashion to the emperor.
Like didn't he critize this exact thing by the emperor? That he is a hypocrite?
Lorgar does exactly the same thing himself with betraying the emperor!
@@Raffney Lorgar was right.
What is the kneeling bit from? Looked like a video game.
Death of Hope, its in one of the trailers, you can find it on UA-cam.
It's from the 2nd trailer of Mark Louis Spark's "Death of Hope". The lady talking is Cyrene Valantion the Blessed Lady of the Word Bearer's legion. Sort of Argel Tal's girlfriend/etc.
I feel like the emperor could have done a better job at showing his son why monarchia was wrong.
Where is the original video from?
Mark Louis Spark's CGI fan video "Death of Hope". I took these clips from the two trailers and from the part 1 "Anarchy Reigns". I referenced it in my comment, but I probably should have left a link. You can just search Death of Hope and find it probably.

To be honest i think some of the legions were manipulated by the " high lords pf terra" i think if the emperor had gathered his sons and told the. Straight out ablut his mission and his plans and. What he expects that maybe the wordbearers might never have become heretics and then the other legions wouldnt fall as well but as i said itz just my opinion im a blood angel all the way family first before the empire is my concern an empire can be rebuilt a family not so much

One of like a few thousand Cult worlds the Word Bearers have, how awful.
@@Buhlmanzky do they have more cult world's than Marines? Do you expect that they are hundreds thousands after internal purges, been kicked in the ass in the Crusade and hunted down like cattle in the Great Scouring, forces into hiding and with no resources to replenish ranks?
Don't tell "Fabius Bile", 'cause he's a madman making more harm than good.
Truth is the Word Bearers are few and scattered in fewer warbands leading some sparse cults in distant backwater worlds, with a scared Primarch still hiding because he knows that Guilliman is still wanting to finish the job he started and fullfil his promise to gut him for good, like a fish.
The Avenging Sons don't forget.
@@_A.d.G_ Dude what are you smoking ? The Word Bearers are the second most powerful traitor legion after the Black Legion, they kept their structure intact and have thousands of cults on hundreds of worlds, they have their own Forge Worlds, entire Imperial Guard Regiments and Titan Legions at their command, the Word Bearers dont just conquer, they enslave, every planet taken by them is a converted planet with millions of new chaos followers, and how Guiliman is now he would not stand a chance against Lorgar, they were even on Nuceria just because Lorgar had no psychic power anymore because he just cast the Ruinstorm, otherwise Guiliman would have died in that fight.I admit the Ultramarines are powerful but the Word Bearers as they are now are only beaten by the Black Legion in terms of military might and numbers, but they are still the most dangerous because they dont just destroy, the spread the word of Chaos, and so entire planets are lost in mind and heart to chaos, besides Guiliman at the moment is reading the Lectitio Divinitatus,Lorgars book, and is beginning to understand what Lorgar is all about,he and his Ultramarines brought Calth and everything after that on themselves with their attitude towards the Word Bearers.
@@Buhlmanzky it isn't me smoking, just the deluded cheap authors GW hires. Those capable of writing that the Space Wolves CHAPTER (not the Legion) is composed of MILLIONS Marines. The ones that can't realise the hair colour of Sanguineous nor the Company of Saul Tarvitz. The ones that on the book "Fulgrin" clearly wrote down that the combined strength of SEVEN Legions locked in combat in the Urgall Plateau on Istvaan V was 60,000 Astartes (less than 10,000 each) and elsewhere wrote that each Legion was HUNDREDS THOUSANDS Astartes.
If you are an intelligent person, and can put together lore, logics and common sense, you know where the answers lie.
Just a final question: if the Ultramarines were largely unscathed in the Heresy, thus played a key role in the Great Scouring (official lore), then what happened on Calth, and above all, why did the spawn just 23 Chapters of more or less1,000 Marines each?
