I learned from Julie Balzer about using stencils, from a free video tutorial series on her web site. For best results when using spray inks, you need to spray for higher up and protect the parts of your project you don't want to be sprayed with copy paper. Otherwise, the liquid pools under the stencil, as you experienced.
