This video shows the weaving of narrow bands with a supplementary warp threaded through a second row of holes in the heddle. This structure is typical of Sami bands from Arvidsjaur, Arjeplog and Mala in Sweden. The Ajtte, the Swedish Mountain and Sami museum in Jokkmokk has a fascinating collection of woven bands.
The video is part of an online tutorial organised by The Braid Society www.braidsociety.com
The beautiful wooden bird heddle is available from www.vavkompaniet.se/

Thank you Noreen. I will be very interested to see your weaving of this type of band which would work very well on your heddle.

Yes. On my blog look at the section weaving with nine pattern threads. It shows a double slotted heddle on an inkle loom.

What do you call the clamp on your belt that is holding the weave? I would like to search for and buy one. Any site recommendations?

Hi Joeseph. It is called a band lock. I bought mine from a shop in Sweden which does mail order. It is pictured on my blog page in the equipment stockists section. durhamweaver64.blogspot.com/ I don't know which country you live in but you may find a local stockist.
