Turkey hill in lancaster County is your generalized convenience store. Like sheetz or wawa. Columbia has tons of history! Grew up there for my whole life.
I say it often that it’s amazing just how many stories of sentimental attachment and community history are attributed to these small places. At the same time, I totally see the draw to Florida as I discovered for myself recently haha. Great to hear!

Columbia library is the one in Lancaster County to go to, for Lancaster county and local history reference/research texts.

Underrated destination for sure, I’d say. Loved my time there.
The wife is from there, I moved her down here to FL. lol Her grandparents home was on the original main st. Those tracks you were walking down :)
