I'm really glad to hear that, because I'm not always sure if I'm making any sense and getting my point across... So it's good when I get some feedback! xx

Everyone can put together great combinations once they understand what is needed to make it work. So I'm super glad you found this useful. xx

This was very helpful. I only wish you could show comparison. For instance, this works and this does not ... within the same room. To show when it’s too far gone.

That's a great suggestion, thank you. I might have to do another video on that. Admittedly, in many of my client projects I have come to find that UP to 9 different patterns can work exceptionally well. This is not a rule, for everyone has a different "magic number" of patterns that are good with. I have also noticed that most of my clients in these 20+ years of my professional career, do not wear more than three patterns at any one time. Some wore almost no patterns whatsoever. Yet, even them were comfortable with 5 patterns in their space. In other words, my clients are were more keen on having patterns in their space rather than wearing them... (food for thought).
Now most people have no trouble adding decorative patterns via pillows on a sofa. It's one of the easiest ways. Supposing your sofa is a small two-seater then up to 3 patterns with a solid in between is best. With a large three-seater, then up to 5 can still work.
Having said that though, sometimes it's best to have that two-seater pattern-free in order to make other patterns work in your space i.e. drapes or area rug. It all depends on what it is that you wish to achieve and/or highlight. So take your time in adding and layering your patterns, starting with some classic ones that you are most comfortable with and then work it from there.
Let me know if you need any help with this... Have a lovely time decorating :)
