- The new project at Six Flags Magic Mountain continues to grow this week with new land clearing beginning to start. No word on what this might be but a new roller coaster could be high on the possibility list. Hope you enjoy today’s update from the park!

Little heads up on X2 they are doing more than work on the lift hill it’s also going through a massive renovation to restore back to how it used to operate back when it opened in 2008, fixing the special effects and sound system on the trains

Whatever it is that Six Flags/Cedar Fair has planned for that plot of land where Golden Bear Theatre used to be, it's gonna be big.
As for where the Full Throttle stage used to be, the looks like it could be just big enough to put in a flat ride, restaurant, or store.
My guess is a more permanent stage.
It's sad when the vintage buildings and attractions are removed. It's like part of your childhood disappearing. I miss the log jammer, and the random side drop of jet stream.

That would actually be sick lol. Imagine if they removed the brakes on the drop of full throttle and just added track and made it a top 2/3 coaster in the park.

I said that a while ago. After you come out of the top hat you hit another launch into a 300 foot high top hat that is right where all the seating is so everybody can watch you go over
This seems like it's going to be a bigger project size wise than Tatsu. This is going to be a crazy ride - imagine we'll be going through the full throttle loop, too.

That would be interesting to see both a Raptor and a T-Rex in the same park.
@@ThePirateprincess23 I think it would be pretty possible. Six flags loves RMC's wonder woman is a different enough than a T-Rex, and sfmm likes to make first-of-their-kind rides. They also like cheap coasters (RMC is very cheap for California) AND they keep hinting at a giga. RMC also is hinting at a T-rex, so this just seems to make sense.
I came here to say the same thing. They included the mountain part of their logo in the photo too which could only be two parks building a coaster right now, Canada's Wonderland (building a new coaster in/around their mountain), or Magic Mountain. Fingers crossed.

We used to love going here as kids, almost more than disney because of the rides. I remember that Dragon funicula thing and the water bumper boats!

Park shouldn't build a new roller coaster but a freakin transportation ride. A chairlift, a monorail, a train, something. 5:50 That's so weird how tall Intamin build the footers on Superman. How the supports are essentially concrete. That's so odd. You've also got to consider that normal tree trimming, cutting dead limbs and trees, opening up areas so smaller, newer trees thrive etc.
Whatever they're building, I can't wait to ride it 👍🏽

A little bird said to me at Out On the Mountain in August “23,,,,a winged coaster will be coming and flying through Full Throttle’s loop. I did actually find a “picture” of that , now can’t find it!!

Few years ago six flags questioned pass holders about extending supermans layout. With hints from RMC , I'm guessing record setting 400' T-Rex coaster using supermans tower, station, and all the land being cleared. For sure superman is going away or being reimangined.
I have been a fan of the Goldrusher since the 70's.
Visited from Seattle in October. And the maintenance was HORRIBLE! Not a busy day, but many of the rides were shut down. And those that were operational were only running one train. ONLY WAS ABLE TO GET FOUR RIDES ALL DAY!!!! Food at restaurants was out by 12:00!!!! No exaguration. The inside queue at Wonder Woman smelled so bad of crammed people body odor people were literally gagging and leaving. Hopefully Cedar Fair can bring it up to decent standards again since the old management is clearly a miserable failure and is ruining a once awesome park.
That’s a bummer that your visit was really bad. Let’s hope they can clean some things up to better the experience. Fingers crossed.
I hope this turns out to be a new ride and become one of the parks staple rides. I've heard a patent has been filed and theres a budget of $75 million. Not sure if that's true though.
I would love to see a new gen Vekoma on that plot of land. Something like Lech Coaster but of course taller and longer since we are talking about SFMM.

On RMC's facebook page 3 days ago, the caption says " did yOu hOnestlty think we wereN't liSteninG? " OONS is the capital letters. Possibly SOON? Along with a photo showing a green T-Rex holding 2 big pillars. In the background is a big mountain and on the top right side is a round sign that's cut off showing the 2 letters of LA. Are these clues saying that Magic Mountain is building the first T-Rex Giga? -

I do not. All I know is the structure itself needs some major work to bring it up to code for people again.

When the ticket booths were ripped out, the entryway should have been fixed up. At the very least, Six Flags/Cedar should have replaced the plain white concrete with more expensive paving, if not also added landscaping too. As for redoing the jungle-gym gateway, since that would definitely cost way more money, management can slack off in doing that. Building a new coaster, however, is what will bring in more visitors. But SF has been doing that for years & MM's attendance still eventually flattens out or declines. Fans of spin, zoom & puke are a finite market, so the millions spent by a Universal/Comcast for an Epic Universe might be the only way to lure in more people to Valencia.
Alot of things has changed, all theme parks are getting updated and six flags was bought out, they investing on the theme park against Universal and Disney

My guess: Spinning Mack Rides roller coaster, similar to The Ride to Happiness.
That's what I am hoping for. It would be an excellent addition to their coaster line-up.

Sad that theme parks have given up on stage entertainment.
I wish Six Flags embraced it more. But that path changed for them a long time ago when they started doing record breaking coasters. The coasters work for them so it makes sense as to why they wanna keep pushing the limits.
Roaring rapids is sadlyyyyy so neglected they need sum attention over on the south side
Agree, maybe after this project they can focus on that.
I just want a better experience at SFMM, every time I go the experience isn't good. Not much shade, rides always down, etc. They should focus on refurbing all the rides over time rather than always adding new coasters. They should also add more shade structures

I saw several top name acts at the Showcase Theater back in the day. I hope they are building a Mack flume themed to the High Sierra to make up for removing the Log Jammer.

Kind of made me laugh that you know coasters so well, you had to pretend you couldn't deduce what was going on, in case you were wrong but you said it as... "I'm going to start narrowing down what this could be... It's a coaster." As to what kind of a coaster, I'm not sure. But it's going to be a terrain coaster."
I wonder SFMM can afford budget grow but new coasters try beat CP and CW?
Not sure they will care much about showing up Cedar Point or Carowinds if they will soon be one entity
They don't need to do that since SFMM already has more coasters than CP so SFMM has the title as coaster capital already

@@seanlewis1148 Yes, track replacement and recontouring the layout so it’s smoother! More comfortable OTSR’s and added theming like a rock formation for the loops, tunnel, desertscape and maybe the occasional viper making an appearance would be good improvements! They need similar landscaping for Scream imo.
