I am sad because I keep buying machines to do specific jobs/ contracts and then hang onto them, well you need at least an excavator, dumper and telehandler in the yard you never know when her in doors fancies an extension to the menage!!!!! Yeah people loves unboxing. But it is also a safety precaution as it keeps records of whatever might have happen to the product at packing and shipping (it also boost the number of witnesses if need be) 👍
Talking about the 8100 one gentleman mentioned putting a power star engine like I said before I have not had anything to do with tractors since 1990 and i can only think was this a later bsd engine I hope you can tell me more about this because you seem to have great knowledge about late ford tractors and new Holland tractors good luck with the project and I will slowly start looking threw all your other videos
The Powerstar was brought in around 92 for the 40 Series and used Fiat/Iveco tech to produce a Ford engine for the 21st century and many continue to work hard today.

Yes you are completely right there I often wonder how many 22 amp open end dynamos where changed when all they needed was new brush’s especially in arable areas or the worst one a5600 with water in the oil that had a motor fitted and when it was restarted there was still water in the oil and that was wrong was the little core plugs under the rocker shaft had gone that would be the first thing you check especially as the rocker cover was the first thing you removed
I know this has nothing to do with 8100 but a short video popped up this morning about you and George Saunders interviewing young man about ploughing they where using ford 4000 and a 2 furrow ransomes reversible plough I was going to ask you if you ever came across aman called John gwilliam he worked for ransomes I accompanied him a couple of times to farms to help set up new ploughs my main job being to alter wheel widths but I also watched and helped him set up the ploughs what a genuinely nice man a brilliant ploughman I got told in the early sixties he was world champion ploughman he think he lived around Hereford a few years later I was at a big ploughing match by Shrewsbury he was doing a demonstration for ransomes with a standard tsr 300 plough and there was more people watching him than a lot of competitors he was so good

I just caught your video very interesting there must be a call for the product I don’t know if you realise the ford q cab and the Massey q cab fitted on the 500 series where both made side by side at gkn factory in Telford and ford where making tractors in America and Ireland and they planned to build a new factory in Trafford park Manchester but along came ww2 there a need to produce tractors quickly and cheap the standard fordson cost about180 pounds and could pull old horse implements where has the fordferguson cost almost 300 pounds and needed its own mounted implements this caused ford and Ferguson to fall out and after the war he went to standard in Coventry to make the tractors for him and the rest his history

Talking about 8000 tractors the dealer ship I worked for only sold2 8200 I think they only made them for 2years one them we sold to a major contractor in our area used to eat starter motors I think it was about the time ford started experimenting with organic clutches and I think the clutch dust used to jam the motor I wonder if you ever came heard of the problem I never heard of it on 7910 or 8210
Very interesting I suppose all the main tractor manufacturers worked with the same clutch manufacturers and all tried different things over the years like the Dana clutch which was supposed to make a lighter pedal but used to wear the flywheel out a lot quicker

It is, it's new and hard to see on camera. As it gets older the holes stretch and get bigger. The ones on the mudguard are quite big but down near the gear-lever they're still small.

This cab has massive holes in the cladding and is very stretched.

The modern way is to dump an entire component and replace it with new.
The repair and rebuild skills are slowly dying.

It used to be a problem on some 50 series JD's.
