I listened to this 30 times on Jan. 1-2, and God heard my broken heart and He comforted me. Thank you so much. The Word Art is unbelievably anointed and powerful.
Brought me to tears remembering the Parable of the Prodigal Son and remembering that that was me
What a great and uplifting song. Thanks God we still have messengers such as Josh Garrels

All God's children are prodigals! Rebels He's made His own. Thank You Father, for Your amazing grace!
+Leah Birkenbach Meneses Amen!
Point of info:
Prodigal does not mean rebellious or wayward. It means wasteful.
An Amazing Father we have in deed. There is no one we can liken him to.
Thank you Father!

...I've put my hand to the plow...
Chris Anderson amen
Thank you
I went the waves, wayward wings
In a world of trouble and sin
Walked along a crooked mile
Behind a million rank and file
Forgot where I came from
Somewhere back when I was young
I was a good man's child
I lost some nameless things
My innocence flew away from me
She had to hide her face from my desire
To embrace forbidden fire
But at night I dream
She's singing over me
Oh, oh, my child
Come on home, home to me
And I will hold you in my arms
And joyful be
There will always, always be
A place for you at my table
Return to me
Wondering where I might begin
Hear a voice upon the wind
She's singing faint but singing true
Son, there ain't nothing you can do
But listen close and follow me
I'll take you where you're meant to be
Just don't lose faith
So I put my hand upon the plow
Wipe the sweat up from my brow
Plant the good seed along the way
As I look forward to the day
When at last I see
My Father run to me
Singing oh, my child
Come on home, home to me
And I will hold you in my arms
And joyful be
There will always, always be
A place for you at my table
Return to me
My child
Come on home, home to me
And I will hold you in my arms
And joyful be
There will always, always be
A place for you at my table
At my table
At my table
Return to me
Amen.
Amen

Is Garrels referring to his Mother as well in this?
1699stu often wondered if it's Wisdom.
I was thinking about it being the holy spirit. I always imagine it being more feminine
Mothering
Trying to figure out if “she” is referring to wisdom or “innocence”
Try looking at "she" in the first part as a wife … as one estranged from her husband, with her husband hoping for her return. The "she" that comes in with the wind, mid way into the song, as a different "she," one that is or of God, possibly the Holy Spirit … saying, "son, there ain't nothin' you can do … follow me, I'll take you where you're supposed to be … just don't lose faith." I see the first part of the song as being about a man trying to control his own life and destiny, admitting where he's failed in his perversions and playing with fire: pleading, begging, dreaming of his wife's return. Until he realizes it is not within his control, and that the object of his life should not be a person, but God, his Father, who will lead him onto the path he's supposed to follow, and ultimately will welcome him home with open arms. Will a reunion with his wife be part of that path? Who knows, but God the Father will see him through.
@@johnmontonye9660 Ya, Josh was separated from Michelle for about 2 years....could have to do with that. Wisdom is referred to in scripture as a female. But, the Holy Spirit should not be referred to as female. That is a false doctrine going around. There's even some translations of the bible that have implied Holy Spirit as female but the original scriptures refer to Holy Spirit - all 3 of the trinity as masculine. So, I think and hope he is referring to Wisdom.
Maybe it refers to the bride of Christ? I don't know but that's all I can think of.
Same question?
@@Stall-FedCalves Amen true! Jesus Holy Spirit is a male it's a he so is God an Jesus they are male and never was female an never will be female🙏🏼❤🕊

Mama
Can someone explains who "she" is?
Well, I'm not the songwriter, so I can't be sure, but the lyrics would lead me to say 'Innocence' (personified). "‘Cause I lost some nameless things. My innocence flew away from me. She had to hide her face from my desire
To embrace forbidden fire. But at night I dream, she’s singing over me
Oh, oh, my child. . . . " (come on home).
Trinity Fellowship Yea that sounds like it. Thank you.
maybe wisdom? Proverbs 8 does the same. :-)
Innocence.
His innocence.
