@@brokeafengineerwannabe2071 1st hello kitty bike conversion derby, prize is a sore bottom and the respect of your peers for being manly enough to ride one
That's cool! I always thought, "Wow, this Tom Stanton is a great engineer, knows every form of power transmission, knows electronics, and has an infallible plan in his head for every project!" In this video I finally realized: he is just as stupid as me! What a relief!
Oh man, I got a 24v scooter speed controller exactly like that recently. I won't admit how long I spent troubleshooting it only to find out that a 20v 5S power tool battery was below the low voltage cutoff... LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL I feel that pain.
Hey! I built a Hello Kitty E-bike a month ago It's my favorite ride at about 25 mph (40 kmh). I made it suitable for adults by getting a longer seat post and better seat and switching the handle bars and goose neck. I also put an 8" (200 mm) wheel on the front. I removed the pedals and replaced it with a 10" bolt for foot rests. It gets tons of pauses and smiles. I also converted a kids trike to a stand up scooter trike.
This video unlocked a memory for me, as a kid I'd ride my bike in the same loop or path over and over again and it would leave a trail of tire marks. I don't know why it's so satisfying but it's fun
PPS... Imagine using one of those hub motor wheels as the back wheel on a Penny-Farthing bicycle. (You know, the kind with one big front wheel and one little back wheel. :))
I’ve tried about every combo I can think of: wiring, harness, controller, decoder, etc... closest I came was for a locomotive 🚂 and no camera to screen output... I would love to see this app if anyone finds it!
Recently I tried to connect a chinese ebike controller and came up with the same idea to use google translate to read the labels on the connectors. Apparently some did not make a sense without some background expertise. Some of the wires have a unclear purpose like if the signal/power goes oout or into the controller. Did someone already made a site or blocg about wiring those chinese controllers?
2:23 Fun grandpa electrical safety here. He is touching the metal of the pliers! BUT his wrist touches the knee, Electrical-Grounding-to-bypass-heart technique. Functional, not approved, in the "less deadly than licking the third rail" area of electrical safety.
God, if we'd had this stuff when I was a kid I would have died. Our favourite thing to do was fit an adult sized fork and front wheel to a child's bike frame to make "clown bikes". They wheelie very easily, dump you straight on your tailbone and cause a lot of pain and hilarity (depending whether you're the one falling or watching).
Will be very cool to out a bigger handlebar a normal and front tire, replace the seat and put a very strong motor and go to a mtb trail or do racing on this. Need to try this one day
I have a folding ebike with a 12" front wheel (adult size, believe it or not) and I don't recommend this. My bike goes through front tires far faster than any bike I've ever had used either tire, and it's only a 250 watt motor. I'm pretty sure a trike would have even less traction in the front. You would just spin the tire and go nowhere.
Yer, It’s Hello Kitty Mate.
imagine freestyling with that
Where did you guys buy the battery kits from??
I’ll race

This is the sort of content I was waiting for from this channel - top quality entertainment! 😂
Hey! I know your
*you
you should mount the foot pedals without the 180° offset. This way they would function as food rests.
Small/cheap bikes like that usually have a one piece crank so you unfortunately can't change them without cutting and welding.
Keeping the 180 offset allows you to keep your feet level giving more ground clearance
Cut them off and put BMX pegs on the front.

mmmmm, food rests 🤤

Tom: "It actually looks quite good."
Sam: "Yeah, it's Hello Kitty, mate!"
Brilliant comedy! :D
Tom’s laugh makes me laugh every time
Honestly, this should have been a main channel video. This has made me realize i’ve been thinking about electric bikes all wrong…
@5:08 I loved how the bike sounds like it's jet powered for a second lol
That's cool! I always thought, "Wow, this Tom Stanton is a great engineer, knows every form of power transmission, knows electronics, and has an infallible plan in his head for every project!" In this video I finally realized: he is just as stupid as me! What a relief!
The giggles are so contagious!!
I wonder how two motors on one perform or a tricicle configuration
Almost 2x acceleration, same max speed
np
a hoverboard could be utilised in this way attached to the rear to form a tricycle but double power. also these motors will easily take 5oow at 48v
reminds me of my bro taking so long to make his vehicle on mario kart

Love the constant giggling.
the way you two giggle kills me XD
This just makes me want Honda to make an E-Motocompo already.
This reminds me of the time Louis Weisz and I made voice control pink Barbie power wheels
Install pegs, raise the seat, and thats highway rollin
Could you give me the links for the hub motor kit and the battery? I would love to build one of these too🙂
What's the app called for translating plugs? This would really help me
Google translate, but it can be used for other things.
I kinda like the natural silence of this video, without some fancy music

"oooh its got years of collection in there" o-o
I love to see that goofy side of you Tom. Keep those coming, they're great!

Does anyone have a link to this kit?

ITS SO GOOD!
Nothing like two grown men giggling whilst riding around on a Hello Kitty Bike haha
With those two hub motors you could make one, two wheel drive hello kitty bike.
your giggles made this so much better xD
you finally caved and got a hub motor....good on ya! :)
The giggling is the best part of this.
"Must be over 14" - Laughs in children's ebikes
As ridiculous as those things looked, I bet they were a lot of fun. LOL
PS... a seat extension and pegs on the front wheel and you've got something. I don't know what - but something. :D

That looked like you both had a blast. Great stuff.
Giggling like the little girls those bikes were made for. Looks like too much fun!
Could you share a link from Amazon for all of the components?
The giggles are the best bit!
Can we get your final wiring diagrams? Why are there so many wires?
I Love It! This is my kind of Crazy.
I’ve thought about doing somthing like this for a while glad someone finally did it looks great lol

Fun project! Got a parts list?
Came for ebikes, stayed for hello kitty. Yall wildin lol
5:07 cue the jet engine sound!
i loved every second of this
Adapt a chair style seat, bolt some forward footrests, and it's gold.
The giggling sounds a bit like a troop of monkeys. Looks like a great time! Keep up the good work.

Great job.. What voltage is the battery? and what's the Wattage of the motor/wheel?
Spotted the motor direction problem at 2:33
They need ape hanger handle bars and feet forward footrests, some fake beards and tiny helmets.
LMAO! That’s friggin’ hilarious 🤣
I wanna build two of em too now
How much does the scooter hw approx cost btw?
I've seen a few of these in my Modified Razors group and some people are using the 72v 3000w scooter wheels....

you didn't think to get ESC with the E hub ?

Them after a skinful at the pub - CRUNCH "that motor is backwards"
What electric scooter did the motor come from?

Well according to this video it is. That was awesome and a great larf.

How much did the tires cost?
I have something similar, it's a pink tricycle with a 30cc 2-stroke engine. I got a few videos of it on my channel
Damn it, now i want in on the fun.
That will be one of my builds, just a tiny Ebike.
They need some sort of massive bucket seat so you can sit right back with the lean of the bike
I love the excited giggles
If you put pedals somewhere around the front wheel or fork you may ride more comfortably, like a chopper :)
Manchildren + disposable income = this😂 but seriously though, this looks like such a laugh and the giggling just makes it🤣
Reminds me of the paratrooper Welbikes from World War 2.
Except being electric, these ones are stealthy.
put long pegs on the front tire to rest your feet on, will have to probably raise the handlebar though
These videos are a lot of fun to watch
The childish giggles haha
where did you buy the wheels?
Lol that was great. Looks like a fun time.
hi i want to make one of these so i was wondering if you could send me the link to the parts you used in the video thanks.
can you drop the links of the parts what you use?
I have one of those motors and am going to build a trike with the motor at the front, I had previously used the motor in a scooter.
I have a folding ebike with a 12" front wheel (adult size, believe it or not) and I don't recommend this. My bike goes through front tires far faster than any bike I've ever had used either tire, and it's only a 250 watt motor. I'm pretty sure a trike would have even less traction in the front. @@awo1fman I was thinking more on the lines of a slow mobility scooter and the tyres on these motors are solid, no inner tube.
Whats the name of the app u guys used to translate?

Two motorised wheels on the same bike next time ?
hey where did you buy the motor from
we need to get a load of these and go round a carting track
