Hope you made money on the deal, but even if you didn't, it looks like you enjoyed the work anyways. You don't come across as somebody who spends much time idle handed.👍
lol just about broke even on the deal. Person seemed nice and really wanting to get a bike to ride again so I sold him the bike for a very good deal. I put much work into this project but it was well worth it and I got to enjoy the bike for a few months before passing it on. You sir are correct, I do not sit idle for very long. I am always on the go doing something. I am afraid age is starting to catch up to me but I will keep fighting it. 😀 I'm looking for my next project but it may take awhile cause it seems folks think their bikes are gold, lol. Mike keep looking, I'm sure you will find something. Take care and God bless brother
That's a lesson i took too, some time ago. Either your a mechanic and you love to ride and repair or start project. Or you're a pure rider. And as a rider, you can't afford to put all that free time you want to ride on mechanic. The essential stuff of curse. But not it all😅

came out much nicer than I thought it would. This was my first time doing it like this.
@@TechnMoto Got myself a 2003. Fixed it up over the past year. Ran into more then a few problems regarding the Fi system. Painted a few parts but painting the whole bike like that is so nice! Very bold. Makes it look sharp.
If I were the original owner I would want my bike back. Nice job Mike.

Awesome! I'm from Spain. I have a F650GS (2000) since last December. I bought it while I was looking for my first bike ever. I fallen in love with the bike inmediately. I'm working for restore it but I don't have enough knowledge and experience with bikes. Your video gives me a lot of good ideas and inspiration. Thank you for sharing it. basically just some waterproof LED spot lights with some wiring and a switch to control them.

Observei muito capricho em alguns pontos, como, por exemplo, a utilização de torquímetro, a substituição dos fluidos, mas em outros.... Um absurdo! A vida útil dos rolamentos da coluna de direção ficaram reduzidos (com um pouco de sorte), pela metade. Adotem outra técnica para remover e instalar rolamentos. Se fosse no Brasil é porque é no Brasil. Pintura com tinta a partir de lata de spray, não dura dois meses. Solda elétrica com a peça encaixada na moto? Que coisa né?!! Criticar é fácil, alguns irão falar. Deve ser por causa da Pandemia. Que venha a vacina logo. Se depender do Bozo.....Gilson Nunes Maia do Brasil

6 months later all the aerosol paint is scratched and flaking off all the alloy and plastic components and the bike looks worse than before..... child like mentality..... oh well....the other UA-cam viewers liked it.....
Spray can paint used and this is your comment. 😂 no one in their rite mind thinks this will last forever but certainly will be ok for more than 6 months or at least till I trash it on dirt.
love it , I did similar but to a 2009 g650gs , from red to blue it was also my main transportation during this time , which was about a year , I ve got that up for sale , and Iam on a 2003 R1150GS , Both are on Riders share , Great Video , and I appreciate your videos as they helped me in a big way , To get this done , doing it myself Thank you 😎

Amazing job. But spray painting it won't holdup. Especially the metal parts. Powder coating is the only way. I painted the plastics on my DR and lightly sandblasted them. Then primered twice, painted twice. And clear coat twice. If it wasn't for the sandblasted texture, with the soft plastics it would have flaked off or chipped in no time.

Wow dude. I just bought one myself and I want to paint the engine and chassis black as well. Did you have to take the engine block out?
No. I did the engine with it in place. Just mask off everything that is not to be painted. Good luck. 👍

I have a 650 gs Dakar 2003 that I bought in Minnesota in 2015 and rode it to Alaska , it was with 5000 miles now is about 24.000 , for sure it’s needs a very deep service , where are you at ?

650GS Engine
The VIN is on the RHS behind the Steering Head. check the production details for the machine. The number is on the LHS down under the clutch cover.
Looks amazing! I think all the black paint makes this the best looking f650gs I have ever seen!

Hi I have an f650gs 2005 the oil light keeps on lighting up and the bike ends up heating up. Any solutions
Take it to a shop to get checked. Sounds like the bike is overheating badly. Could be a number of things. Bad fan, oil unit, temp sensor, radiator, oil level, wrong oil etc.

well done dude! BMW has come out with some of the worst colour schemes in the history of the two wheels with this model... 🙈! You have do e a great job 👍 . Paint wise , do you prime, spray , then seal with a varnish? Doesn’t it scratch off ?
No. I used krylon plastic paint spray. Then I buffed it out. Came out great and has held up well. Pretty nice considering the materials I used and the price.
