Brilliant this man was. God bless you Milton. Not only the remedy - the prescription - was doing something he disliked, but that the activity 'polishing the floor' is physically demanding, so after three nights of doing that, most likely exhaustion must have set in. Thank you for sharing these videos. I love the smile on Milton's face at the end "He hasn't missed a night's sleep since."
I kind of see the point here. Giving him the alternative between doing something he hated and sleeping, sleeping seemed like the best of the two options, so he chose sleeping.
Wow , that is a clever solution, love the way Dr. Erickson reminds him of the fact that he is already losing 8 hours asleep already, and can he "afford" to lose two hours a night---"Afford " jumps out at me
It seems like nonsense. Essentially Erickson was telling his patient if you can't sleep, do something you really hate to do, because you won't want to do it, and you're mind will find a way to make itself fall asleep on it's own. My suggestion is, try another video.
In my opinion..the bed is for sleep...the guy was at the bed , but no sleeping..so he had to do something else ...doing something he hates..his mind have to decide.. Go to the bed ...and sleep...or don't approach the .. bed...... Is a self punishment..do something you hate..if you go to the bed you have to spleep...sleep.... I guess..this guy is years ahead of everyone
Dr. Erickson was a towering genius and colossal disrupter. Yet somehow a deeply warm human being.

Having read about this, it’s wonderful to hear Milton talking about this himself. Thank you
Thank you for sharing! Always great to hear more wisdom from Dr Zeig and Dr Erickson. This insomnia story was also in Wizard of the Desert!

It would be a lot better without the pointless intros.
I would prefer some insight at the end of the video.
Please just get to the point
