@@KarolynsKakes you're welcome, great content.
The best one For me ;)
Thank you!
Would love a link to that awesome paint brush you used. Another awesome tutorial. Thank you.
The brand is Royal and Langnickel. I tried to find the same one with the flat end online, but couldn't. I saw them at Michael's craft store last week.
Great video thank you! Any advice on how to do the skewer part with the numbers 5 and 0? I would like to do these for my dad’s 50th in June ☺️
Yes, for 5, I just put it in the bottom part of the number. Make sure you make it a few days in advance so it can dry really hard and the number won't distort when you put it on top of the cake.
For the number 0, I usually put the skewer in on a slight angle. Make sure it's angled towards the center of the cake so the skewer doesn't poke out the side!
Karolyns Kakes brilliant thank you!!
Hi! Thank you so much for your step by step tutorials!! I've made your marshmallow fondant once but didn't have the dough hook on my stand mixer but do on my hand mixer. It didnt turn out so great but was still able to use it as modeling fondant!! Question, once you add the tylose and make your creation, can you reuse the scraps or are they trash now because they're dried out?
I reuse the scraps until they are too hard when they are at room temp.
I explain at 7:30 in this video:

Hello, I wanted to ask how do you store it? Is it okay to put it inside the refrigerator?
I actually try to let air hit it as long as possible so it can dry out. If you make it weeks in advance, I'd just store it in a ziplock bag. If you are only making it a few days in advance, just let it sit out so it can dry really hard. No need to refrigerate it. I do put the toppers on the cake after they are dried hard and then put the cake in the fridge and haven't had any issues with it.
Do you ever use gum paste? What is the difference between that and fondant?
I have used gumpaste before. It dries really hard and dries out very fast. So you don't want to cover cakes with it. It's great for making things like this topper or sugar flowers. For toppers, I just prefer to make my own marshmallow fondant and add the Tylose powder rather than buying gumpaste. It's cheaper and I'm so used to working with fondant that I prefer that over gumpaste.
Great videos, what if you do not have tylose powder?
Scream and cry because the world is unfair! 😂😂
But, seriously, I would make it far in advance so it has time to really dry out and get hard. And when you're waiting for it to dry, order some on Amazon and it will be there in a day or so!
How much long. Number 1?
Plz full tutorial your fondant cake
You teach very good
Thank you! That number one is about 4-5 inches tall.
I stay in a very hot and humid place. For how long can I keep it out to dry? Should I put it in an airtight cntainer or sumthng?
Adding Tylose powder to the fondant will help it to dry really hard. If it is really hot and humid, then I would make it 4-5 days in advance. Don't put it in an airtight container, the air helps it dry hard. Every day, flip it over so the front and back can be exposed. It should hold it's shape really well after drying for a few days!
Thanku so much dear... I am usinggum paste for it...
@@angel2ann OK then gumpaste will dry really hard, just make it days in advance!
How much do u charge for the fondant number topper?
Where do you get your tools from?
Amazon, craft stores, online cake supply stores and restaurant stores.
@@KarolynsKakes thank you!
Mam where should i keep this to dry
I just keep it on the countertop exposed to air so it can dry out. No need to refrigerate it.
How much tim it wil take to dry
I usually make the toppers 2 days in advance so it has time to harden.
@@KarolynsKakes so great to get ur early reply...
Can it be frozen before use
I’m sure you can, but it’s not necessary to freeze it. You can just leave it out at room temperature. There’s nothing in it that will spoil or make it go bad.
@@KarolynsKakes can it be left for 3weeks
@@efeskitchenchronicles3066 Sure! It will be really dry and stiff, which is good so it won't break. If you want, you can put it in a ziplock / plastic bag or wrap it in plastic wrap after it dries to protect it.
hi why is it my fondant is melting and its not firm thank you
Hi! Where do you live? Do you use marshmallow fondant?
I ask where you live so I know the climate you're in.
in the philippines, its ready made fondant i bought in the store and i dnt know what ingredients they put on the fondant.
@@saintlizabethmacasarte4796 OK, I have found that store bought fondant can get really soft and be difficult to work with. That's why I only work with Marshmallow Fondant. I have a video on here how I make it. I also always add Tylose powder to my fondant, it helps it stiffen up and hold its shape. I believe I linked Tylose powder below if you wanted to buy some! A little goes a long way with the Tylose, you don't need much.
thank you maam for a formative information thats why its not good to buy ready made fondant it somehow destroy the consistensy of cake and does not achieve the form i like👍👍👍 thanks.
That looks like alot of work lol
Cake decorating is a lot of work! 😂😂
