So... I wrote 158 words unedited after watching this! I needed this to get some momentum going as I'm freaking out the dateline finally dawned to me while realizing I also need to work on other stuff outside academia. I procrastinate out of perfectionism, scrutinizing every single word that I wrote and I knew I'm overcomplicating it. I need someone to tell me to keep it simple so thank you Hira for this video! The editing was relatably hilarious I love it

Well doneee and you did so great with 158 words!! 🎉 Yes perfectionism can be a hurdle for sure, think of it as this: it's okay to be perfectionist at some point say in editing and organising at the end so maybe tell yourself that we will be perfectionist but not yet! Not in the beginning when it's just about getting words on paper! Keep going, keep it simple, and you got this!! 💪

Loved the video, the hilarious animations and of COURSE the title slides hehe Also, any advise on the social side of a PhD, I really don't want to be a loner PhD student lool

Connect with other PhD students and make every thesis writing session into a party! But in the first few years, have hangouts where you don't discuss the PhD at all and totally switch off! Hi Hira, Love your videso. Can you suggest how to do literature review in first year of PhD, along with taking notes on the articles we are going through, how to combine ideas in those articles. And finally be able to write a good critical review paper by the end of first year in PhD. It would be really helpful. Can you suggest a good ipad. I am a chemistry PhD student. As you have also talked about a microsoft ipad I guess. Can you tell it's full name. Much thanks.

Everybody is so obsessed with Notion on Internet that it's become difficult for newbies like me to decide which one to chose between the 2. I really liked the infinite scrollable pages on One Note because I can copy paste papers' content on one side and write in my own words on the other side of the page. I can't do that in Notion and it makes writing so much quicker and easier.
Is this applicable for undergrads writing a review article? Thank You ❤ I'm just starting out to understand the intricacies of oncology research as an average student :)
Hi yes in general a thesis is a much bigger paper :) And for a review specifically, the part on the introduction may be more relevant and I'll also make a video specifically on thesis introductions
