Bend Tech Tutorial, Designing a bar stool

- In this video I take you through the steps I take to design parts in Bend Tech. It's direct and only covers the aspects I use. But if you are designing the same kinds of parts I do and you are learning Bend Tech, I think this will help a lot.
Here is a link to my shared folder where you can get this design if you want it.

Excellent video. Better than many videos that are made by “professionals”.
You have a clear, concise teaching manner and help teach to mastery instead of just spitting out the information.
You would have made an excellent Industrial Arts teacher; I used to be one, (in another life - 1984).
Can’t wait to check out other videos made by you.
Thanks buddy, appreciate the kind words.
To be honest when I make videos like this I just describe it like I would want someone to describe it to me. 👍
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. Good video, very beneficial to new users!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment.
Thank YOU!!!!!!
Man you must be a teacher or was one???
I understood everything you did.
I’m 56 years old I no nothing about computers I do have 4 children and a couple of grandchildren that help me out. I do get tired to ask all the time like a child!!!
I’m going to order the program thank you I have a project a blind for my boat.
Thank you
Dan
Thanks Dan!
I really like to hear when my videos can help people out.
I'm not a teacher, but I know what people need to know to get things done! 👍
I love getting more into fabricating, you can make the coolest stuff ever from it! I like the design, looks nice and strong!
You're in the right hobby then! There are endless things you can fabricate for a Bug, or "Dust Buggy". ;-)
Just started with Bend Tech... This was very helpful! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the comment.
Thanks buddy. This video was helpful for a beginner like myself
Glad it helped, thanks for the comment. 👍
Thanks for this tutorial, I've bent tons of stuff but needed a refresher. I also appreciate your honesty. keep it up!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
Thanks mate. I learned more from your vid than bend techs training videos. Might even throw some tube in the bender and build the stool as well. You saved me lots of head scratching.
So glad it helped you and saved you some time.
Hope the stool comes out awesome!
Should have shown the completed bar stool having a beer.
Helpful. Thank you.
Lol, yeah that would be funny.😂
Thanks to take your time to explain this software, I was using it last week to do some tube fabrication and it's really amazing, I use it as you, just the basic, but I know there is too much more to learn to take advantage of it, hope you keep making tutorials like it in this way because they are very easy to follow... thanks and Merry Christmas my friend...greetings from Patagonia Argentina!!!
Merry Christmas to you as well! Glad you have the software and are enjoying using it. I don't plan to stop the videos anytime soon. Thanks for the nice comment, and greetings from America.
You are definitely an expert. Stop selling your self short. You remind me of the privaters taking on the multimillion dollar teams. Keep at it and thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy. I love it when privateers give the bigger teams a run for their money.
That software looks very high tech and complex!
I am going to buy this soon. I appreciate the insight into an area that , I too, am no expert in.
Nice, if you get it let me know and I'll send you some files to experiment with.
Very Cool, I like how you took your time in showing every step. You made me feel like this would be very easy to do, Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.
Thanks buddy, Merry Christmas to you too.
Thank you, this tutorial really helped me make sense of this software!!!
Great, glad it helped you out. 👍
Nice Job! If you do it all correctly it sure save's a lot of grinding and having scraps. That bend back stuff is what always gave me trouble. I hope you have a nice Christmas!
Thanks EZGZ, you too. I know I still owe you a call back so we can get in a ride or two.
Fantastic well explained will have a look at this system ,Merry Christmas to you and your family
Thanks Tim! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
Dude that's awesome! I used google sketch up when I built my bed cage lmao.
Hey dude, you use whatever you've got to get it done!
Not using the program, but interesting to watch. Good explanation.
Thanks for the video
Hope it helped.
Thanks for the comment. 😊
Hay I believe you have the sheet metal Module. Could you run thought make a quick video on just a flat plate with a few holes in it or something like that.
Thanks for the great videos. I've been doing some tube & sheet metal work on a back half build and it's been mostly trial and error so far. After seeing your chassis video I picked up Bend Tech Pro with the sheet metal module and it's pretty incredible. I'm only on day two with it, but it seems fairly easy to get the hang of. Even with my very basic understanding it's insane how fast I can draw projects up already.
Do you run into any fitment issues due to the software, or is it pretty reliable as long as you're doing your part?
Hey Damien, glad you got the software. It's really nice once you get past the curve. I have had a couple issues with mitre cuts. Nothing I haven't been able to get around. But I always view the cuts individually before I get to far to make sure it took alright.
thank you for this i was lost
Glad it helped.
Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video!
I have mastered the design/drawing phase of my projects, and now I'm trying to transfer them from the software to the metal.
I tried to download your Barstool file, and when I open it, it's blank. I wonder if it is due to the fact that the individual parts are not included with it?
Where is the link to the video of you describing/showing the layout measurements and details for cutting and bending? You mentioned a link but I don't see it in the description above.
Thanks again!
I think this is the video you're looking for. ua-cam.com/video/GgKC3xAyPhE/v-deo.html
Not sure what the issue with the barstool is. Email me direct and I'll give you the file direct. Maybe that will work. Dougbugbuilder@gmail.com
Thanks for the videos! I just got into bend tech and have the pro version like yourself. Your videos are very helpful and I appreciate them. I am having an issue that I haven't been able to find an answer for. The writing for my compass that says Forward/Back Ceiling/Floor and Left/Right is MASSIVE, it obscures the view of my entire project, and I cannot find any way to adjust text sizes?
Interesting, try this.
Depending on how big or small your drawing is sometimes you need to adjust the scale of the compass.
1. On the main header click on the settings tab. The one with the gear above it. Right next to "Bend Mode"
2. In the box for "Tri-Star" you'll see an option for scale. Mine is set to 1. Adjust that and see if that solves the issue.
Let's see if that solves the issue.
👍badass
Thanks!
What soft wear did you use to stress test and see why it was failing and could I use it and stress test a full cage ? I am trying to lane all of this you vids are helping a ton thanks!
I personally didn't, but I know a couple of my viewers have used SolidWorks to do stress analysis from Bend Tech files.
How do you get it to miter just one tube to leave it open?
great video for new users, thank you. Just curious, after 5 years do you still use the software or find it easier to just fit up as you go?
I do, especially the 2D Cad portion. Don't get me wrong, if I'm just making a small tab or something I'll use cardboard. But if I do anything beyond that I'll draw it up in Bend-Tech still.
Whay is the rd line set to be positioned more then 10 inches from the end of a 8 inch piece of material?
I'm not 100% sure what you're asking. Can you tell me the time in the video where you are having the question?
Hii can we get G code throw this software for tube bending
No. Nothing that's part of this software will do that.
Great information thanks you can check out my cross kart project on Instagram I got the bend-tech just to make my frame and it has helped Tremendously. Bend-tech needs to put some controls on the right click on the mouse
I'll look you up on Instagram. Thanks for the comment.
Плагин для солидворкса напишите. 100% успех ждет вас.
Сначала мне нужно изучить Solidworks. смешной
Но спасибо за идею.
