  • In this video I take you through the steps I take to design parts in Bend Tech. It's direct and only covers the aspects I use. But if you are designing the same kinds of parts I do and you are learning Bend Tech, I think this will help a lot.
    Here is a link to my shared folder where you can get this design if you want it.

    Excellent video. Better than many videos that are made by “professionals”.
    You have a clear, concise teaching manner and help teach to mastery instead of just spitting out the information.
    You would have made an excellent Industrial Arts teacher; I used to be one, (in another life - 1984).
    Can’t wait to check out other videos made by you.

      Thanks buddy, appreciate the kind words.
      To be honest when I make videos like this I just describe it like I would want someone to describe it to me. 👍

    Thanks mate. I learned more from your vid than bend techs training videos. Might even throw some tube in the bender and build the stool as well. You saved me lots of head scratching.

    Thanks to take your time to explain this software, I was using it last week to do some tube fabrication and it's really amazing, I use it as you, just the basic, but I know there is too much more to learn to take advantage of it, hope you keep making tutorials like it in this way because they are very easy to follow... thanks and Merry Christmas my friend...greetings from Patagonia Argentina!!!

    Hay I believe you have the sheet metal Module. Could you run thought make a quick video on just a flat plate with a few holes in it or something like that.

  • @Father_Blandingus
    @Father_Blandingus 5 років тому +2

    Thanks for the great videos. I've been doing some tube & sheet metal work on a back half build and it's been mostly trial and error so far. After seeing your chassis video I picked up Bend Tech Pro with the sheet metal module and it's pretty incredible. I'm only on day two with it, but it seems fairly easy to get the hang of. Even with my very basic understanding it's insane how fast I can draw projects up already.
    Do you run into any fitment issues due to the software, or is it pretty reliable as long as you're doing your part?

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  5 років тому

      Hey Damien, glad you got the software. It's really nice once you get past the curve. I have had a couple issues with mitre cuts. Nothing I haven't been able to get around. But I always view the cuts individually before I get to far to make sure it took alright.

    Thanks for the video!
    I have mastered the design/drawing phase of my projects, and now I'm trying to transfer them from the software to the metal.
    I tried to download your Barstool file, and when I open it, it's blank. I wonder if it is due to the fact that the individual parts are not included with it?
    Where is the link to the video of you describing/showing the layout measurements and details for cutting and bending? You mentioned a link but I don't see it in the description above.
    Thanks again!

    Thanks for the videos! I just got into bend tech and have the pro version like yourself. Your videos are very helpful and I appreciate them. I am having an issue that I haven't been able to find an answer for. The writing for my compass that says Forward/Back Ceiling/Floor and Left/Right is MASSIVE, it obscures the view of my entire project, and I cannot find any way to adjust text sizes?

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  2 роки тому

      Interesting, try this.
      Depending on how big or small your drawing is sometimes you need to adjust the scale of the compass.
      1. On the main header click on the settings tab. The one with the gear above it. Right next to "Bend Mode"
      2. In the box for "Tri-Star" you'll see an option for scale. Mine is set to 1. Adjust that and see if that solves the issue.
      Let's see if that solves the issue.

    How do you get it to miter just one tube to leave it open?

  • @punziracing
    @punziracing 4 місяці тому

    great video for new users, thank you. Just curious, after 5 years do you still use the software or find it easier to just fit up as you go?

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  4 місяці тому

      I do, especially the 2D Cad portion. Don't get me wrong, if I'm just making a small tab or something I'll use cardboard. But if I do anything beyond that I'll draw it up in Bend-Tech still.
