i had a weird dream about a hydro character with a 30s duration, off-field oz (i think there were multiple oz's?) which also provided dmg% to the entire team in a way that neuvillette could easily use without complex setups.
I had a similar dream where that character gives a 95% damage bonus when paired with neuvi, and that neuvillette’s c1 was designed with that character in mind!
Well done, Jamie! I have to say, I really appreciate these day 1 guides. But not many, if any, TCers provide such detailed, comprehensive, well-communicated information. I can safely say I need basically no other video to know everything I needed to. I appreciate your hard work and thanks again!
Thank you for making the last point of being patient with this unit while he still feels a little bit incomplete. For those of us who were going to pull him anyway because we like his character or design etc, it's important to give him that room to grow. This is something we really should have learned from Nilou's and Cyno's releases last year, and it's worth bringing up again.
At first I thought you were just gonna make comments on leaks, and thought it was funny that the video was coming out 30 mins before the patch. Anyways, very cool and epic video, very informative and educational. Thanks for your hard work!
Will have to see in a few weeks, but I feel like based on how every Fontaine character had a HP-sac mechanic so far it's safe to assume that Furina will expand on this mechanic pontentially counteracting it or exploiting it and if that's true then maybe Nuvilette was tailor made to work with her in tandem especially with C1 which effectively gives you a free slot to work with.
I really feel like he was hinting at that, plus he put Fischl in her slot, and Furina has a similar personality to Fischl's persona. Or I'm reading too much into this
This is my team Zhongli Fischl Sucrose Neuvillette And I’m using the prototype weapon I’m not change this team Y’all got to remember y’all don’t need a perfect team synergy all the time Some times I feel like everyone tries a little too hard to get everything picture perfect
Jamie this is uncharacteristic of you to release on day-1 haha - please don't go down the path of other CCs in the rat race to release and take your time!
I'll still have my normal quality and take my time for 90% vids, but this day 1 vid is a huge opportunity to grow the channel still, thank you for the feedback I really do appreciate it!
I understand the concern but it is fair for him to release first impressions. Like Jamie said in the video he did do some calcs on him while not as much as the ones he mains currently , it is not like calcs need weeks to be made . I think the issue usually comes from pre releases never first impressions of theory crafters because when u play character u get a good idea of how the practice works in comparaison to just the numbers , while in pre releases u are just talking about none existing possibilities like how beidou interruption is very good with him but when u try it in game 80% of the attacks stagger you so it takes in game testing witch he did try Also it is good for him to take this opportunity he has and grow his audience ❤ after all he puts so much work into the content he makes and for it to be as unbiased and truthful as possible
I thought this vid was still very thorough and helpful regardless of the release speed. Also, I want Jamie to be able to capitalize on the view counts and clicks that come with a newly released characters. This will allow him to grow his channel more and somewhat compensate him for the work he does. Of course, I'm still looking forward to a more in-depth video later down the line.
Thankfully despite the lack of supports that directly help him, his damage on his own is so strong that it mitigates that a bit. Furina will definitely be a boost for him and I'm curious to see what other characters end up pairing well with him going forward. Definitely a character with a ton of potential.
Bro trying his best to not laugh when talking about "potential" new hydro characters. Do you recon Neuv + Furina + Kazuha + flex would be the best core by far? I'm sceptical about the last slot because it seems that a healer would be mandatory.
@@butterfer0808 Yeah, but providing reaction + teamwide heal. ER can be managed with the cost of her personal damage (close to non-existent). Her C4 returns ~10 energy (similar to double cryo's worth) and A1 enables her to use skill 2-3 times per rotation (more particles), plus ER sands and Fav. Not really sure who's the best between her or Baizhu or Qiqi for this role, so i concluded her as "interesting" option. We might get a non-hydro healer in the future that might synergize best with him, let's see.
The problem of hyper carry teams is that bringing hydro characters without reactions feels like a waste. On the other hand his own damage is very high. I did not expect that at all, even though I watched leaks, those 28k tics outright surprised me. What to do...
I am very sorry if I've missed it in the video but what is the soft cap for hp? I will be using Sacrifical Jade and I couldn't decide between two hydro goblets - one has high cv, other one has %25 HP. What is the diminishing return point for HP?
there isn't one, between the two pieces, you would either have to check with an optimiser or just test in game which one does more dmg. just make sure to account for crit rate differences!
In that hyperbloom team you tried with Nahida Raiden Baizhu, try replacing Nahida with Kazuha and Raiden with Fischl It works much better 3 stacks instantly Electrocharged Swirl in AoE and Hyperbloom in ST Both Neuvillette's and Fischl's damage is boosted alot by vv shred Nahida applies too much dendro to swirl properly,so she wouldn't fit in. And you have electrocharged swirl damage in AoE,so you don't need AoE dendro application anyway.
You run raiden to proc the actual hyperbloom reaction, fischl doesn't reliably hit the seeds and electro swirls don't happen often enough. If your playing fischl kazuha might as well stick to taser teams and run zhongli in the last slot or beidou
@@flygon727 Thing is it may not matter as much here since Baizhu produces 1 seed per second and 2 seed per 2 sec and Kazuha covers that just fine.If you were using Nahida or Alhaitham or even Baizhu driver that's a different thing. Also now considering that, would it be good to give up an entire spot for a second hyperbloom trigger when that spot can be used for doing aggravate damage? Especially when your buffing with VV shred and reaction bonus and aggravate reaction
Dehya it's a good team mate for burgeon. I'm playing him c0r0 since release and found very hard to consistently get 3 stack on his passive with the zhong, kazoo, fischl team, unless you found an enemy that have a elemental aura or shield. So now I'm playing him with nahida, kazoo n Dehya and it's easier to maintain his 3 stack up and Dehya do a decent job increasing interruption resistance besides the few hits that vaporize does almost double dmg, only down side being the big cooldown on Dehya skill that I compensate using her burst to burn time
You forgot the cryo flex like rosaria and burst ayaka or just a straight up freeze team replacing zhongli if enemies are freezable to have good aoe that will also be synergistic with kazuha. Anyway, just have to wait for furina hydro archon for the double hydro team in the future.
I am a bit late for this one but can you make a video about hos rotations on his teams? People like me and rest in the subreddit is looking for a proper rotation for such team especially in taser where it is very hard to swirl + get hydro crystal because of electro.
Question: does Neuvillete works well with Nilou? I’m wondering because I wish to maintain Kokomi in the permafreeze team, without having to switch artifacts sets everytime. Also, is Layla’s C4 a good buff for Neuvillete?
In Nilou he would probably need some extra healing and without C1 some interruption resistance that basically only kirara or baizhu could provide, definitely not the most optimal version of Bloom. Im thinking about testing my C6 Layla to see it, but I imagine it should still be worse than a Zhongli since the numbers aren't that big(the freeze should be nice tho)
Idk why people always slot Raiden with just about anything when she's literally the worst electro to use in some instances. Aside from applying electro, Yae can literally do more damage using Nahida's em buff. Not to mention the fact that if you take Raiden, she's going to take a huge chunk of time from Neuvellitte doing her burst. More time than setting up 3 turrets and burst animation from Yae. It's funny how when it comes to other characters "taking too much time" is an issue but Raiden is apparently immune? Sure her skill set up is faster and maybe other people would argue to just not use her burst. Then you literally defeat the purpose of taking her in the first place.
Imo because Neuvillette don't have any off-field hydro application, in Nahida, Kokomi, Nilou, Baizhue comp he'd be downgrade to Kokomi. Also you'd have to build him full EM which is not ideal. Ok thanks. It's just that when I became a nilou main, I started having a insatiable hunger to get all hydro and dendro characters for nilou😅. As long as they work well with nilou , they are must pull for me. So are teams like nilou, nahida, ayato, baizhu and nilou, alhaitham, yelan, baizhu good?
Ngl i disagree with your thoughts on his c1 and shielding needs, i've been playing around with him for a while now and because of his range, and how quickly he moves during CA, i didn't really notice interruption being a problem
Donut for HP% stat stick is fine but not better than Proto Amber, because neuvillete cannot using donut passive because his play style using CA and Donut passive work for NA and healing Bonus wasted stat for him.

His C1 is good for interruption resistence and for the stack, but how much Furina buff him even without it he will be good to use with her and you can use a shielder with him, like Diona or Layla or Zhongli (best option). I think maybe Charlotte will be good as well, not because the shield but because she heals and apply cryo as well so you can play double hydro freez team.
As someone who pulled all Hydro characters to date, although unpopular may be this is my honest early opinion- Neuvillette's use case is similar to Ayato but Ayato is more versatile with less drawbacks. Due to how well Neuvillette can use the new artifact set his personal damage is higher than Ayato but I feel like team dps will depend on skill of the user. Ayato comp has higher floor compared to Neuvillette comp but I am not actually certain if Neuvillette comp has higher celling than Ayato's.
@@calvin659 My comment was based on my personal experience with both Ayato and Neuvi. Granted Neuvillette was just released so My perception may change more I use him. I hope you're also speaking from your own experience. Sure Ayato's skill has 6s downtime but his burst only has 2s as such you don't feel his downtime as your setting up supports when his skill is on cooldown. Neuvillette's proper rotation also requires his burst so I don't feel one has better uptime than other. But Neuvillette does has on demand hydro application as a catalyst user so that's a plus. In a vacuumed Neuvillette has more damage than Ayato but as a Atk scaling character with some Hp% bonus Ayato can use use more Artifact sub-stat and has access to more weapons variety so its easier to reach his damage potential. Unlike Neuvillette, Ayato can use Bennett, XQ, Yelan, Thoma, all form of Atk% and Atk speed buff. Moreover Ayato do not lose damage if he is not in a rainbow comp and he handles getting staggered better than Neuvillette. If Neuvillette gets staggered you essentially loose one-third of a rotation damage. I have all hydro characters but I still pulled Neuvillette because I think his play-style is interesting but I try to understand what problems a character has so that I can find ways to mitigate those to better enjoy using the character I pulled.
