Surrendering to God, which is my interpretation of this song, implies that you had God. Rather to surrender to God is your acknowledgment that you are a version of God at your highest self. I love when she says 2 things:
1) don’t ever ignore me, you’ll be sorry. Isn’t that what happens when we ignore our highest self, aka God (the universe, great spirit or whatever you use to describe the most high)? I am personally always sorry when I don’t listen to and surrender to God. In a literal sense. But as her pops says, we get our reality for free which means we have to power to shape and change it whenever we want .. for free by simply surrendering to the most high. It’s often uncomfortable in this world but we have to push past it and learn how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Our highest self has our back but do we BELIEVE IT?
